I know nobody is ever going to read this but i just need to let this out. There is always that one person you'll love forever. The things you felt for that person, it never really goes away. You try to look for that person in every body you meet. The fact that you guys are not together doesn't make the feelings and the love go away. Even when you're with somebody else, you find yourself thinking about that one particular person. There was just too much to be said, to much to be done. I just hope I find my way back to that person. Or maybe not. But I just hope it gets easier. That I don't feel this way forever. I just hope.

I have lost my cat 7 months ago, when I listened to this song it reminded me of him he's my everything I loved him and I will always love him. I could not have another cat because I'm not brave enough to go through the same feelings I felt when he passed away. songs and music always help me.
You know, I lost my cat a year ago, and it's still raw. She was my best friend for 16 years, was with me through several moves, and I have so many regrets I didn't spend more time with her, and how she died (I left the door open one day when I was in a hurry, she followed me out and was struck by a car before I realized). I don't think I could stand to have another cat, for the same reason you just said.
I thought I was the only one who thought of a lost (non-human) friend when I listened to this song, and for a long time after she died I couldn't listen to this at all -- this is one of my favorite bands, but this is my first listen since it happened. I'm sorry you lost yours, but I admit I'm glad to know someone else 'gets' it.
Maybe they weren't _human,_ but people who say 'it was just an animal' either never had the experience, or just aren't capable of understanding that we really do get as attached to them as we do our family and friends.
Aww I'm so sorry. I lost my kitty, way too soon. It's been a year and 3 months. She passed away when I was pregnant with my son. She was there with me to help me grieve when my mom passed away. I always spent a ton of time with those who meant a ton to me. She was one of them with me. She was there through everything I went through and she helped me with anxiety, and depression. She was my best friend, my everything.
December 13 I had to say goodbye and this song is my song to her. I'm not exactly sure how she passed away, I had come out of the shower and she was alseep in her bed. I knew something was wrong cuz I would call her name or jiggle keys and she would always perk her head up and look at me. That time she didn't. I miss her so much and I talk about her everyday with my husband.
She's not fully gone, I still talk to her. I miss you Rexie, I'll always love you and will never forget about you. You are always on my mind. Rest in peace baby girl. ❤️❤️❤️

My brother lost the love of his life in a car accident when he was in high school. It’s been 13 years and he’s never had another girlfriend. I never could relate with him. It was a pain I could never have understood until it happened to me. I know this is life and it happen over and over as time passes, but all I really know is that I’ll never be the same.

I discovered this song shorty before my grandma passed in May. She died a week before her birthday. Thing is, I never knew how much this song would mean to me if and when she had passed… some weird stuff has been happening around my house too during the day and at night. I can’t explain it. I don’t know much about spirits and ghosts and the possible afterlife… or there being one at all.. but I feel like I can feel her all around me and by listening to these guys, it kind of makes it all more real for me.
I miss and love you grandma. You were a special kind of crazy soul and I still can’t believe you are gone. Some days I am fine. Some days are excruciating and so difficult for me. You always did say you would look after me if you ever passed… I listen to the voicemail you left me before going into the hospital almost every day and every night. My favorite of theirs. The soft opening going into a sorrow filled versus that you can feel the longing and pain that you only know from losing someone you truly loved before an explosion of sound like a gust of wind. It feels me with such sorrow and comfort all at once. It is honestly a true work of art

I'm a very new listener to Lord Huron, but I've noticed a few of their songs mimic the style of older artists. "Meet Me In The Woods" has a very Bruce Springsteen sound to it, and this song could seriously pass for a long forgotten Simon and Garfunkel piece. It's amazing.
