I had my first in 1982. Only way to get him to sleep was Stevie Nicks Edge of Seventeen. I babysat when my kids were young. One baby had colic, poor guy. But once I turned on James Taylor, he would be quiet and calm down. Music is magical!
What I really enjoy about this band, is that the music tells a story of its own, along with the lyrics that accompany it. The connection between the two is a feeling that's genuine; one of a kind. Like all great things should be.
All great music by some of the best in the industry in my era of 70’s ...like this band it’s all about the emotion. This band has it consistently with every song.
Strange Trails literally reads like Odin fan fiction (that's not a criticism, I fucking love it). Like, whoever wrote the songs tripped balls in the woods of California and met Odin the Alfather. Why was Odin, a Nordic god, in the California woods? Who knows, he wanders. But anyway, someone had an encounter with him and they've been writing about it ever since. It's fantastic.
yeah I streamed 5,678 in 2018 of this song I was in a dark spot at that time and I listened to it all the time and fell asleep to it . Listen to say out there and yawning grave

Well some folks say nobody makes great music anymore. I listen to "The Night We Met", "When the Night is Over" and I have to say, this is some of the finest music I have heard in a while. A mix of Roy Orbison, Chris Issak, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and the wonderful, late Hal Ketchum rolled into one fantastic and talented group of musicians. Keep up the fabulous work.... I live in Colombia and songs in English are rarely heard, but I heard this work of art and I became a fan of Lord Huron, I am a soldier and when I leave the battalion home I listen to this song at full volume the whole way, they seem to last forever, It is magical, it is calm, it is epic and it is inner peace.

Saw them last night in Seattle and I have to say these guys are incredible live! Such a visually stunning show and the feeling of being surrounded by these sounds is something everyone should experience.
This is my absolute favorite song. I discovered it 2 1/2 years ago when I met the loml. We were long distance and would travel 2 hours back and forth before we moved in together in January 2021. I listened to this song the whole way driving home after the first night we stayed together and made it official and sobbed because I had never fell in love with anyone before and it felt like torture driving home. I’ve never loved anyone more and now we have been together 2 1/2 years, happily, and just bought our first home together. I want this played at our wedding someday. It’s the most gorgeous song to me.🥺❤️
Awesome! And well said. Thanks for sharing such an endearing snippett of your life with complete strangers. I couldn't be more envious and ecstatically happy for you at the same time. God bless you and your true love forever.
This will become a lullaby I sing to my children one day. The melody is sweet and beautiful with a light haunting lyrical message. It's a song I will carry with me for a long long time and hold dear to my heart. Thank you, Love ya Huron ❤
The sound editing on this masterpiece is amazing, I'm always shocked by how every part intertwines with one another and how every note is exactly where you'd expect it to be, and yet it takes you by surprise. Absolutely love this song
AMC used this song to remember those that had left us in 2022 and I loved it so much. Today I heard this on my play list and I started crying at the first note. I love the melancholy of the love past and lost.
I have been listening to this for 2 weeks straight in the car. I can feel the high hat cymbal and guitar tremolo effect. The words are so pretty and I love the drums/bass and voices together. It is all true magic. A wonderful sensory and emotional experience over and over.
One of my best friends passed away six days ago. The music from this band has gotten me through fits of crying, moments of sorrow, and the fear of my inevitable reunion I will have with the black void.
I was browsing a bookstore when this song came on...it immediately took hold of me and I couldn't get out out of my mind. I walked through the store longer than planned, just to listen to the whole song. I only knew of one other song of yours, so I didn't recognize this one as a Lord Huron song. Left the store and immediately Google searched for it... only to find it was Lord Huron. Of course! The 2nd song I've heard and now I'm officially a fan. Going through all your songs now. Amazing talent. Your music speaks to my soul.
You had me at bookstore! I don't one what you've listened to already, but some personal faves are yawning grave, night we met, love like ghosts, meet me in the woods, way out there, and until the night is over. 😊
this song deserves a lyric comment My one and only love I've been lonely long enough Will I find you when the night is over? Tell me where did you go? Driving to Michigan from KY during Covid lockdown because my mother / my best friend had to have emergency surgery that I wasn't sure she'd survive and my Amazon Tool/A Perfect Circle/Puscifer playlist played this! I've been playing Lord Huron during the drive BACK to Kentucky for MY post-op appointment and back to Michigan to help my mom when she gets out of the hospital! She's doing great! THIS music got me out of my head and away from the monkey mind and into my heart! SO healing and incredibly gorgeous! Thanks Uni-verse!
It was a week ago exactly. Long hot day that took forever to come. I dreaded the day and knew it would be hard. I sat there with 4 songs playing repeatedly and this was one of them which before then I have never heard of before. This is a surprisingly beautiful song when you really think about it. I saw my dad for the last time. Love ya Dad.
I can not describe to you how this song makes me feel. It has such a unique and amazing feel to it. I love listening to it late at night when I just want to think.
This song sounds like somebody who was killed in the woods at night and brought back to life by some sort of eldritch entity. He wonders from the forest, into the city he once called home, and thinks of his wife. As he walks through the empty city in the early morning hours, he begins to see a new plane of existence that was always there, but he never saw before, hence the emerald in the sky. It's the beginning of some sort of apocalyptic event, brought on by the entity. At 4:20, he stands on a cliff side overlooking his city, wind whipping through his wet, undead hair, with a solemn, peaceful expression, as a green sunrise comes over the horizon in front of him, over the city. The green sunlight is on his face. His eyes are glowing green.
Are you a writer, man? Because the scene you set in just a few sentences was vibrant and alive in my mind. You really ought to do something with that vision. Cheers!
I absolutely can't get enough of this band. They are addictive. Hope they have a concert somewhere in Arkansas because I know I will have to get a ticket to go. Keep them coming Lord Huron you have a new fan!

