Can’t wait for more videos on the Apollo I also have one myself, it’s a x16 thinking of doing the same thing on mines. Love your videos man they help a lot keep up the good work💯💯
Totally worth doing!!

Dude, you are literally about to make me buy one of these. I wasn't really gonna make it my main goal, but seeing you build this thing has made me reconsider. Im 100% subscribing.
These things are a friggen blast to ride man!!! Love mine with the 150 swap in it!!
@@AaronsEnduro I can only imagine! I didn't even know it was 150 swapped, thats sick. I was looking into 125's, but now I'm starting to see these 150's and they're like $400 dollars more than a 125 on amazon. I was actually gonna ask, what's a cheap but good and reliable route when it comes to kinda pit bikes. I've seen some older ones that have a 5 speed instead of a 4 speed, and I feel like just buying a 150 with a 5 speed, and minimal upgrades might be better than buying a 125 with a 4 speed and putting money into it. What do you think? I just turned 18, work part time, and get few hours a week paychecks are typically $100-$150 a week.
My 150 is still a 4 speed. Realistically if you want to buy something checkout my buying guide video
please don’t buy it, waste of what was $1500 that i spent and now probably 2200, i always have something to fix
For $2200 buy a used Yamaha or Honda they last a lifetime

Seems like you can get one of these up to around 70 mph?
Ive gotten mine up to 100km/h
I went ahead and put a new makuni carb on it too. Cheap. Runs like a beast. Feels wayyy more efficent
Heck yeah!
Put a ribbi carb on it 60$
Nibbi*
If it runs mint with a mikuni why would you change carbs again?
@@AaronsEnduro depends on how much you ride and what gas you run the mikuni clones kill the throttle cable and always get stuck wide open on the throttle when you start it so you have to rebuild the carb every time you finish riding, or your bike will blow up next time you start it

Thanks homie 🙌🏼
Do you change your sprocket along with increasing rim size or do you just do one or the other on your bikes?
I had done both, but with the tall gearing and bigger wheels it bogged too much on hillclimbs .
Ive since kept the big wheels, but whent back to a 14tooth front sprocket
I just got the last orange rxf 150 from y’all gals week I’m trynna ride
Heck yeah dude! Thatll be a blast!!!
I own a bike exactly like this. It's a pretty good bike
Do you have a link to the sprocket and other stuff you got?

