He won the best basketball player in the state in high school. He could ball. I think they won state all three years in a row and then his little brother got to highschool right as the kid in my grade graduated and the little brothers team went on to be the #1 ranked high school team in the country. That doesn't happen from a group of kids in Utah. Like 3 or 4 kids from the #1 high school team all signed to play for BYU. One of the major reasons why kids go to bigger schools is it gives them a much better chance to be seen by the NBA scouts. Smaller colleges could limit that exposure. But if you would rather have more playing time and opportunity to be a stand out player on a team, a smaller school would probably be where you would want to go.

It’s on CZcams somewhere he says: Come to Alabama and you’ll face the best competition in the country, not on Saturday-gameday but Monday thru Friday in practice! The games will be easy after you face the best player in the nation at your position everyday at practice. Oh yeah and also if you ever become a starter here you’re almost guaranteed to be drafted into the NFL

Definitely forgot about this dude but once I saw him in the Ole Miss jersey I said to myself, “Oh yea, this jackass”, but in a kinda good way. He was a solid college player and would have fit into how the game is played nowadays (jacking up 3s) a bit better than in the past, but he had some success. He was just not athletic enough, not tall enough, and couldn’t stay out of his own way. You only get enough chances before you turn from a nice underdog story to a spoiled brat who has had 4 second chances. You’d have to be decent to be the best player on a team that won the SEC championship without much of a team around you. They also advanced past the 4 and 5 seeds in the ensuing tournament. Using FG% is irrelevant for a perimeter-oriented player. Shooting 35% from 3 like he did on very high volume is the equivalent to shooting 52.5% from 2. If he had normal volume his 3P% would probably be even higher, especially if he had a better team where he could rely on his teammates offensively. I think Marshall Henderson was not particularly close to NBA level but he was a good college player.

We basically played a read and react type offense because we had a guy who could score 25 plus a game. He was basically the whole offense every play ..but baseball was my sport ... I started in high school and college.

Funny thing Marshall was a freshman at Utah during my senior year was actually in a acting class with me. Seemed like a nice enough kid. There was like 4 or 5 basketball players in that class and were all talking about how great the team was (they weren't). All I could think to myself was guys you need to remember what Majerus' teams did before you start talking about how great you guys are. Overall my interactions with him were positive he was a little cocky but he was 18 and a nice enough guy.

Although, I can tell you that he was not drafted, spent one year in the D-League, and then three or four years overseas before going into coaching. He's currently an assistant coach at Independence Community College Kansas.

South Plains Junior College is in my hometown of Levelland, Tx. I was living in Austin at the time but had to go back to Levelland to help my grandmother after she had a nasty fall and hurt her back. I ended up going to watch SPC play one night out of chance and got to see him play. Needless to say I went to several more games and both him and that team were exciting as hell to watch.

Because although NBA guys do coast in some regular season games, when they do compete they play the best defense in the world, but their offense is so good it makes it look bad. But they switch and are so fast and tall, if they played a college team they would win by 50 easy. You would see the defense then.

For someone who is a self-appointed expert, You wiffed on Texas State. They have a very good coach, are 6-3 and beat Baylor and Southern Miss this year. Schools like UTSA, Texas State and U Houston are growing and developing better athletics and commitment from students and alumni. Highly needed in TX as state grows similar to CA system

Also, most rich kids I know didn’t turn out well. Sure they’re successful but that’s not because they worked hard. It’s because mommy and daddy paid for their education and used their money to land them a nice job or help them get their business going.
From my experience the kids that turn out the best are the ones that grow up in blue collar house holds with tight knit families and conservative values. You’re free to disagree but you won’t convince me otherwise.

South Plains Junior College is in my hometown of Levelland, Tx. I was living in Austin at the time but had to go back to Levelland to help my grandmother after she had a nasty fall and hurt her back. I ended up going to watch SPC play one night out of chance and got to see him play. Needless to say I went to several more games and both him and that team were exciting as hell to watch.

For someone who is a self-appointed expert, You wiffed on Texas State. They have a very good coach, are 6-3 and beat Baylor and Southern Miss this year. Schools like UTSA, Texas State and U Houston are growing and developing better athletics and commitment from students and alumni. Highly needed in TX as state grows similar to CA system
