Couple cool things on it to mess with. Thoughts on it?
I got good rolls of both successful warm up/gambit and repulsor/destabilizing. Personally never been a huge fan of repulsor, feel like a successful warm up/destab is the way to go. Successful warm up/gambit is fun, but suffers in both ad clear and single target damage. It's cool and fun, but feels far from optimal
I'm looking for an hip fire gambit with accuracy. I plan to outhynra Hynra
Fel Taradiddle with Archer's Tempo + Successful Warm-up is the better kinetic lightweight option. For both PvE and PvP

I don't think that would work, unfortunately. Much like running dragonfly with headstone on the pale heart hand cannon, the dragonfly would likely proc first, unless tuned to do otherwise

Finally! Someone prominent mentioning how bad lightweight bows perform from the hip on controller. It’s absolutely atrocious, feels like an oversight.
I will say even for PvE Kill Clip is a standout at least especially since only other Bow with it currently is Whistler's Whim from Trials, which also has arguably worse pairing perks in the left column in comparison with Cornered really being the only PvE option.
Similar to Volt Shot (Though not nearly as flashy) since you're reloading after every shot it basically means you're going to have near constant uptime on that 25% damage buff, and then since you're kill chaining a bunch anyway you may as well go Successful Warmup and have a fast Drawtime too. (Only downside is you have to get that first kill, which can be a problem sometimes once you get into higher level content.)
Archers Gambit can activate from ads if you let go of aim just before release. It’s tricky, the timing is literally milliseconds.
I don’t have the roll on this yet, but I’ve been using archers tempo gambit on pre Astanax for insanely fast kills because that second shot come so fast they barely have time to react. You’ll be able to do it possibly faster on Fortnite Star if you can get a good roll for draw time and accuracy, but lightweight accuracy right now isn’t that good, and precisions can get a precision and a body I believe depending on resilience checks, so the second shot needn’t necessarily hit the head.
Archer Gambit + Successful Windup is so fast I can't even control it.

FYI CoolGuy you might want to add the fact that it’s a lightweight bow that for some reason caps at 540 draw time (at least visually) even though it’s a lightweight which should cap at 500 draw time. Hopefully that helps thank you for all the weapon reviews they are always helpful.
With archers gambit and successful warmup it drops it down to like 240 or something. Cross did a review on it
@@Luketheduke12 I’m referring to the base draw time before the weapons perks. That kinda stuff matters for the beginning of a pvp engagement.
Pretty sure it's a visual glitch. The void craftable lightweight bow (can't remember name) has the same glitch, as did Arsenic Bite before it got fixed.
Since it was confirmed as a visual glitch on Arsenic Bite, I'm assuming the same applies here.
most players dont care about accuracy and want the lowest draw time but accuracy is very important, its the difference between miss shot or not many times. so what's the point to have the best draw time if you miss.
Dont oversee accuracy.
hip fire shot arent bad in close range but kinda suck mid to long distance (suck less with enough accuracy.)
Btw i have a trial bow with killclip and it aint bad, legendary bow damage suck in high end content so any dmg buff help + you always reload so it's a no brain buff
If this bow was a precision it would replace my under your skin. But it being a lightweight kills it for me. Imperial needle. Bad. Letho. Nope. Under Your skin is amazing and it's 100% because its a precision. Pre astryanax is a precision, it's great. Same for strident whistle and Non-Denouement. Such a shame
Which is funny because I feel the same way but according to Bungie and the recent BUFF to Precision bow damage showed that more people use Lightweights I guess ultimately due to them doing more DPS?
Personally I've always liked Precision because I've liked each shot to be impactful. Although Fortunate Star is kind of growing on me (not sure why) but I think once I've figured out the roll I want and grab any unique combos it may sit in the vault, at least until Destabilizing Rounds get's some form of a buff.

