Probably the most underrated A7x song. Matt's vocals are quite unique and not easy to emulate, but it was great to hear your vocal style with this song! Your falsettos were deeply satisfying. Great job with the production! Also, a tip for backing vocals. Idk if you stacked multiple layers of each, didn't sound like it, but it helps achieve that "choir" effect. Also, if you want them to seem more distant, I've been told it works wonders to physically distance yourself from the mic. That way the presence is diminished to let the leads shine.
Hey thanks a ton I appreciate it! You are correct about the choir effect, I did stack multiple layers here but only 4 with 2 panned hard left and hard right. In some later videos I stacked multiple layers with 16 voices to really give it that effect and it definitely sounds a lot better to me, a good example of that is at the end of my cover of Marigold by Periphery. Also for the physical distancing I find if you put a limiter on the vocals and mess with the reverb you can achieve that same effect. I really appreciate the attention to detail and tips! Your technique is amazing brother. How many years have you been taking singing courses? Full diaphragm support, not much neck pressure. Insane technique!
Thanks a ton! I actually grew up learning from a very young age, my dad is a rock singer and my mom is a classical musician so I got a great mix of both influences growing up while working on it. I never took any official courses on singing and just have done my own research and a lot of practice and introspection, pulling from all my favorite influences and combining that to form my voice. Several CZcams channels have been quite useful over the years as well. I have been singing for about 17 years while being quite serious for the past 7.

Thank you! For most songs you can just look the instrumental up on CZcams, then you can use a youtube to mp3 converter, download the file and put it in your DAW, that’s how I do it at least
