“You couldn’t take care of a wet dream” is the absolute funniest line in any film ever.
Agreed, made my day, any day.
I'm definitely stealing that line. I can't believe I haven't seen this film yet. I'm going to watch it tonight.

I think GySgt Hartman's "I'll bet you're the kind of guy that would fuck a person in ass, and not even have the god-damned common courtesy to give him a reach-around" is better.
They crammed more memorable lines into this 2 minutes and 58 seconds than most entire movies contain.

It’s amazing how Eastwood is already old here, but he has the strength and intimidation of a man in his early 30s…
Most men in their early 30’s in today’s military (especially the Air Force) couldn’t intimidate a fly. They grew up coddled, passive, politically correct, and no more intimidating than a speck on the wall. The over 50’s that served are the real thing.
The absolute best!!
US infantryman here, have yet to meet anyone in their 30s that’s actually impressive, generally speaking they are disposable diehards that failed to listen to anyone who’s actually been at a two way range
He was always a fitness buff
He definitely looks here 10 years older. This is 1986 btw.

Oh, in spanish from Spain they translated that as " ahora mis cojones contra los vuestros" which roughly translate as "now it's my balls against yours", and makes a much more memorable quote
I love how he told them 6AM, then woke them up at 5. "So I lied"
Yeah, when he said it ,I was thinking 0600 seemed a kinda late start on the day.
The guy who Clint grabbed by the nose Tom Villard who plays Profile was a class mate of mine. We attended Spencerport High School. He lived just up the street. He passed away at the age of 40 from AIDS. I remember him being very active in the drama club and did may plays at school. Glad to see he was part of a Classic movie before he passed with probably the most iconic star in Hollywood. RIP Tom.

I personally think this is one of Clint Eastwood’s best roles ever
That one, and Inspector Callahan, from the Dirty Harry Movies. One of the best set of lines from that series, was when Callahan confronted that Black Dude, that was laying on the ground, after he'd been shot by Callahan. He looks up at Callahan, and Callahan tells him that, in all the excitement, he'd forgotten whether he'd fired six times, or only five. Brother looks up at Callahan, and says:"Hey, Man.....I gots to know"! Callahan points his Pistol at him, and pulls the trigger...but there's only a resounding "Click". Brother is like whew!
Might've messed himself in his britches, too.
I would have!
This man has so many memorable scenes we couldn’t possibly keep up with him without a doubt the best actor/director of the last several decades ❤
This is how my grandpa walked into our home when he was babysitting us.
0:44 - "Recon Platoon kicks butt!!" Sgt Highway grabs his nose -- "owww" LOL!

I love how the story is set in 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion in Camp Lejuene, NC but I know they shot the scenes there in Camp Pendleton, CA in 64 area Talga, I seen those hooches buildings, I never worked around in that area, I was in old mainside near Fallbrook area, but I used to drive around the whole base for the scenery, I had a friend of mine who went reserves and slept in those hooches when he came for drill, if those buildings are still there I wouldn’t be surprised, Camp Pendleton the base itself was one of the best to be stationed at and I wouldn’t trade those moments for anything, Semper Fidelis Marines! 🦅 🌎 ⚓️

This was my grandfather, except my grandfather was the real version of this. Served in WWII Korean and Vietnam, and was a Drill Sargent towards the end of Vietnam.. survived three world wars, one of only a couple hundred men to do so. Funny to glimpse into the world my dad grew up with🤔
3 World Wars? Bruh
You only named one world war dude. And FYI there have only been two world wars... Ever.
Three world wars?!!!
BS!!!!!
You should have stopped at Vietnam...
My grandfather was a Marine and he fought in the same war and he was in the Vietnam war and he was 2 ranks over than Highway and he was an. E-9 Master Gunnery Sergeant and so I’m a grandson of a Marine and he gave me his ranks before he died
My grandfather was a Marine as well and he was in the Vietnam 🇻🇳 war his MOS was 0311 served more than 20 years got out as an E-9 (Master Gunnery Sergeant) and so I got his Purple Heart and he’s been shot three times one in his shoulder one in his leg and the last one hit his radio 📻 and the radio saved his life so I’m a grandson to a Marine and my grandfather is a higher rank than Highway and so I got his ranks that is an E-9 (Master Gunnery Sergeant) and I don’t wear the ranks I just hold them and I carry them to remember my grandfather 👴 because he was a Marine himself so he served more than 20 years in the Marines and he never talked to me about the war because I didn’t want him to be scared to talk about it so I never asked him at all so I never asked about it

Seems like it was a lot easier to sound threatening back then. The internet really cheapened the art of trash-talk
My friend Jeremy who I use to work Construction with was an Army Ranger, we saw this movie when we were playing poker at his house, he told me he had a First Sergeant that was just like Clint Eastwood's character Sgt Highway.
it still makes me cringe when he rips that ear ring out of jones' ear lol

