This piece of art belongs to Flying Lotus, I took the liberty of uploading it to CZcams myself in order to share his amazing work and give people access to it. I don't own this. If the video needs to be removed, I'll remove it. - Hudba
This was the only CD in my car for an entire year.

FlyLo signed my copy of this Album at the last show of his I went to :) I brought it with me incase he could sign it AFTER...but I was in front Row and I held it out to him w/ a Sharpie and he grabbed it and signed it. I felt like I was a kid meeting Santa.
Thats fuckin' awesome dude :)
what a dude1!
I've met him too!!!! He's just as cool as he is in his interviews, if not, more so.
Was it a vinyl or a CD?
dafuq does it matter if its cd or vinyl...
Dear Brother, I am a sixty three years " young " dude who really enjoy your music. Great mix and choice of tunes.
fuck yeah man you got good taste that about covers it I think!
I hope I am as fly as you are when I am 63. Props Gramps. You inspire me to stay funky
yh but u listen good music too like john fahey

i hope you know you arent speaking to the artist who made the music lmao this some random person who uploaded it
First flylo album I heard; didn't care for it. Heard his other shit; fell in love. Come back to this album after a few years; it's my favorite album now. Shit's funny like that sometimes.
TheDilden yup kinda like that chick who was in love with you back in high school, but you never paid any mind to and 10 years later she's the baddest bitch in the world so now you see the hidden beauty then you try to holla and she just isn't hearing it.
Slick TrillaRReal Exactly. For real, man.
TheDilden we've all been there before homie
IMO, the music that takes some digesting is usually the one that has the most offer, whether things that sound catchy or palatable at first listen with time show to be just ear candy, easier to grow tired off.
it really do be like that sometimes
FlyLo is doing the music for the upcoming anime “Yasuke”. Its based on the life of a man known as Yasuke in Japan. Not sure what his actual birth name was. What makes his story interesting is that Yasuke was one of the only known Black samurai (of African descent, specifically) in recorded history.
Yasuke came to Japan in 1579 along with some Jesuit missionaries. He was eventually noticed by the legendary Japanese warlord Oda Nobunaga, who made Yasuke one of his samurai. Apparently Yasuke was a really big dude.
Not sure how historically accurate the anime is going to be, but bet im gonna watch it. For the music alone it’ll probably be good...but the subject matter seems pretty damn entertaining too
this seems fucking cool as hell
When's it releasing?
nicholas clark
Still no official date. I think i saw somewhere that it will be sometime this “winter”...for what thats worth.
Also should mention, it will be premiering on Netflix when it does come out.
willstreet22
Yes, more or less, except Yasuke was a real person. Afro Samurai is very loosely based on Yasuke.
I don’t expect the Yasuke anime to be historically accurate, but there is also a movie about him coming out that will probably be a little more true to his actual story.
@willstreet22 Basically. Afro Samurai was very loosely inspired by Yasuke, except Yasuke was real. Chadwick Boseman will play him in the upcoming movie.
I've played this more than 1983 times
Automatic thumbs up for profile pic
Is that even possible?
It's possible. It'd be ~47 days worth of listening to 1983 though.
Take me to the mother ship on that one. That is an amazing number. Because I believe you. You know, I have heard Aphex Twin's Drukqs more than 100 times.

desmond jackson Best comment on the internet. You get it man. I'd be very grateful if you could check out my beats and let me know what you feel. My slightly older stuff is better imo, I think I got a bit lazy. If you don't have the time though, peace anyway.
Are you a FlyLo? Because you sound like one.
Ehh, you're better off.
2 years passed and this is still the funniest comment ever
Lol
Love this shit. Takes me back man, high school summers browsing weird ass forums with some [AS] in the background as I MUNCH on some cereal and throw back some coffee. No worries man, summer times were absolute freedom and I am blessed that Flylo is a real fucking person hahaha. Turning this up right now, this is that feel good nostalgia shit.
I love when people capitalize words randomly

@@user-ew3mq5kl3v Shopongle seems too much like a Las Vegas show to me. Like where you might you go after Cirque de Soleil... just my opinion. It's ok. Just too syrupy sweet and soft for me, at least live. I get tired of the faux tribal thing. I was impressed by that Tickling the Amygdala studio track though...
Anybody else remembers hearing this in those Adult Swim bumpers from the early 00s?