My ex from my entire 20s just sent this to me. I am/we are NOW 53. I always wonder if songs like these are the way he feels about someone else or me. Thanks for posting lyrics. Easier to understand as I listen!🙌 And I tend to think he's really thinking about someone else. Maybe nobody. But definitely NOT me!!😂
“My one and only love, I’ve been lonely long enough…will I find you when the night is over?..tell me, where did you go”? Jesus…never related to something more
LOVE Y'ALL! I took my kids on a road trip and we listened to your albums so much we knew them word for word and everytime we hear them now it reminds us of all those mountains and valleys we passed.
I feel that someone passed on, someone who was very loved and it was sudden. I get this recurring theme with many of their songs and merch images. Very other-worldly that I can relate to. Makes me feel connected to my own recent and deep loss. The night is when that connection is the strongest. I also feel the weather change and understand my favorite line...."when the ocean drinks the sky and the city winks its eye, when the night is done, you'll vanish in the sun"
For the past two years, when I've been driving back from Mardi Gras and hit Horse Cave, KY this song had come on my playlist totally random. Is about 5 miles from where my first love lives. Weird, mystical, beautiful.
Lord Huron is just pure....CLASS. I will never tire of their music, so well-crafted, unique, challenging at times and just sublime. Thank you guys- you kept me sane through the pandemic and I hope to see you live some time in the future when you're next in the UK
Listening to this song (and the whole vide noir album) while working alone in a warehouse on night shifts. It makes me feel less lonely despite it being a very lonely song
This song is reminiscent of my first acid trip when I was walking down the street and saw a green light change to red with no cars there. Teared up a little bit, made me think long and hard about life
My neighbor was playing this song. I had to text him to ask who it was. That was 6 weeks ago. He finally sent a response today.

Your neighbor should send me his playlist
Could have used Shazam and saved 6 weeks...
You have a shitty neighbor
I feel like this is perfect for just cruising an empty city at night...
It is. Done it.
Yeah and what's funnier is that in my city there's one building that shines a green beacon into the sky. Like an emerald in the sky.
Yasssss

I wish “The Night We Met” would last forever. Just heard that for first time today, & I can’t get enough of it. I really like this group
Yeah this song carries a rolling melody that just doesn't seem to end, the weirdest compliment I've ever given a song I can't stop listening to.

The point was for it to be absurd, to match the theme of the song, and the album

This will become a lullaby I sing to my children one day. The melody is sweet and beautiful with a light haunting lyrical message. It's a song I will carry with me for a long long time and hold dear to my heart. Thank you, Love ya Huron ❤
I love that description, Laura lightly haunting lyrical message. Sends chills up the spine.
im crying to this comment
The sound editing on this masterpiece is amazing, I'm always shocked by how every part intertwines with one another and how every note is exactly where you'd expect it to be, and yet it takes you by surprise. Absolutely love this song
LOVE his music. Omg, it makes me feel like I traveled back in time to a Western. It just screams old Western to me and it's breathtaking
Exactly what I have been thinking!💞

