Great vid. Remembering this event. I was an eleven year old boy and watched it on TV. Wachted his victory in Bischofshofen in the late eighties. He was on of the best US ski jumpers. Saw him live in Garmisch and Oberstdorf. I´m not sure, but I think he had a bad crash on the large hill in Oberstdorf.

Awesome video of a crazy jump!Thing were different before V-style as old style was more susceptible falls and crashes as jumpers were easier affected by gust of wind to the side etc.Just love finding this old ski jump videos being a fan of ski jumping all my life.Thanks uploader!!!

Holland's jump was zero to hero. Pay attention to how he almost loses it at the beginning to then just fly down all the way.

Its true, but the hills were still in Socialist Republic of Slovenia :D The girl(ski flying hill) and her curves are 100% Slovenian :D