Bro ginus book of world records for most times to curse in a vid lol
Sh!t boiii
How tall are you and do you think your 125cc is good for your height? Love the vids btw
Im 6ft 1” its a great size to learn on, but its towards the small side of things. Keep it mind it is a pit bike after all
I have an x6 I put a mikuni carb and some new gearing and got it up to 55
Thats dope!
The manual on these 125 cc says to adjust to 3/16 slack on top and bottom is that what you adjist tour chain to? Or a little more slack than that? Tks
Thats bout right!
I’m guessing that the bigger tires in the description also comes with the rims
Hey Eric is 1st and 2nd gear any better with gear change you take care my friend
Slightly faster
I'm told my Apollo 110cc automatic kick start was to be going around 40mph but it seems way less. Looking it up doesn't seem to match with the info page of the bike and says it should be a semi-automatic. It has drive and neutral, which seems more like automatic not semi to me. Makes me think the top speed to be less ad if the CCs are less than I was told. Definitely looking to increase the speed a little bit.
First dirtbike/pitbike ive ever had. Im so use to riding street bikes i still try to shift to first down not up 😂 only thing i dislike about the x18
Agreed! Wish they had conventional transmission like regular Japanese bikes!
Gonna have to do this on my 150r
10000% super worth it man
@@AaronsEnduro bet
ye but it gonna be hard do wheelie in speed
Did not think Is i would see you here
Who?
If the bike goes 80 mph 85 then it might hit a hundred depending on what size rockets you put on biggest sprocket in the front will make you go faster and a smaller in the back will make you go faster in the long run slow in the beginning bigger one you go fast in the beginning but not in the long run
Thank you I bought a new 19 tooth front sprocket I'll let you know what happens I also but I 17 and case of it didn't fit because the KTM I went to told me they have never put that big of a front sprocket on a pit bik
That is like way overkill to big of a front sprocket lol. Like 16/17 tooth max for a 125 pitbike. That things gonna outta its efficiency zone and be slow asf accelerating but have a higher top speed.
Does this work on the venom ?
What sprocket size you recommend i change to on front or rear or both? If i want to set up my same bike for wheelies
14tooth front, stock rear gearing
@@AaronsEnduro well based on your video the stock one you replaced in front was a 14 tooth? So should t i already have a 14tooth on mine as well?
Likely!
I’m trying to get the exact size for my makuni carb
6:15 this is exactly why im getting new sprockets. First and second is useless at the moment
So it is more bigger and more tooth the faster. and the back wheel sprocket if that's smaller and has lead teeth makes faster or slower I just got them for a bike in working on
thats correct
hi i just bought a apollo used off marketplace it starts up first kick and everything runs good no down shift all up besides neutral but some times it gets stuck and its hard to shift past 3rd gear any recommendations of parts to get to fix it
changing motor oil can help. Other than that, its just the crappy design of the apollo transmissions, and thats probably why the person waws selling the bike
What oil do you recommend? I own a apollo 125cc d18
I have the oil i use linked in my description!
Hi! Love your vids. I have two dirt bikes, but I use to have someone do the work for me. Im watching all your videos on how to make pit bikes faster and how to clean the carb because mine doesn’t start up after it’s sitting in my garage for I’d say six months. How do I know what gear size to get and how do I know what air filter size to get? Also, why don’t pit bikes have these mods already and what makes bikes able to handle all these upgrades? I would like to make it as fast as possible, along with learn how pit bikes work. I have a thumpstar 110cc and dr-x. Hoping you will be willing to answer my questions. You have a new subscriber.
Gear size us gonna be based on what you’re looking to get out of the bike.
@@AaronsEnduro but how do I know the center piece will fit? Like how do I get the size of the original gears middle part so I can buy one bigger and know it will fit.
So you’re looking for the centre spline size. Usually found in mm
Every bike is different, so look up your bikes manual and see what spline shaft size it is and the pitch for the sprockets to match your chain size
We can go through it one on one if you wanted ,join here czcams.com/channels/cviyKZ2Vf3IHFliwebzODA.htmljoin
@@AaronsEnduro “420*14T*Φ17 Engine small teeth” it says this for the spine shaft piece and this “14t x 43t = 428*108 Link Chain” for the chain, and it says this for the sproket “428*76*43 Sprocket” does any of this sound correct? I’m not looking to do this upgrade just yet because I’m a beginner, but I want to understand what all of this means.
Have you had any engine problems apart from the carburettor
No, and ive “swam” with mine, banging limiter the whole 9. Just dont buy shit oil, and change it frequently (like every 10ish ride hours) buy an hour meter to monitor oil changes
Really late comment. But I’m trying to find some wheel bearings for the front and rear of my x-18 and I’m having no luck. Any recommendations?
Better late than never! You should look at apollomotors.ca and see what the diagrams breakdown gives you for part numbers. Then either order from the website or cross reference the part number online!
I have a 2014 apollo 125 007 I wanna do what you do
Should I get 17 or 16 tooth for my 2020 Apollo 125cc? And I only need one when ordering from Amazon right?
16 tooth!
Been looking everywhere for new plastics but don’t know what size or whatever to get. Reply if you know please lol
Apollomotors.ca
i looked everywhere to see part 2 of gearing change - so did it go faster at top of 4th gear, and if so from what to what- thx.
I have a link in the description and pinned top comment for part 2

Apollomotors.ca
@@AaronsEnduro appreciate it!
What size is the bolt to get more chain slack the nut was a 12 but what's the bolt size?
Its a 10mmx1.0 i think
Hey man i read one of your replies saying that if its too highly geared it could overheat your engine with trail use i am getting a 16 front and 24 rear witch is very high butttttt.... i have 10 inch, wheels i know size wheels more or less change gear ratio although would the stress on the engine be the same?
The wheel size will change gearing yes, and having the smaller 10” wheels will reduce the engine load. Not only will having too high of gearing create unnecessary load on the engine, but the clutch too. This is something that will cause increased wear over time
@AaronsEnduro I have a 14 and 37 at the moment but I have the stock 70 sprocket on it with my 125 and I think I do more damage revving out in 4th and revving such short 1sts and 2nds. in trails I'm always half and half 3rd and 4th but when I get on a straight the power will run and out and on the roads and straights I can't even hold throttle full for 5 seconds without having to go half throttle cause it's revving out I think it will really unlock the 125 power and make 1st and second gear useful with a much needed top end
Aye we have the same first name my guy 🤘🏻
Its a good name what can i say 🤘🏼
@@AaronsEnduro yessir
whats the difference betwwen the 420 pitch and 428 with the sprocket and chains. and what one do you recomend getting
428 is larger and stronger than 420
Good question tho!
Did u have play in the sprocket cause when I put my 17tooth on the pin didn’t like up with the holes on sprocket and it was making my chain hop
You might have the wrong spline diameter
@@AaronsEnduro 17mm
Send me a video on instagram
Would this work on an ssr 140? and would this make it have a faster top speed ?
Yes and yes! Just find what mm spline you have ( for instance mine is 17mm)
Did you know the new z20 max comes with 16 rear 19 front I wonder if they would fit on my 19?
The z20 max has an extended rear swingarm
It shares the same rear swingarm as an rxf model(not the rfz)
Where I can buy what you just put to your bike
Ebay.con is where i got it
if you want to get a higher top speed by putting a different tooth sprocket on does it affect your acceleration?
It will! Youll loose some acceleration to gain top speed and vice versa
Only way to get more of both is engine swapping to bigger CC
@@AaronsEnduro ok thank you
If u need help with either let me know

