- In this week's TWID, Bungie announced the new artifact mods we'll be receiving in Act 3 on Tuesday reset, and as it turns out, Auto Rifles are getting a massive buff with these new mods. So that begs the question, what is the best Auto Rifle in Destiny 2? Well today we are taking the top options and running them through a series of tests to get our answer!

I see a lot of comments about Centrifuse. I just don't like that thing because it's a 450 which is a very weak archetype. And it doesn't have a damage perk, so it just stays weak. It can be good for easy content, but I don't think it can really compete with the others in more mid level content.

Prosecutor is an arc 450 but can get enhanced dragon fly + enhanced frenzy or voltshot. I have dragonfly/frenzy, but still prefer my come to pass for feel
I have a Summoner with Heal Clip, Onslaught, small bore, ricochet, and range mw. Best PVE gun I have ever used. Its almost a complete heal on every add kill.
What's that void 600 w/ onslaught and rewind? How does that one stack up with a gyrfalcons?
For this vid it doesn't matter too much but I do hope you try it once everything comes out. having blinding/double explosions and jolt on a single kill sounds good. At least on paper I'd take it over necro with the blinding

Also Necrochasm cursed thrall explosions are arc damage. Therefore they can proc the lightning effect of the 5th collumn artifact perk that arc damage kills conjure a thunderstorm that jolts targets. You can apply jolt and poison onto a major to then kill them quicker
Centrifuse + Getaway Artist is gonna be bonkers. Galvanic Armor + the auto resist. Blinding explosions. Need I say more

As an auto rifle lover and sweet business master, this new artifact has me excited like no ones business. If these new artifact perks are as good as they seem, I go hope one day one of them gets added to AWR

I think Markov Chain x5 is like +65% damage rather than Swash x5âs +33%. At 2:31 the red bar crit at x5 is 5474. At 2:54 with no buff itâs 3318. Hopefully my math is right. It doesnât change the conclusion though. Monte Carlo has been power crept and isnât the monster it used to be. Iâd love for it to get a little rework because itâs one of the best feeling guns in the game.
Yeah back when shadow keep launched, Bungie nerfed all of the damage perks in half, so regular swashbuckler used to be 65%. Now it's 33%.
But Markov chain was left alone because it's part of an exotic, so yes it is 65% which is great because it hits super hard
Monte Carlo is perfect right now. Itâs really good and the Meta Only losers havenât found it
â@ApexChrisHansen Slightly more range than Kvostov, gives constant melee uptime, high cal just feels like it actually works on monte compared to other weapons. Monte has been my favorite PVP auto rifle since D1.

I was thinking that myself, but decided to check and Foundry has it listed at 33%, so I figured I was wrong.

Ros Arago is the best legendary option. Centrifuge always felt weak tbh.
Monty Carlo with titan gonna be crazy
Khvostov is a clear winner to me vs. Necrochasm. It has built in Target Lock AND Shoot to Loot, so it's automatically better on single target and has utility. It's much more stable and feels way easier to use...Necrochasm still has issues proccing it's perc consistently since it's so high RPM and requires a precision final blow (especially on controller).
I completely agree and use both extensively⊠I like nechrocasm but Khvostov puts in a lot more work than it seems.
I have been using it to knock out the Solstice orbs of power bounties.

I agree, but as a fellow controller player I donât find nechrocasm to have bad recoil and actually like it almost as much as Khvostov. I think the problem for nechrocasm is that orbs are just way too easy to come by and it makes the splash it has irrelevant
I prefer necro, feels smooth as butter to me, and not only that, but while kvostov has shoot to loot and target lock(?) I like necro because

#2 it has built in chain reaction, firefly, and poison ticks
#3 Even tho I don't quite have the catty yet (like 30 oversoul) the catty makes it even better.
i really hope they are using this as a test to see how ARs would perform when properly buffed and balanced in their correct spot, cause ars have been mid for a very long time now, so im super excited for these mods
Psyched to try my Prosecutor with enhanced voltshot and enhanced dragonfly. FYI, itâs available in the first encounter in the Prophecy dungeon this week. Easy to solo farm.
Easy to solo farm, not so easy to actually get the darn thing to drop lol. Best I've gotten was a Dragonfly + Target lock roll. Today I farmed for about 6 hours and haven't gotten a single Prosecutor to drop lol.

