the greatest news ever! ⬇️ In the very beginning of time God created all & it was good, His plan was to have Him & His creation live in utopia. the satan deceived God’s creation so that wouldn’t happen, we choose evil. He would have been better off going to Illinois. I like his attitude that he wanted the challenge of playing for the better school but Illinois would have given him all the playing time he needed to develop, boost his confidence and showcase his skills.

2014-2015 wasn't that long ago. There were freshman that came in that contributed immediately. In the 2014-2015 D'Angelo Russell, Jahlil Okafor, and Karl-Anthony Towns were consensus all americans as freshman
Cliff was terrible at KU for whatever reason but i wouldnt put it on Bill, its just the way it goes sometimes, you dont live up to the hype. He was never the guy KU expected him to be coming out of highschool
What happened to Cliff Alexander? Kansas happened to him, there are a number of highly profile guys who went to Kansas and found themselves fringe second round pick or not drafted.
The problem with Cliff was that he wasn’t that good of a player. In scouting him, I noticed all he do was dunk or score on put backs. He didn’t have the skill set as this narrator has said. He was ineffective outside of 8 feet. He was super raw and needed to improve every aspect of his game with the exception of rebounding. He is a guy who needed 3 years at least before he even sniffed a NBA court, whether it was college or G League. Notice that his “highlight” package was all dunks. When he got to Kansas, everyone found out how much work he needed. He went undrafted after that one college year because NBA scouts realized he couldn’t play. I likened him to Thomas Robinson and Derrick Williams, two other PFs who were high picks but couldn’t play. Both of them had a good NCAA tourney and teams got enamored.
100% right. Die hard Jayhawk here. Ya he wasn’t very skilled. He needed at least 3 years to develop his shooting, passing, and dribbling. T Rob is a great comparison. Cliff’s high school highlight reel was all dunks and as soon as he matched up with plays his size or bigger he was completely neutralized. Had some potential though. KU has had a lot of great big men, but also a lot of big men that didn’t live up to the their hype…. Cliff, Diallo, Bragg, Preston, and De Souza to name a few
Love the vids just one small critique if you're not completely aware you just can't say something rarely happen or didn't happen for a time period especially if you weren't there or old enough to remember for example the hat fake out commitment been happening since the early 00s and possibly before then or notion that it wasn't common for freshmen to go crazy in college before 2014 I can easily rattle off a whole list of ones I've personally witness it's been happening since the beginning of basketball
Great video but there's 100s of guys with a similar story..they were top 100 in highschool but after highschool they didn't live up to expectations and bounced around the G League and different NBA rosters, had a cpl injuries that set them back but still had the resilience to push forward and still get paid of wut they love to do.
How was Cliff Alexander ahead of his time? No shot. All he could do was dunk and contest a drive to the bucket. Bball IQ wasn't there and neither was defensive intensity. At a school like Kansas u have to play hard and smart. As a die hard Texas fan, he barely resonates.
Actually, kbl’s foreign player roll is also heavy for him. Kbl league is not that high level, but the foreign players’ level of the league is really high. Motly, who is a g league all-star, is also in that league. And Jared Sullinger, former NBA player, also participate in this league. For me, it’s weird that he was evaluated for #4 overall when he was in high school..
I recall him being #2 and finished around 4. Wasn’t that strong of a class- he was a tweener with very little ball skill that dominated being bigger and more aggressive then his competition. He did play in the Nba though and is still playing overseas I believe. Simply rated higher then he should have been
24/7 had him at 2. That’s it. But again okafor was #1 for most of his hs career. I just don’t get the analysts, in this whole video he may have taken 8 dribbles total? One jumper ? Just rated too high