Hey Aaron I have an Apollo Z20max and a dbx18 and I’m gonna switch both front sprockets to the 17 tooth what size chain do u suggest the 420 or 428 and what length if u know?
If you’re bike is stock 420, youll nee 428 front and rear sprocket as well as the chain
428 stuff is stronger
The chain to order is 120link
@@AaronsEnduro I appreciate that quick response bro I’m actually in the process now that was very helpful 🤙🏾
Hell yeah brother! Hope you get what you want :) thanks for watching!
Note that i do believe you need to pop like 2-4 links out of the 120 link ( which is normally what you do)
The next size down at 110 link is too short
( i bought the and used 120 link)
Would the one you used work on the 150cc version?
Yep! I put it right onto my 150 when i got it!
Which one is better x18 or a 007?
From what ive seen , the x-18
I noticed the swap was on a 150cc what do you recommend for the Apollo 125cc do you still recommend it the sprocket with 17 teeth and what chain? Thanks
The gearing depends on where you ride!
@@AaronsEnduro trails in the woods
Go down one from stock in the front
@@AaronsEnduro okay thank you and I take it the opposite if I'm just using it in the backyard and the road or just dirt trails then I would go up to the 17 tooth sprocket. And I'm sorry what was it what chain did you recommend

Which video is the follow up to this?
Cant remember which video it is lol its one of them
Can you fit a 250cc or a 350cc engine on the Apollo? I’ve been googling and no answers
If its not a horizontal engine it wont bolt up. Look up the “4fittypitty”

If I get an 18t front sprocket we’ll I need to buy a new chain?
Likely going that much bigger yea. Thats a huge front sprocket tho
@@AaronsEnduro thanks
I have the x-19, what pitch sprocket would i need to upgrade to?
I cant verify off the top of my head. Your stock chain and sprocket should have it stamped (420 or 428)
same question 😭
I've got a fuckin x pro x26. Just changed the 14 t sprocket to a fuckin 16t. Sadly of coarse lost fuckin torque and gained only about 9 mph . Good torque is good fun!
Torque is what throw’s you back in the seat!
Maybe its time to toss a 150cc in there!

