Something happened about 2 months ago with these guys. Even in Las Vegas, their bottles were one per customer if they could be found at all. Then all of a sudden, someone opened the tap. There are 30 cases in a display at the entrance of Total Wine and it is back to selling for MSRP.
I was recently at big box store and wanted.to pick up a smoke wagon however I wasn't sure of the small batch vs uncut unfiltered and why some were in clear bottles vs the original. So I did the logical thing and walked away with nothing. You answered all of my questions. Now I can go back and make my pick ☺️. Thank you for this very informative video

Uncut unfiltered gets so much better after being open for a couple weeks. I had a hard time drinking my first pour but now i love it after 2-3 weeks

This is really batch-dependent, and also frustrating. If you have a batch you really like on opening, it might change out of the zone at half way down. I love the spiciness of batch 58 on opening, but the spice goes away past the shoulder. Other batches improve significantly with air.

Thanks again for this solid review on Smoke Wagon, Drew. Picked up my first bottle of Uncut Unfiltered for $70 yesterday and was pretty happy. Good job on self-editorial here as well.

Smoke Wagon stock disappeared for a couple of months, but my grocery store got a new shipment which did change the price from 52 to 55 for the Smoke Wagon Small Batch, but you can get it cheaper if you buy in bulk with other bottles. The Uncut Unfiltered is around 75 to 80 bucks and the barrel select is around 120. The bourbon is a decent pour worth the tasting if you can get it under 60 for anything under the Uncut and Unfiltered.
Picked up a bottle and enjoyed it a lot. Glad to here I got a good price on it too.
Smoke Wagon was one of my first "finds' after watching a review almost 2 years ago. Got it before most knew it existed. Even set up an Instagram account to follow them but eventually had to unffollow after getting tired of him floating in a pool drinking bourbon and smoking cigars while I had to endure gray skies and shovel snow. Bourbon still pretty darn good though, especially the uncut unfiltered which now is hard to get - which sucks

when iw as younger vodka use to be me and group of friends jam.....we bought either kettle one or chopin(best vodka ive ever tried) and absolute 100 for mixed drinks. also we were big into cognac, henny was the first shot of alcohol ive ever had which it was given to me by my dad when i got into high school to give me the rules on drinking or if i decided to do any drugs which my dad just wanted me to be safe and honest with him then i wouldn't get in trouble.
as ive gotten older i like older i turned in a beer snob and now ive ventures in the world of bourbon, i actually live in vegas so i have extremely easy and much cheaper access to smoke wagon which is nice because i really like it. ive tried normal batch, unf&unc and recently bought the uncut the younger but have cracked it

3 kids - I see why you drink! I'm a smoke wagon fan, but I've only tried Uncut/Unfiltered. Since I prefer that with a little water, I'm tempted to just try their small batch, and see if that's preferable for me - for the price and taste. I'm gonna try it.

Nice review of the core SW lineup Drew! I think that the MGP stocks Aaron uses are only partially aged in Nevada though, maybe if was only for older bottlings and he is getting freshly filled barrels at this point to age in NV... But pretty sure the barrel's first few years are still sitting in IN.
It's outstanding. Even standard straight is great every day. Might take place of Russell 10 and 1792 for everyday

I follow a couple of whiskey channels and have stumbled on to a few of your videos. You're the first one I've ever actually heard say "guns and alcohol don't mix" and that they probably shouldn't be posting them in the same picture. I've thought that for years now, and I'm glad to see someone say it on a whiskey channel. Certainly got my subscription today.

Big fan of SW line. Bourbon isn’t easy to come by in Arkansas but luckily we can easily get all SW’s.
love me some small batch -- i get a ton of apricot out of it! creamy toasted apricot.
I have to disagree on the straight bourbon. 35.00 is too much. It tastes young, sharp and ethanol. Would not buy twice. 3 out of 10 on the best day. IMHO

i find it to be kind of a joke that EVERY SINGLE review of these products have wildly different "flavor notes" by each reviewer. Some of which would be contradictory to other reviews. Its more like "bourbon releases the flavors of your last lunch from your tongue" instead of inherent flavors
Very nice review and perhaps your best. However, I think you're missing the point of marketing, or maybe just taking it too far in your mind. Certainly guns and drinking don't mix when abused, but they do go hand in hand sometimes. Just go deer hunting in Wisconsin or turkey hunting in Tennessee, you'll see what I mean. A little nip on a cold morning is part of the tradition.
As for the SW bottles, it's an old timey thing. Smoke Wagons, saloons, Wild West, dancing girls, cards, cowboys walking in and saying "bartender! Gimme a whiskey" and then pulling their 1873 Colt single action army revolver on some known horse thief that's going to hang by sundown. It's just a wild west thing, nothing more. imho That's how I see it.
If batch 126 of ucuf is representative of all ucuf then I’m not buying it ever again.

I don't the hype with this product. its MGP and it tastes very similar to all the other MGP clones like Remus and Michter. Not that special. Low value too. Should be called Smoke and Mirrors. To each his own tho.