Lightweights actually have the best sustained dps but it's never gonna feel good to use a bow unless it's one shotting
Will never use a bow if it's insanely off hitting minimum draw time. That's the only reason for pre astryanax to exist.
Lethophobia is actually dope cause of attrition orbs. Try it out
I got the minimum draw time arrow + string + masterwork with successful warm-up and archers gambit, but I seriously doubt that the game actually lets all of those traits combine at their full strength
Sadly there's a cap. Azectross has a bit more detailed frame by frame but there's an eventual cap even with the scalars.
Wish it didn't cap as that would make this thing unique for fastest Bow in the game. But it does cap. I'd just go for kill clip plus warm up. Descent dmg boost on red bar clear. But save a capped speed bow in case this frame gets buffed in the future 😉
There is always a chance that Bungie will give this frame a buff, and I enjoy how it feels to shoot, so I'm going to get a decent roll but not farm for a 5/5

I hate how weighted the drop rates are to the bow. Multiple times all 5/6 of my weapon drops have been bows. There is nothing in that perk pool I will be sad to miss, while the shotgun and rocket launcher do

I think I'm the only lightweight bow frame enjoyer in the world. They feel good to me, I like to hip fire them. Complete aside, words like "volatile" are an interesting indication of where you first encountered the word. Coolguy pronounces it like a regular american, kinda like "volatohl." I think I must have read the word before I ever heard it cause I've always pronounced it the way the brits do despite also growing up in america. dialects are cool
Kill clip has caught my attention on this bow. If bow is in the artifact next episode I might use it

Nobody (the majority) uses 120's in PvE or PvP.
I wouldn't dream of bringing a 120 into pve but in pvp 120s are my weapon of choice

@@regen6097 you get that one for PvP - had to check Trials weapon charts and it sits at 2% of kills.
The most optimal stat spread is Polymer with a Draw Time MW. That’s 5 more Accuracy than an Elastic + Accuracy MW. And boy, do Lightweight frames need Accuracy.
I was having a lot of fun with repulsor and gambit on a gyrfalcon's setup. really annoying that you have to do something to break invis before you can get the volatile proc though - drawing the bow does not break invis.

I'm a big precision bow fan. I dont like lightweights at all. I'm still not totally sold on Tyranny of Heaven, despite its abikity to make entire rooms explode. I just plain don't like them, and I think it comes down to feel. The damage, or lack thereof, is also a factor.
But if this was a precision with the void wombo? Or dragonfly/destabilizing? Oh maaaaaan, I'm there! Such a good combo on Word of Crota

I will go for an Repulsor Brace/Archer's Gambit roll for my Gyrfalcon hunter.

I’m personally going for a roll with Repulsor brace and Archers gambit, on void or prism warlock I just chuck grenades, spread volatile with the bow, and shoot it super fast cause of AG, which leads to more grenades

A better lightweight kinetic bow (craftable too) is Fel Taradiddle. If you're going for draw time, you can combine Archer's Tempo AND Successful Warm-up. Usable in PvP and PvE
I like Repuslor/Kill for Gyrfalcons Hunter
Hipfire + Archer's Gambit for PvP
Watching this video has made me realize this bow was the Unfortunate Star of the review and event.
Destabilizing Rounds still feels absolutely awful.

Enlightened Action / Kill Clip feels pretty good if you have the 540 string
I was thinking, successful warm up and Golden tricorn would make a pretty decent combo for a void build using volatile rounds. 50% damage increase and faster fire rate would be some healthy DPS.
I saved one for my gyrfalcon hunter. On paper it sounds decent.

I have a kill clip / air trigger, and I like air trigger on hand cannons, but I wonder if that 'target acquisition decrease' will really impact bows. What do you think of air trigger on this?

A bow is extremely fast TTk.
How?
Well you already have it drawn B4 u engage, now first shot is instant, draw time is your second shot. This is the kill shot, lightweight literally makes peak shooting easier.
If you think of it as your first is instant, it cuts your TTk to .54 for first and possibly faster on your second given you have a second between kills.
The bots are crazy on this one.
I genuinely wonder what the design philosophy for lightweight bows was- I feel I remember them stating they were meant to be the fast-aggressive bow type? I'm not sure- I would like to know what they could do to make lightweight bows better in a way for the players where they won't step on the toes of the precision frame

i got archers tempo archers gambit on it which was fun for about 2 shots
I’ll stick with Monarque or Under Your Skin if I want a void bow. Until they get rid of the cooldown on destab, I’d rather use something else.
I grabbed a few rolls and vaulted them, but having the raid bow crafted just makes this thing feel so weak in comparison
I’m gonna get a Destabilizing/Repulser roll just in case they get rid of the cooldown for destabilizing
I mean as far as void bows go it's great, but it's still a bow so it's gonna be niche unless Bungie decides to juice them to be budget special weapons in PvE

For pvp i always use legendaries, bc monarque or wish are a bit too cringe to use against other players

its kinda cool but Elsies rifle just does everything better. I'm keeping one just in case they have an artifact with bows and void on it but beyond that its not that great.

