I've spent hours on this and I still can only barely get Gold sometimes. I really don't understand how people maneuver their cars so well through all the lines of rings.
Lots and lots of repetition. Also try waggling the stick around and see what motion works for you.
Sometimes just fast stick clicks into a direction are all you need

Now look, I love this game. This game is just amazing and it is also very very successful! It was the best selling game in the UK, but these ring challenges are just stupid to master. This level is on the 3rd chapter of story mode!!! It should not be this hard...
Quick question, did you use any specific parts for Sonic?
True. These challenges are too frustrating.
And I use speed stuff for sonic. However I think for the challenges it doesn't really matter what parts you use

Finally done this after 3 hrs of trying
I did atleast 25 tries then I watched your video and did it first try after it . I did it with Tails . I think my problem was that I tried to get every ring and sometimes slowed a bit down but now my biggest priority was to have enough speed and get the long lines of rings and voila did it!
Congrats ^^ Once I found out that I can negate the slowdown from the drop via blue boost I got consistently close to Platinum so I knew that I just had to not screw up and I would make it xD
Just wondering, in your opinion, would a technique character like Tails or Chao (I seem to be better at maneuvering Chao) still be possible here or are they too slow for the way this track is setup?
I think they would be fine. SInce they have better handling.
I legit could never do this level, cause I'm already getting nausea oof xD

HOW DO YOU GET MORE TIME WITH THE RINGS I ONLY GET 30 SECONDS IDK WHAT TO DO
Since its been 4 years since I played that game I dont really remember but looking at my footage I think u gotta make sure to drift through as many rings as possible and somewhat remeber the statge-to-ring layout to know when you have to realease the drift to quickly boost towards the next chunk of rings
HOW CAN YOU BEAT THIS WITH CUSTOM KEY BOARD CONTROLS
Sorry I don't know. I only have the game on switch
But I can imagine that it is like the switch version- just converted to the respective keyboard inputs you set for yourself
I have switch version as will and this one feels like a puzzle with the drift@@SassyYariKu
Are you referring to this particular level? If so it is VERY hard to get that rank on. It took quite a lot of tries for me to beat!
If you are referring to the drift in general there are 2 things to consider:
- wiggle the stick while drifting for more accurate movement (gotta get the feeling for it yourself)
If you are referring to the drift bonus cheese:
- briefly hold/ tap drift button when inside the ring, it counts as a drift @@TheSonicJnr

I should also mention there's times where it doesn't bring the time limit to go up with drift grab of rings

It is really painful to clear at platinum rank. YOu just gotta try over and over again until you get it. No real cheese tactics sadly