It’s called Twin Peaks
Twin peaks meets the killers
Ennio Morricone?
My Dad passed away a few weeks before i found this song, and when that "i feel the weather change" starts I lose it
The kinda song you just kinda stand in place, eyes closed, swaying back and forth, and really feel the music
This video so perfectly captures the VHS era and all of its cheaper awkwardnesses.
AMC used this song to remember those that had left us in 2022 and I loved it so much. Today I heard this on my play list and I started crying at the first note. I love the melancholy of the love past and lost.
Who is still listening to this song? Everyday… FAL❤
I'm 67 and I like this song and others from his group.... they played it as the song of those that passed away in show business for 2018 on TCM.
I've been listening to this song in repeat for a week since I found it. I don't think I would stop.
I will always be grateful to 13 reasons why for introducing me to this amazing specimen
I was a fan before 13RW and I’ll never forget screaming loud enough to wake the dead when I heard them use their song
Ohh so true ❤️
What a Great Band!!! I'm a 78 years older musician these Guys are the Best. Where were these kind of guys when I was forming a Band??g
Not lying, I had this song for about a week on my head. Really good quality in here and all the album
I've been humming this song since I first heard it XD
I'm on day 5. It won't stop
Obsessed with this song. Its impossible for me to listen to this once. Every time I hear it its immediately on repeat.
Pocket Sand ....I am so sorry!
My best friend passed a week ago! I miss him so bad
one of the most underrated bands. So much talent and creativity! Insanely haunting music mmm...
I love when you think the song is ending, there’s 2 minutes left!
Makes me feel I’ve both loved and lost somebody I’ve never known.
2:26 "I see an emerald in the sky" - man with the cello be like "I don't have a clue what's going on" 🤣 LOVE THIS SONG!!!
this song deserves a lyric comment
My one and only love
I've been lonely long enough
Will I find you when the night is over?
Tell me where did you go?
I've been searching high and low
I have only 'til the night is over
In every window, I pass
Your reflection in the glass
Makes me wonder if my mind is going
Shadows shifting in the rain
Slowly driving me insane
By the stars above, I know we were in love
I have only 'til the night is over
I feel the weather change
I hear the river say your name
I watch the birds fly by
I see an emerald in the sky
Now how the trail has gone cold
I don't know where else to go
And my time, I fear, is nearly over
When the ocean drinks the sky
And the city winks its eye
When the night is done, you'll vanish in the sun
Will I hold you when the night is over?
Am I lost inside my mind?
There's an emerald in the sky
I hear the river say your name
By the stars above, I know we were in love
I hear the river say your name
I have only 'til the night is over
Holy shit this song is gorgeous
Driving to Michigan from KY during Covid lockdown because my mother / my best friend had to have emergency surgery that I wasn't sure she'd survive and my Amazon Tool/A Perfect Circle/Puscifer playlist played this! I've been playing Lord Huron during the drive BACK to Kentucky for MY post-op appointment and back to Michigan to help my mom when she gets out of the hospital! She's doing great! THIS music got me out of my head and away from the monkey mind and into my heart! SO healing and incredibly gorgeous! Thanks Uni-verse!
I cannot help but believe, that the subtle ones are the relevant ones.
A raindrop near the lake against the cool, surreal breeze. That is what their songs are like.
This reminds me of Twin Peaks....it has all the feels...
💕
I was just thinking that!
Definitely Twin Peakish......
Definitely get a Twin Peaks vibe. And I love it.
Lord Huron IS the David Lynch of music
(Unless Lynch does his own music idk)
This song feels nostalgic for no reason, I wish I say "Hi" to her that night.

Bro, holy shit!
Are you a writer, man? Because the scene you set in just a few sentences was vibrant and alive in my mind. You really ought to do something with that vision. Cheers!
Favorite song on the album.
I absolutely can't get enough of this band. They are addictive. Hope they have a concert somewhere in Arkansas because I know I will have to get a ticket to go. Keep them coming Lord Huron you have a new fan!
I can't stop listening to this song. It is so calming to me for some reason.
Something about this beat that captures an emotion that I will one day put to words
When the nigth it's over just turn me back to the nigth we meet
Omg just discovered this in 2020. It’s my new favy

Beautiful lyrics
My ex from my entire 20s just sent this to me. I am/we are NOW 53. I always wonder if songs like these are the way he feels about someone else or me. Thanks for posting lyrics. Easier to understand as I listen!🙌 And I tend to think he's really thinking about someone else. Maybe nobody. But definitely NOT me!!😂
“My one and only love, I’ve been lonely long enough…will I find you when the night is over?..tell me, where did you go”?
Jesus…never related to something more
I've had this song on repeat for almost 2 weeks. Still isn't enough. My neighbors hate me but that's okay 😊
Everytime I hear any of their songs, no matter how long it's been, I have to hear them all back to back.
So much feel..... It actually hurts a little.... Glad i have no previous attachment to this song to bring me back type of nostalgia
I do. I cry to this song.
This is one of those songs you listen to it for the first time and you immediately fall in love with it
exactly what happened to me
LOVE Y'ALL! I took my kids on a road trip and we listened to your albums so much we knew them word for word and everytime we hear them now it reminds us of all those mountains and valleys we passed.
I can't stop listening to this and "the night we met". I've just ordered the album. Not my usual vibe but I'm stuck on these guys right now.
Where has this song been all these years. The band is phenomenal
This song is reminiscent of my first acid trip when I was walking down the street and saw a green light change to red with no cars there. Teared up a little bit, made me think long and hard about life
Understand that man,,,hmmmm
What a masterpiece. If this is playing off in the distance, you are moving towards it
