    I would also grease where the tapered bearing race/cup sits in the frame. I saw you talked about the bottom cup but the top one did not look greased. When I rode bmx the headset was built almost the same. We would grease under the bearings and pretty much anywhere metal touches metal.

  • @daddyralte49
    @daddyralte49 Před 2 lety

    It took me nearly an hour as the wheel doesn’t drop easy like yours due to debris and a bit rusty.. inside, I used a bit oil spray on top and a small plank of wood and hummer to loosen It down.. and then put up the Handel back in locked and rocking back and forth and finally came off.. after I greased and clean up.. the creaking noise is all Gone..

  • @sebulbathx
    @sebulbathx Před 2 lety +1

    I get one small knocking noise when I brake hard and has to use the handlebar as somewhat of a support and hold against to not fall over. To be honest it don't bother me that much since I don't regularly brake that hard but if it's possible to get rid of that noise in a somewhat easy way I want to get rid of it. But I haven't really experienced any creaking noise from what I can tell.
    Anyway will this cure that knocking sound too or is it only for creaking noise?

    Almost 500kms on my Vsett 10+ and the creaking became unbearable and I'm sure it's causing extra wear somewhere. Oiled up all other moving areas around the suspension first, no luck. Finally took apart the stem and it was literally dry inside, especially the aluminum shaft part. There was some worn aluminum where the bottom of the top bearing rests on. Lucky, it appears to be cosmetic and shouldn't affect anything. I greased EVERYTHING up with car ball joint grease. Creaking is gone.

    • @escoot_nyc1651
      @escoot_nyc1651 Před 2 lety +1

      I'll answer my own question. It was the front suspension, must have been too tight from factory. I loosen it slightly and no more loud creak. Hopefully this can help someone with this same issue.

    • @strive4208
      @strive4208 Před 2 lety +1

      @@escoot_nyc1651 be careful because too loose and you risk speed wobbles. Unfortunately I have been messed with this for a month and the end result…I’m replacing the suspension with air shocks. The stock springs are not properly hardened or I got a bad batch because I’ve lost half my travel on them trying to maintain a consistent resistance. Unfortunately that noise doesn’t go away for long as well. I’m pretty sure they cut corners on the parts like those shocks to keep costs as low as possible so I would probably expect to change them out at some point. Air or oil with rebound dampers 👍

    • @escoot_nyc1651

      @@strive4208 Thanks for the advice. I just slightly loosen mine and after about 100mi still good no creak no wobbles even at 45mph. In my experience the long main stem bolt had more to do with speed wobbles. (Too tight wobbles, too loose wobbles) I got it just right and used a paint marker to mark the spot. Even though I was told by rev rides to torque it down to 80ft lbs, I found this method to work best. No creak no wobbles. Suspension is ok but definitely upgrading to oil in future. Scoot Safe.

    when is the industry gonna stop wth this ridiculous stem folding bs??
    these r machines that can hit well over 80 kph so the last thing we need is a stem folding.
    someone gotta design a stand or something so that these scooters can be mounted on a car as bicycles are currently.
    u dont see bicycles being folded as a standard.

    • @UrbanMachina
      @UrbanMachina  Před 2 lety +3

      This is a foldable electric scooter. It's supposed to fold. It's an actual feature of this scooter.

    • @okdok3742
      @okdok3742 Před 2 lety +3

      @@UrbanMachina yes i understand, i just mean to say that this feature is focused too much in this industry. when r designers gonna realize that a foldable stem, no matter how safe and/or secure is still not as secure as a solid piece and thats what these monster scooters need. this r monstrous machines with crazy power and there have been too many cases of stems braking and almost always its from the folding mech. high end scooters need to stop being foldable. the overall performance will be way better and the scooter will also be way safer. folding stems r ok for lower end scooters that dont have multiple kw's of peak power but for these beasts, they r too fast to also be foldable. ur never gonna see a tour de france competitor race on a bicycle that can fold.

    • @UrbanMachina
      @UrbanMachina  Před 2 lety +2

      @@okdok3742 we totally get your argument. This class of product started as a last mile solution, and then riders wanted more power, more range. At some point, they might as well be motorbikes. The folding feature in general, and for all scooters needs to be improved. It simply makes a vehicle more portable. The power on the other hand, is always in the hands of the rider. You can make anything faster these days. If you're riding a foldable scooter at motorbike speeds, then you need to be prepared for the worst that can happen.

    • @okdok3742
      @okdok3742 Před 2 lety +2

      @@UrbanMachina no no, no argument for me and ur completely correct. scooters did start out as last mile solutions "xiaomi"
      im just saying, like u said, "they may as well be motorbikes" which is so true. if these r gonna have the speeds of motorbikes then they should be designed with safety first and then portability. we both have the right points.
