Table in SEMI with Murphy BED combo | Living in a SEMI

- The 2023 volvo VNL 860 comes with a bed dinette combo. Which is really nice except the rock hard cushions in comes with! We wanted to be able to use the table and our custom Crossroads Sleep System.
So we build a murphy bed along the back wall so we could leave the bed made and use the table. This makes for a fast easy set up which is important since time is limited.
This makes living in the semi more like home. We cook our meals, use real dishes, eat at a table and do the dishes and never have to leave the from the comfort of our truck.
This was an easy build and did no damage to the truck

Love the spring system
It does wonders!!! It really helps with our shoulders, hips and back from the rough ride . There will always been potholes, bridge seems and work zones....

Only Renault trucks(Europe) have actually thought about changing cab lay out design.
OK,you're a tag team,but for the single driver,put the bed against the N/S wall(personally, I'd remove my passenger seat),with your feet soles facing the windshield, that then gives you space for a fridge/sink/worktop/gas ring(don't tell Joe),like the ones you get in a RV,and you can also have a slide out chemical toilet/porta potty under the bed.
I wish you could buy trucks just with insulation and a driver's seat,and get either RV/boat fitters to trim them out to your own spec!
i've been kind of browsing around for a better matress because i don't get good quality sleep on the oem mattress in my company owned freightliner cascadia

It looks like you did a fine job but for me you left something out. You did not explain what you did with the floor. Most Freightliners have a little wall below the bed. For me that is where my inverter is hooked up. What did you do with the wall down there? Did you just cut it away?
The vovlo and the international trucks are cut out like that from the factory.

Right, i was wondering how in the world they expect drivers to keep on fixing the sheets every time you want to use the table to eat ,,,who ever was the engineer for the new volvos are trash
