My father was a history and geography teacher. When I was a child (45 years ago), he used to tell me that there was no life below 100 meters in the Black Sea and whatever sank remained the same. My dream at that time was to get a sunken Ottoman galleon out of there, who knows, one day in the future someone will achieve this...
I think you just need to get together with like-minded people to achieve what you have been dreaming about. Reach deep within to get started, we have limited time on earth.👣

This was a fantastic documentary. I wish they would have spent more time explaining some of the unique wrecks they found.
Hats off to these gents for their hard work. Finding our heritage at the bottom of the Black sea has to be as rewarding as it gets for an archeologist.
Id like to see them start to excavate the wrecks sites, especially that Greek merchantman. Even just salvaging and conserving that rudder for display would be amazing! It would be totally cool if they could collect the whole vessel for preservation like they did the Vasa.

I could've watched hours of this. With today's technology, and the brilliant minds who have a developed it and know how to use it with great precision, we now have windows into the ancient past before our eyes. Amazing and unspeakably impressive.

Fantastic trip back in time!
This would be amazing to see this with your own eyes down there. What a special experience that must be. Dude I would not want to dive 95 meters with tanks. I'm a commercial diver when I go to similar depths we do it breathing surface heliox with an umbical with voice lines, fiber optics for camera, etc. It takes 2.5-3 hours to safely get back to the surface and finish doing surface O2 decompression in a hyperbaric chamber...or as we call it a deco chamber. The entire process from leaving the surface to coming up and finishing decompression in the chamber takes about 6 hours. I wouldn't want to go that deep with a limited heliox supply. But these guys obviously know what they're doing. We have a dive supervisor who can see our depth from the surface and tells us when to climb up and when to slow down and times our water stops during deco coming back to then surface on a dive bell controlled by guys on the surface. You would have to really know your dive tables and have some expensive equipment to know your depth and the timing of each water stop.

Archaeology gives us an insight as to what future humans will be able to know about us, and what media will survive the ages. I learned how to do ceramics and throw clay on the wheel! it is a trade and an art.

he's a hands on and visual learner like me XD I'm fascinated with archeology and paleontology. I wish i had the money and the confidence in the education like college. >.< I'd rather learn on site then in a classroom with tests and stuff. If i see it,feel it, and also being taught on site..I feel I would understand and absorb the information and teachings.
You've got to build the foundation first to be trusted with the rest. It's part of the journey, and you'd learn to appreciate it. It's never too late and you have the rest of your life to do it.
You may be neurodivergent. People with ADHD, people on the spectrum etc, we tend to be this way.
I've been working on it, in ways..
Anything is about alignment tbh. So if you're not aligned with university yet, you may be at a later date, and maybe just keep focusing on what you can do NOW, cultivate that within you, and maybe also think on what you'd need in order to feel super comfy in a more structured learning environment. Or whatever other relevant things are "obstacles"..
Keep in mind that the universe, and therefore, possibilities, are infinite.
Information and circumstances you require can actually show up for you, specifically, when you are open to that.
I recently randomly came across a list of top universities for archaeology, and saw that they were all different and each program offered different things, some offered a more hands on approach, etc.
I know that in the uk, I suppose maybe elsewhere as well, there are groups where you can volunteer as an amateur, and that could be a fun way to start maybe.
I feel like the more you immerse yourself in that world, of whatever your passion is, you are basically a broadcasting beacon and relevant things and opportunities and possibilities will emerge and flow to you.
The more momentum we have built up about any thing, the more dominant and readily flowing to us it is.
So it is better to not see why you can't do a thing, and maybe focus on what you maybe could do with honing that skill or attribute, (like, confidence is good in life for all things so it just makes sense to work on that anyways), and also know what your preferences and requirements are.
Not the same subject but, I was offered for example, the opportunity to move in with someone and it would be a whole other continent, a whole new experience etc, but I wanted to feel safe doing so. So I then considered what would help me feel safe to do so, and it just make sense that I go etc. This was just out of high school (in Canada, so I was almost 18), and I had no money for these things and knew nothing about anything lol.
So after that was acknowledged, I was then thinking maybe if the person visited me here first, with my dad in the house.. I'd feel safer obvs. And but what about there tho still.. and then i considered well, he also lives with his parents so that is better maybe.. but i still didnt know travel things. His mum called me and we talked, and i felt better aquainted and more okay about things, and then she offered to pay for my flight, and she sent me a link to apply for a working holiday visa - a thing I didn't know existed lol.. and things were just all sorted for me 🤷♀️
Any time I needed a new thing, a new piece of information, a way to feel more aligned, potential ways to do stuff, I thought on it, then released that and it all came in
When we need things, we only need to identify it, or know you don't know and want to know.. and that then will flow in, be taken care of, etc
The only thing that ever stops this happening regarding any thing, is doubt, and deciding it can't be because-, and worrying etc.
If we just identify, select, decide, wonder/ponder.. etc, it can come right to you and you can keep tweaking it until it is something you are truly happy with.
Sometimes things are okay but not QUITE the thing, and as we realign within, a better more appropriate version can then show up
I've been doing this for 2 decades now, with any and everything.
Its okay to not even know anything and just know what you like, or you like things to feel and be easy and just flow, and things will come to you of that nature and you can go from there and just keep letting in awesomeness.
It gets to be quite fun tbh. And it is WAY better than having to search and work hard going against the grain, putting in so much effort for little result and so on.
I've done way too much of that too and I know which I like more 😂❤❤❤
Also btw i came across a time team episode where they went to the states and they have a thing where you can pay to get kinda trained in a short amount of time to dig up dinosaur bones..
When we have only a pure interest in a thing (no doubt or negativity), more like it and the way to it shows up pretty fast 👍❤

I am a little confused- it has been known to people that Greeks visited the Black Sea and had settlements everywhere on the coast. The Crimea peninsula has a huge Greek influence, city names, artifacts, architecture, even a Greek community... Why are these explorers acting like they uncovered something previously unknown? 😅 Kids in Ukraine study this in history classes in school.
Both ships is Norwegian. We know what we are doing when it comes to the sea!

Yes, no doubt this is interesting however, ancient history is not it. Romans, Greeks and Persians are pretty recent empires and peoples. Anything that happened in the last 2-3 thousand years should not be called ancient history. Göbekli Tepe and the Sumerians would be the starting point of what should be considered “ancient” AND “history”. Anything newer is not that ancient. Let’s try to figure out what happened to the previous civilizations that have existed way before the Romans, the Greeks, actually they were no Greeks until the 18 hundreds because Greece has never existed under one name and one territory. I am sorry if I pissed off any Greeks, that wasn’t my intention.