I fell in love with prosecutor with rewind rounds and target lock. With the season perks, the dark buff, the target lock max buff, it shreds
The best auto rifle for target auto loader would be the Krait with subsistence and veist stinger. The weapon already doesnât need to be loaded as long as there are ads and with this new mod!! Sheeeshh!!! Overpowered good mode right there!! My favorite auto to use to this day lol good for pve n pvp
Something else about Tommy's Matchbook, it could work relatively well on prismatic with Facet of Purpose and running golden gun. Picking up an orb of power will grant Resto and you could run Harmonic Siphon to get orbs of power with Tommy's.
Been spending the entire day farming the first encounter of Prophecy and have gotten 0 Prosecutors in the last 6-7 hours. Its kind of insane that it just hasnt been dropping at all the moment I decide I want to farm for a nice Voltshot roll.
Only pulse rifles and armor? No way the auto didnât drop in 6 hours of runs only take a few minutes with a group
I wouldn't waste any more of your time. Legendary auto rifles are pretty mid.
Overload for auto rifles + headstone for shattering Unstoppables. Seems like Veiled Threat would be at least worth the discussion. I get it would be situational but there are usually enemies around an unstoppable to proc headstone. đ€·ââïž
I believe the kinetic weapon damage bonus was removed with the final shape, so strand and stasis weapons will be dealing the same amount of damage as kinetics and quicksilver catalyst is worth equipping if you're using it
Only against bosses. Against anything Champ and below kinetics will still do more damage.

@@itzameaguy8862 If you only intend to use one weapon then yes. Otherwise you'll have an easier time charging transcendence if you have a darkness weapon in your kinetic slot.
I think Bungie should allow us to equip kinetic weapons into the second slot as well at this point

@Welverin I see, but wasnt the entire point of Quicksilver to be good against bosses, personally id rather take the catalyst and pair it with unravil
@@nicegamer4883 That has nothing to do with Quicksilver specifically, and was a general change to kinetics.
The artifact perk Sustained Fire makes me think that that could be a Sweet Business catalyst change, could be fun!
If Iâm not mistaken, I believe the nechrocasm explosions deal arc damage⊠so as long as youâre on an arc or prismatic subclass with an arc fragment equipped youâll proc amplified and also the jolting lightning bolts from the cursed thrall explosions.
Don't forget we will also be getting shock and awe back, which means every kill from a cursed thrall explosion on Necrochasm, which are arc damage, will also be applying jolt and deal some extra damage

I wish I could get a team together to get my necrocasm catalyst. Every LFG group I try no one seems to need it or they are doing Crota teaching runs and we can barley get through Abyss never mind getting the caty.

3:45 Im pretty sure this was changed with TFS with the removal of the Kinetic bonus in favor of kinetic having advantages on Prismatic, thats why there was a commotion of certain weapons like Izi's getting nerfed despite it not being listed in patch notes
I think they just removed it for bosses which is why it hurt Izi and wardens law lucky pant. Kinetics still do reduced damages to shields and bonus damage to all unshielded non-boss enemies (included champions, which wardens law still annihilates with lucky pants)
I live under a rock !! I enjoy my 7 Sereph in my kinetics slot and Ammit in the energy slot, love the Kovo also.
Man seeing particle on the thumbnail makes me miss it, i really wish it could come back with a champion fusion mod
I need the necrocasm catalyst, but necro with necrotic grips is gonna be awesome with these mods.