I remember watching this movie in the theaters as a teen. Loved Eastwood's performance therein. They sure don't make movies like this anymore.
I served in the Marines for 20 years. I was on active duty when this movie came out. Eastwood's portrayal of a grizzled recon Marine is very accurate in most ways. Though, there are a few things not accurate to point out. First, there's nobody in the Corps or elsewhere who'd treat a Medal of Honor recipient with disrespect. Any Commanding Officer who talked to Gy Highway like that would have been run out of the Corps. That would never happen. Look at Pappy Boyington. He was a lush and discipline problem off-duty and a tiger in the air. He still received that respect that he earned in combat. Second, I've seen some unsat, screwed-up individual Marines during my time in the Corps but I've never seen any squad, much less one in Force Recon, be as screwed-up as the Hollywood squad were before they met Gy. Highway. Lastly, Quonset Huts? There might have been a few of them left in 1985 but those buildings are relics from the Vietnam and WWII eras. Regardless, this is a very entertaining movie.
Hehehe, "for all you people who don't habla". LOVE this movie.
It was when the earring came off for me!!😂😂
I love the earrape from things falling in these old movies. The fact it was so loud when he kicked over the garbage can is so funny to me and I don't know why.
I hit Army Basic in 1982... Back in the days when misbehavior, misunderstanding, or being born stupid would get your bell rung by clipboard-wielding Drill who was concerned about your ability to learn.
I have no idea if it's better now or not. It's obviously been a long time since I graduated from BDU. However, I will say that such treatment got MY attention. 🤣 And I will stipulate that I did indeed deserve at least 2/3s of the slaps upside my dome.
Clint is the original tough wiry guy, he is so realistic unlike other known actors...
“You couldn’t take care of a wet dream” 😂 Golden. 👌🏻
I loved the look on gunny's face when he said,"...your ass is mine." ROFLOL!

One of the most quotable movies ever! Never gets old
Clint, what a legend.
Just realized this movie exists and looking forward to watching it soon.
What we see here is the opposite of Gunnery Sergeant Hartman but they both get the same result.
-Hartman
A man who rarely lays a hand on the marines-in-training. (not including Joker and Pyle)
Uses the sheer power of his voice and words to shape people to suit the marine core
Shorter than the average soldier in the movie but sure as hell makes up for it at every turn.
-Highway
A man who constantly throws or destroy something and get physical one way or another.
Speaks only a few quiet words to get respect as no more is needed to suit the marine core.
Taller than the average soldier in the clip and reaps full benefits from it.
"I don't want to get my ass shot off in some far away land "
Lord Eastwood.

You couldn't take care of a wet dream,...God loves you, I know that!🤣🤣🤣
The best parts were when he threw the radio across the room smashed the cue stick and tore of Stitch Jones’ earring
Okay, couple things here. One, love this movie! Two, as an ex military man, I've served with many soldiers and marines. One thing that's always bothered me about this movie is the lack of respect that these men showed for an NCO. Every marine I've ever known was the tip top level of gung-ho in the world and their respect for authority was also tip-top. Lipping off to a Gunnery Sargeant like these guys..impossible. Now, I know this is just a movie, but I'd be very interested to hear from other marines about the attitude of these, so called, marines and also the scene later between Highway and Suede.
Thing you have to remember is the time frame this movie happens in. I don't know your era of service. But my gramps was an E-8 during this time frane and dad was a young pup in the army at the time. There was a definite morale and image problem in the armed forces at the time. This is set less then 10 years after the fall of saigon, and not even 5 years after the fiasco that was operation eagle claw and the tehran embassy fiasco. The military was still teying to rebuild itself and shake off the ghosts of Vietnam. It really wasn't until well into the reagan years that the military went through a HUGE facelift. It didn't truly return to form until after desert storm and the show of force against saddam. Just my .02 as a civilian raised in a military household of the time. Its a situation we are facing once again with the bumbling of the GWOT and the emberassing run from kabul.
@@Banthisyoutube-zs6sx Mostly agree with your post, but the Corps was well on its way back in 1982. The URINALYSIS and kicking out those who popped positive, starting in 1981. It made a huge difference. Also a big pay raise from Carter after giving us Crap duting his high inflation presidency. Reagan added more and we got more quality people.
"It's my will against yours and you will lose." LOL

Marines were always known for it. They got slack for awhile. Cry babies telling mommies the food was bad & they got yelled at. Momy called her senator, my baby is unhappy.
Believe it's toughened up again.
Boys soft & weak die in war, men toughened usually live.
Yes our family Marine, my brother Marine Recon. And I'm dam proud of him. He saw hell face to face. I've seen the tears in the eyes of these strong brave men. It humbles you. Your hear breaks knowing the horrors they've endured.

Yes, tough is necessary. Because toughest & survival skills can save your butt in war. To survive you must become savage. War isn't a game. It kill, or be killed. It's not humane.
And yes I want my warriors coming home. Changed, but alive.

The original plan was to make Clint's character a high-ranking officer, but a no B.S. veteran NCO works way better.