What was the name of the item you installed into the bike?
A front gear sprocket! Link pinned to top comment
What do I need upgrade so I can wheelie enough torque
Do you know what size you have on your bike currently
The less teeth on the front sprocket the more torque/acceleration you have
Can you show me how to change the tire i havent rode my bike in weeks 💔💔💔
Three screwdrivers, or actual tire removal tools. Remove all the air from the tire, Break the bead on one side, (lot of brute strength, and then folding the second bead over is even “funner”) its a pain in the @$$
Aaron Greenway Im tryna comprehend what to do but i have little to none knowledge about bikes so i know if i try to do what you said ima still end up in square 1 😭🤦🏽♂️
Id just take it to a shop then
this will make first gear longer right??
Yes! It makes every gear longer
What size is the stock x18 sprocket?
To my knowledge a 14 tooth
Ive linked the upgraded sprocket pinned to the top comment
Guys if y'all are actually looking for top speed (you will sacrifice bottom end torque) you can get a bigger front sprocket and a smaller rear sprocket and will give you twice its top end performance (you will loose a lot of torque tho)
Correct! This may be good for street use, but i don’t recommend going that tall in gearing for trail use. When you roll on full throttle at low rpm it with excessively tall gearing you’re putting extra load on the engine which can result in overheating
First thing I did was switch front and rear sprockets on our rfz dbx 18's and dbx19. Put a 17 front and 37 rear. You need the 14&17 tires tho. Can check out video on our rfz's on CZcams. Search "all in one changes I've made to my apollo rfz. Ride safe...!
I have a set of 17/14” tires on their way 😎
@@AaronsEnduro best thing you could done for that bike
Can you make a video of making both your wheels/tires the same size 17" and 17" ?
U cant fit a 17” rear
@@AaronsEnduro of you extend the rear swing arm it's possible I've seen it done on an old Apollo model
What’s the max amount of teeth that will fit? A 17?
Did you have to buy a new chain to put this 17 tooth sprocket?
No, but its highly recommend to upgrade your chain from stock
@@AaronsEnduro should I get a 428 chain size
If you have a 428 sprocket set. Its either a 420 or 428 set. 428 is bigger/stronger
I don’t think I seen the follow up video did it make the bike faster by changing the front gear
Yes it did! Definitely helped give it more top end!
Maybe 5-10% more top end
Could you do this with a xr70?
Yep! Just have to find what size width gear you have!
Then you can order the right tooth count and width to match your chain
Just dont go up too many teeth as the 70cc doesn’t have too much torque
Where do i get one
Links in the description!
Will this work for a 2010 gio 125cc
Youll have to look into the specifics of what diameter inner cog you have ( for reference mines a 17mm)
Aaron Greenway thanks
Where can I get this?
linked in the description 16 tooth front sprocket - amzn.to/30trEMD
Does it work on 110?
Yep!
little late of a comment but I have a db-x4(110cc), what would you recommend for increasing top speed?
Never too late to ask questions on my channel! This gearing mod showcased in this video will be the easiest amd cheapest top speed you’ll get out of your bike
You could also get larger wheelset to increase top speed, but remember its a trade off, youll loose some acceleration to gain top speed
@@AaronsEnduro thanks! i have a little one and was wondering why it topped out at 30, felt it was a little slow but I will definitely try it out!
Those two mods are going to the the only mods to increase top speed without doing an engine swap
@@AaronsEnduro Ah nice, also where can I see he chain thing? I’m not sure which one to buy?
My only concern is if it picked up torque or decreased the torque bc I want to do some real riding, it would be very helpful if you could let me know
Sorry what exactly are you asking?
@@AaronsEnduro basically if it lost torque it will bog down more on hills and if it gained torque it will be easier for it to do hill climbs or get to its top speed better like on the take off ( 1 gear it won’t bog down as much)
That is correct. Its a trade off. What do you want more. Torque for hill climbs, or just overall top speed
@@AaronsEnduro I would like better top speed but I need lots of torque because I ride in sand and do a lot of hill climbs
Then i would if anything just try going up one sprocket size in the front. If it feels better then leave it. If you miss the torque, go back to your original sprocket. Its like 15$ for a sprocket
Can u do this on a Yamaha ttr?
Should be able to!
@@AaronsEnduro bet
thats what i was gonna ask
No reason u shouldn’t be able too! Just make sure its the right spline and chain sized sprocket
@@AaronsEnduro ya i just got my dirtbike this summer and am kinda new to all this so thx
I have a 125cc Apollo quad would this work with the quad to?
Check to see if the sprocket is the same 17mm spline and then yep it should
@@AaronsEnduro cool I’ll definitely check
Thanks for watching!
Heyyy please help !!! I have a RFZ 140cc 2021 what carb it’s the best for her ?
Vm24 mikuni!
Get a UNI air filter for it
Thanks my brooo !!!
No problem:) any questions, just ask anytime
Dont forget UNI Air filter oil and to apply it to the filter.
( only get the air filter if yours is an open air filter style)
If you have the air filter that goes into a black enclosed box u don’t need it
I have a newer apollo RFZ Z MAX 20, I wonder if they are all the same.
Very likely!! I havent seen a bike that isint 17mm you can verify it by checking what chain size you have (420 or 428)
Going up to tooth is fine
It’s perfect!
Where's the follow up to this video wanting to see if the sprocket made a drastic change or just a minor one thanks
Watch my riding enduro videos and youll see that it helped out a lil until i got my big wheel swap
Did you upgrade chain?
@@randycarrillo96 yes
@@AaronsEnduro which one the 428?
@@randycarrillo96 go read what width sprocket/ chain set you have. its stamped in the chain
I have an Apollo 125cc rfz dirtbike, whats the biggest engine can i put on that 125cc frame?
The 212 cc will bolt in. But you need the supporting mods
Engines gonna cost more than your entire bike tho
@@AaronsEnduro isnt that a predator engine?. I was thinking more a dirtbike engine like a 150cc or higher.
Thats the daytona race engine
150cc is easiest to do (watch my video on it)
Where ya from? Gotta be a canadian brother. East coast?
Canadian indeed! but we have big tree's where I'm from 😉

If I get 17 tooth I need upgrade my chain if so which one
chains are linked in the description
I just bought a brand new pit bike RFZ i’m trying to make it faster how do I do that
Larger sprocket up front
Is there a thing in the exhaust that makes it go slower that you can take out and then it will go faster?
Whats inside the exhaust can be two things. A silencer, or a spark arrestor
Did this blow up the bike? Or damage it?
No
Completely irrelevant issue