Tommyâs with speakers sight on a prismatic warlock with devour makes the burn no issue at all. Iâm really looking forward to getting an even stronger Tommyâs for the build
I've tested the few arc auto rifles I have and so far the winner is one called Come to Pass, which has exceptional range. Centrifuse was a disappointment even after I activated the catalyst. Not only is Come to Pass better, but I can pair it with Thunderlord as power weapon. That combination with a Fallen sunstar build around ionic traces is looking pretty good in light of the new artifact mods.
What perks do you have on your Come to Pass?
@@R377R0 Genesis/Adaptive Munitions/Psychohack and it has a range of 93. But after running a few different autorifle builds with the new artifact mods, I ended up ditching the entire concept because they seem less overpowered than everyone was expecting.
Reverted to solar Warlock w/Starfire Protocol, a BXR-55 Battler pulse rifle, and Dragon's Breath heavy. That combo is giving me better results than any of the autorifle-centric builds I tried.
Void gnawing hynger is also super good def on that tommies match book tho with dawn of choros
I think Suros Regime will have some good use this time around, eill defintely try it.

â@@julioforessi1336centrifuge in the right setup, absolutely destroys as head clear. I have to correct you on that one.. Yes it's a very niche build, but boy does it do that one job of killing heads like no other when you build into it.
It should definitely have been listed, next week it will be so strong in that one niche build, you'll see like 7 build videos next Wednesday đ

Season of the deep that gun was a monster with the catalyst and arc class for amplified. Now we have prismatic.
Hard disagree on the Catalyst-less Quicksilver. Objectively, sure without it it deals 10% more damage to unshielded enemies, but you make up for that damage and then some with the ability to make Tangles off GL kills. Also itâs Strand so it can pair with Prismatic/Strand and some of the artifacts.
Exotic autos are in such a fantastic place right now, and we have some really solid legendary options as well. Truly a class of weapon where it feels like there's multiple options for any one build

I've been using a Rod Arago IV that I got as ground loot with rewind rounds and onslaught. It absolutely shreds already. I'm excited to try it with the new artifact mods.

Tommy's will be "top tier" if kills refreshes the entire magazine. Precious scars builds would essentially be getting actium war rig for free. :)
Oh, and when you do use actium war rig and say "fuck it" you can burn through practically everything as you are near death constantly :)

@3:54 They changed it so stasis/strand weapons do the same 10% more damage that kinetic does. You dont need to keep it on kinetic anymore.
Ma boi hard light? Can extend radiant and restoration in solar mode, can do volatile rounds in void mode. The bouncing bullets help clearing ads

Necrochasm is going to be Disgusting with Targeting Autoloader, in addition to One For Thrall.
Physic no longer gives restoration x2 unfortunately. Just makes it so the target AND you get restoration x1 as opposed to just the target getting it.
Love the recommendations but what's your thoughts on arc autos like prosecutor & sweet sorrow with the shock awe artifact perk ?
I hope they buff quicksilver storm. It was by far the most fun auto rifle and they straight up killed it.

Markov Chain isnât the same as Swashbuckler - itâs 65% at 5x stacks (itâs like Huckleberry which similarly uses a juiced version of Rampage).

Technically, pre-nerf Rampage and Swashbuckler. Monte Carlo and Huckleberry got the old exotic exception.

Great damage testing explanations and build vids always cover the essentials - Character stats to shoot for, Sub Class/Fragments/Aspects, Weapons, Armor mods, Artifact, play style, synergy, exotics etc....Appreciate the hard work!

IMHO it depends on your build and what you want to do. Necrochasm with Necrotic itâs still amazing, Khvostov with facet of grace build your transcendence meter very quickly. They are both top tier options, it really depends how you want to play.
I am not a fun of centrifuse but the artifact itâs going in that direction, we have to play with it and see
I've always been a huge Autorifle fan in D2 so this upcoming buff should be nothing short of a total blast! Great break down!
