Being a fellow Scot & an ex Merchant Seaman with the same name I felt I had to comment. My father was also in the MN during the war & was torpedoed 2 times. I have his seaman's record book which verifies the sinking's .His book was issued before Jims which started as
R274.... my fathers was R130......Your video will remind the public of the sacrifices those men made in supporting the country & war effort.

I remember in the late 50's thru the 60's the fleet of Liberty and Victory ships moored out in the Hudson River off Tompkins Cove ,in Rock land County NY. Used to paddle out to them(illegally)dam impressive. They have a monument to them there on Route 9.I know families of lost crewmen ,sunk during W W 2. Drove me to Merchant marine after the Army. On these ships men sailed into harms way, mostly with little defense.Iron Balls.

Makes me a little more happy about the Titanic line of ships. [As mentioned by "Audacity HD", the Britannia] was lost from a mine when operating as a hospital ship. It is good to hear that it actually took out a U-Boat also!

I'm pretty sure they didn't get enough evidence to prove what Uboat that was and only proved in fact it was a Uboat. The narrator says it's because of the air intake that they prove its a WW1 Uboat because older Uboats needed air to run the engines but so did all but experimental WW2 Uboats. I can only assume they have a lot of real proof that just didn't make the tv program or they really didn't prove anything other than that was a Uboat.

As a Soldier, I really DO NOT like civvies who disturb &/or dive on military wrecks, as (to me), these wrecks are graveyards, & SHOULD NOT be disturbed. For example, how would you like me digging a slit trench where your loved ones are buried? Show respect, as not all the Sailors, Soldiers, etc., escaped the sinking of their respective ships, subs, & aircraft. Thoughts?
