Yeah if you’re just trying to get them done quick, it’s a good alternative supposedly there’s a couple of ways to make your own if you’re trying to avoid GW.
I'd recommend AK ultra matte varnish to finish those models. It will whack any bit of shine off the models. And for battletech, it would be prefect.
Padrespeaks yeah I’ve heard contrast can rub off as well.

Those look great. I don't like giving GW any of my hard earned money, but contrast paints are calling my name
