Jojo Hua performing Chen style Tai chi on Whatipu beach , Auckland , New Zealand. Filmed November 2015 at Whatipu beach on the West coast of Auckland , New Zealand.
Chen style, as taught in a Chinese wushu school, I would say. Hence the high-difficulty and blindingly-quick moves. It does look very different to Chen Xiao Wang's taiji, which I practise. But it's easy to commentate on technique and internal vs external, etc, so I'll just say this: The amount of training & dedication she has put in, and the level of ability she has attained, would far eclipse that of any CZcams commentators I've come across. Of that I am certain.
Her internal power is legit. The beauty of her movement certainly connotes that of wushu, but one does not develop that level of internal strength solely from wushu.
Yes definitely Wushu influence. I am also learning from a disciple of Chen Xiao Wang, but I also dabble in Hong Jun Shen and Feng Zi Chang styles. There are many variations of Chen Style, but I like them all.
For people who practice Chen style tai chi from Chen village or Chen Fake lineages it feels weird to watch these "wushu" performances because it looks like someone just watched somebody doing tai chi and turned it into a dance. But yeah, this performer does have a lot of skill.
Nah, oxygen was being pumped into the bloodstream of this master of wushu. For you and me, lazy slugs watching on CZcams, no health benefits of any kind flowed down to us.. We just got fatter and more out of shape. Watching other people do wonderful things may be enjoyable, but we don't share the actual benefits, lol
very nice. super impressed. power. speed. knowlege of classic form rules. obviously influenced by modern chen masters. beautiful expressive hand movements. very nice
Brilliant demonstration, very inspirational. If in New Zealand I will definitely try to get to a class. An instructional DVD would be a big seller ! You almost feel you are on the beach and want to join in and savour the peace. Thank you John
I am a 78 year young Yang style 24 movement practitioner. I love watching her movements, but one of the kicks alone makes it quite improbable that I could ever be able to do this form properly.
One of the beautiful things about Tai Chi is how it can be modified to suit the practitioner. There is typically a less acrobatic method that is just as effective.
Very nice video, watching the way this practitioner moves you Can see the application of the techniques. Thankyou for sharing this. All the best from Australia Lewis Sydney 🇦🇺
Chen Style Tai Chi Flowing like water Connecting within yourself Using the principal of yin/yang She did a fabulous job on technique Form and posture ☯️
hello, thank you for this nice video..please could you give me the rights to use it in a documentary about taichi .. i need your reply as soon as you can and thanks very much
Can anyone give the names of each of these 24 forms ? I can only find the names of this simplified/hunyuan version and it is quit different then this one (Third Set of Chen with 24 forms/ the Four Big Hammer Set
It is impossible to do this routine in a beach with people (Americans) on the beach: They would get too close, start laughing at you, start asking you "Is that Karate?", and start asking you "Hey, do you think you're 'Bad'?" & start challenging you to a fight, and of course, everyone would get like 2 feet away and start taking pictures of you with their cell phones.
When you first learn the forms, one normally copies the teacher, including timing. However as one learns the essence of especially fajin, when and how you express that fajin in the form becomes a matter of personal choice, both aesthetically and with regard to training emphases. By no means are you required to mimic someone else's training in that regard. You can do virtually all movements quickly coiling and expressing fajin with power, and you would look to most onlookers like you were doing some sort of hard style form. Alternatively you can coil slowly, everywhere, permitting greater mastery of subtlety, and express only when not doing so would hinder the progression into the next movement. Most onlookers then might not even notice that you were doing martial tai chi.
This is so beautiful it moved me to tears.
4 years later, but I feel the same.

You can try the 13 forms instead as there's no kicking there.

Très puissant.

you can call this a short form of CHEN Taiji LaoJiaYiLu !
nice :)
Great performance (and video).
We don't care music, Tai Chi is not a dance.
You are mistaken, Tai Chi is a dance of energies

请问?这是太极拳吗?.有谁能靠诉我吗?
Not that I've started learning the Chen 18 style by Chen Zhenglei, I'm wondering why the timing is different... Can somebody enlighten me, please?
Is there any timing in chen taichi? :) Chen Zhenglei is in a completely different league, do as he does and pace your routine according to your breath
When you first learn the forms, one normally copies the teacher, including timing. However as one learns the essence of especially fajin, when and how you express that fajin in the form becomes a matter of personal choice, both aesthetically and with regard to training emphases. Please, tell us the song's name.

Yes It is
@@ecnivmarng7163 He asked for the song's name. You gave him the name of the musical instrument. So useful, haha. 他没问乐器是哪个。他问的是歌名。真是答非所问。
Why don't you upload the tutorial Tai Chi 24 Chen Style?