Your profile pic is amazing. Is that you?
That first track has a line in it that sounds exactly like "Back to the Hotel" :D
I use this album to concentrate on academic tasks .. when it starts i just feel concentration and focus downloading into my mind and then the beat drops and commences the work
Same. I always try those "lo-fi focus" videos but they're just not *oomph* enough. Always circle back.
I used to listen to this album like 2-3 times a month through all of high school. It’s one of those records that totally stands out from anything else.
Glad this is on CZcams. Was meaning to revisit FlyLo's projects to get ready for his tour
Gracias por subirlo, ERES EL PUTO AMO :D

I wish there was a specific music genre that is just called "Intergalactic Beats" . Experimental is good, but i fw spaced out beats.

A G are you a music maker ?
There is such a genre. You just created it!
I’m so high I forgot I was listening to this, I’ve never heard this album before but I straight up have been vibing to it without even realizing. I thought it was just sounds in my head lmfao
When I first was told about Flying Lotus from a friend and found this album I couldn't stop listening to it. I literally listened to it at least once a week for almost a whole year. Still one of my favorite albums of all time. If more people listened to Flying Lotus I think the world would be a better place. His music is filled with soul and it makes you feel like it's being projected into your ears from the deepest parts of the universe.
FlyLo is really unique artist in African-American culture and in whole worldwide scene, he is already a Legend
Where in Africa was he from? I thought he was an American?
Regardless, black culture is American culture. They played a major part in building the modern world, we gotta stop degrading them to the world of tribalism they're clearly not a piece of.
I'm not a pilot, nor a sailor, nor am I a self identified 'german-american', though all of which is in my history. I'm not my ancestors. Why do we associate an entire demographic with their tribal roots, if not for subconscious reprogramming? It's this programming and lazy categorization which leads people to unironically call this genre "black people music". Is that "inclusive", or is the subconscious bigotry probably not the best outcome, so we should analyze why we do and say what we do and switch it up a bit?
If the entire world remains this ignorant, we don't stand a chance. Bigger changes are coming, in case the food shortages and price hikes alongside neverbeforeseen social 'laws' like masks weren't enough of an indicator. And those bigger changes will affect generations whose parents were unobservant today.
@@Kaleki935 the fact that you are not proud of your heritage says more about you than about others. You are your heritage and it’s absolutely ok to be proud of it, this is how culture preserved for centuries and passed down from generation to generation. When someone comes and says that we are not our ancestors, this is a step towards the degradation of culture.

orbit Brazil is my favorite but I really love this album as a whole.they create so many cool beats with different timbres and patterns, the synths intertwine with such ease and there is such a chill thing about it all, I love it.
orbit brazil is something else man !!
That and untitled #7. Soooo dope 😮💨😮💨😮💨
As unique and interesting a producer as FlyLo is, the reason I like this album because it because of how heavily it channels J Dilla. Compared to his other work this album just feels like straight Dilla worship, and it's cool to see how he built on that sound and developed it to where it is today.
You described the sound of this album perfectly. I'd also say that there is a bit of Madlib in there as well.
its the swing that really does it... sounds offset from each other create that tension and release... these beats feel like living organisms to me
A lot more Madlib than Dilla IMO.
@@grinchoi1 agreed. listening to Madvillainy shows how much Madlib inspired FlyLo.
Appreciate the upload man, your caption is very humble💯
thank you Alerroj, we need more digital martyrs like yourself ;)
I saw Flying Lotus at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
@Roof Access Yep he was.
Is this supposed to be serious?
Roof Access thanks, I still don’t get why people do these.
I was reading this simple story with baby eyes but yeah did not know about this "copypasta".. small loss of time and confidence, anyway much love man
I can see anyone doing this honestly, even if it's a copypasta. Humans are complex creatures, sometimes we want what we want.

One of the best electronic music producers of our generation
Don't know why this was taken down before but thanks for uploading it!
His best album, imo. FlyLo has consistently good tracks, but this album is easy to digest while conveying the same amount of detail as his later work.
The first song does such a good job of expressing that sense of wonder/of things to come.
You know you've got something great when it gets better with age.
playing fly lo's beat and jazzy piano music at the same time goes so well together