Lightweights feel bad. Not enough advantage, mechanics and stat wise, to offset that weak damage.
they just buffed precisions in pvp which were already the dominant bow archetype there. with that in mind, i'm going to keep one disruption break roll because even the slightest buff could take it over the edge. outside of that, i have a successful warm-up/kill clip roll that's pretty neat, and i'm gonna grab one with destabilizing rounds just because it's the only aoe here and bows really need aoe to compete with other primaries in pve
In their TWID they mentioned the reason for the buff was because it wasn't the most dominant because Lightweights apparently are. Not sure why either as I also prefer Precision but their reasoning is that via their statistics, not many people use Precision bows apparently.
@@ROFLWAFFLELAWL4 i'd love to see those statistics because that seems odd to me. as far as i'm aware it's a rare situation for a lightweight frame to be better than a precision frame. maybe i'm just out of tune with the general population of the game?
@@TheDeerInTheHeadligh It's because after the HP update and bow nerfs, both Lightweights and Precisions required two headshots to down a target whereas before, Precisions only required one headshot plus a body shot. With the buff to Precisions, they should be able to 1 Head 1 Body again which will likely put them back on top.
The frame could get a buff and I don't see anything wrong with Lightweights as they r for PVE. Shrug

Bows should either have been all precision or all lightweight. The kind of weapon that bows are do not lend themselves well to the "fire faster and less accurately for reduced damage" paradigm that the rest of the game adheres to. You can tell that they wanted Lightweights to be mid-close range, hip-fire combat centric and Destiny just doesn't let that sort of thing work unless it's something crazy like Last Word.
With the increase in HP making Disruption Break meaningless on these things, they basically lost the only reason for running it unless you're really wanting that 20 virtual Mobility.
Bungie nerfed the accuracy of lightweights so they are pretty useless now, expecially in PvP, but also PvE zt range.

The 3 second cool down on destabilizing is a travesty. Kill clip is the pick. But overall this bow is mid. Another failure by Bungie. Not surprised anymore
Bows are just shit in general, it’s rare when I see people carrying around a god roll how despite its archetype because every other option in the game is just much better. There is like one bow worth using in endgame
Personally, I've been using the bow with Archer's Tempo + Precision Instrument with a Gyrfalcon build and its really good. I do have an Archer's Tempo + Kill Clip roll, but it's not really clicking with me unlike how Precision Instrument is clicking with me.

As a former Bow Main it hurts how hard they nerfed bows... it pretty much eliminated them as a PvP pick altogether.
Two seasons ago you actually had to search for a weapon with Destabilizing Rounds and Repulsor Brace together but now it just feels like a default combo for void guns and a default hunt
I'm not gonna change your preferences but I'm PvE lightweight bows are objectively better than precision frames.
Faster TTK and often better traits (a lot of damage traits and utility traits).
Bungie also just buffed precisions because in the current PvP sandbox most people were using lightweights.

Bows will never be meta. Why use a bow that takes a full second to draw, fire, reload, draw and shoot gain when I can use any other primary and get multiple shots off faster. Not enough damage against majors, one shots minors like any other primary. U get destabilizing rounds but so does other HC scouts or pulses. And that remains true for incandescent and voltshot. Then in pvp 100% crit shot requirment and over a 1 second ttk. Even with a max draw speed and perks the best bows only reach a 0.9 ttk. Which requires a hip fire crit or a kill already. Then u lose damage if held to long and becomes less accurate, followed by a forced shot. Bows were a cool idea but the need a complete rework to compete for the space that scouts and pulses occupy. Right now only Bows worth anything are Le monarch and trinity. And the is exclusively pve.
