Mate I left my job at the lumber mill after 9 years because I love and wanted to be behind a axe and chainsaw. Been selling firewood for a year since I left my job. Love bukin wood, I'm running a ms660 and 034 atm but them old saws you run are amazing, must say. Love your work mate
Outstanding workmanship, Buckin’. That was a joy to watch. Sending some peace and kindness across the country in your direction. Hoping it’s contagious as it makes its way to you. Stay well. ✊🏻🪓
I've done the same mistake on one of my axes, did pretty much what you did.. glued a piece of a busted handle and drove the wedge home.. that's 4 years ago, and it's still going strong. Good glue and the right fit works Magic..like a glove. Haha!! All the best to the Army, take care of one another and keep on being kind :)
Freakn beautiful axe Buckin! Love ur spirit, such good energy that inspires me to do Something good today! I don't care what it is, who it's for.....Let's do it friends! aaAAARROOOooooo!! Love u Buckin and The Army!
I have done, what we call a poor man's handle. And use cross wedges and they will hold a very long time. When you have broken handle and you need the axe or hammer. You can make it work. Great job Billy. I have a hard epoxy I use to set my wedges.
Wow Brother that was amazing! I was having problems with one of my wedges and now I can get her set in better! Love your shows Buckin!! Been watchin you channel for a while now. Your positive energy and love has made a huge difference in my life and I wanted to say thank you! Keep up the great work Brother you make such a huge difference in peoples lives! Thank for you positive energy!! Cheers
They say the Corona dont like the heat...........Buckin...it's time to bring back wood stoves! Crank them up all through the summer ! Let's burn Corona down. Thank you for the Videos Buckin.
One of my long time friends is a firefighter. He said they have all kinds of new fangeled tools to gain entry, but more times than not the fire axe is what they grab. The design has stood the test of time. Hey Army! Hope everyone is okay and hanging in there! Welcome to the new subs, and again thanks to the moderators for their efforts in keeping the garbage off the channel!
Hey bucking I am so happy you made the cross wedge video I did the same thing as you and was ready to throw the handle away now I don't have to thank you so much
Buckin ,you couldn’t have picked ( pun intended ) a better axe 🪓 for the cross wedge technique. Looks like a rubics cube. Thank you for another great video. God bless you all. Peace out ✌️
Dr. Buckingstin at your service. Ive had so much crap to deal with its been hard 2 watch. Between storm damage the burned house an all the wood. The wood is a blessing but health wise im not suppose to do it. Idk l might be away for a while. I ll try to so keep up the Dr. Frankenstein work.
Thanks, Joel Atkinson for a Wonderful Gift To This Channel ! Wicked Build, Buckin' Welcome New Sub's & Hay Blues ! Every 1 Have A Swell Weekend. Prayers & Hugs For Bo Bo & Family ! ATB T God Bless
I did a cross wedge on a 6# sledge. Mine was planned and I did a double kerf through the middle. My wedges were a bit aggressive and would pop out while hammering. Eventually I got all of them to stick, put two metal wedges in and it's holding up well so far.
Believe in your self buckin. Drive that wedge home. Move on and celebrate. I had my young nephew give me a haircut today. In mid procedure he asked, how fast does your hair grow. I said go with your gut. Keep cutting. Every thing is fine, you have to trust and believe. Barber shops here are closed for another month. He then tells me I'm going gray. I said I earned it boy, keep going. What a wonderful laugh we had. I may look like a seal with ears but I'm happy.
Thanks for the videos and all the the positive messages. Love the enthusiasm you have for everything you do. Have a date tomorrow with my best friend , some climbing gear,a few ported saws and a nasty old pine tree. Keep the videos coming. Love the channel.
Hi Buckin Can I ask you a question on an axe please? Am looking at a HB axe american felling axe would this be good for firewood and banging wedges.. Love the content friend Thanks
I have a carpenter's hatchet head that I wanted to put a longer handle on, so I used a old axe handle and cut off to the desired length. The end result gave the it a curved handle (why I did it in the first place) but no shoulder which made it look more like a tomahawk on the head end. The eye however had the same situation as on this video except a little less than 1/4 gap. The solution was tapering a piece of 1/4 round metal stock and sending it 5 inches down along the handle which kept the head not only in place but provides protection under the beard of the axe from missed blows. I paracord wrapped that section so to cover up the work, provide further protection, and have a handle there too.
Pulaski's are to wildland fire fighting as pike axes are to structure fires. And they have such a cool history. Wonder if Buckins got one lying around?
Dude I can’t believe you just did a cross wedge video! I’m gonna try my first one today!! Totally stoked to try it now! You put up videos that literally help me be a better me! Thank you so much 🙏. The cross wedge is a simple example. Be kind , love from Idaho.

Does anyone have a link to the torch tip for burning the handles? Flame appears wider than the standard torch tip, more of a rose bud tip
