It was a performance in front of a live audience, and THAT was the original audio. No "Pre-recorded screams.
Ed Sullivan did not want Elvis to do a Gospel song but Elvis insisted as it was his mom's favorite song.
Thank you. I am 88 years and watch & listen to Elvis every day.
I'm 71 and listen every day.
YES! That scream came from the live audience!
God was showing off when he made Elvis.
Live audience, not pre recorded at all. Real deal admiration for The King!
Isn't he magic? still bringing people together with his beautiful voice. Am so enjoying the young peoples reactions to Elvis.
His voice was even better in the 60´s and 70´s. Elvis had the best "tone" of any singer.
They did not have pre-recorded anything back then it was live and real. Thank you for reacting to Elvis us fans appreciated it
ELVIS was simply the Goat 1
Please listen to the whole song, it's beautiful and much longer! This is just part of the song! LONG LIVE THE KING #1
You are right Maggie Elvis has a very distinctive voice. The fact is he came along at a moment in American music history where his singing will be heard by humans far into the future as he was in life. ✌
Elvis was so epic, and a true natural talent.
Elvis was so good! I'll never forget when I heard that he was gone. The world lost one of the greatest talents of all time. I was with a bunch of friends and almost everyone had a tear in their eye. ✌🇨🇦😥
Elvis was indeed the King back then. A hugely talented singer An amazing voice. I loved watching you loving Elvis! ✌
I saw him in 57 I was 11 years old I saw him at 72 and 77 his voice never failed him and his voice only got better
Singing Gospel Songs in black churches is where he really started singing ❤❤ the only Grammy he ever won was his gospel album.
Thank you for this reaction. I find Elvis to be such an instinctual singer. He was never formally trained but he worked very hard to improve himself over the course of his career (and sadly, his much-too-short life). His voice was even better after his stint in the army. He met Charlie Hodge (who would later sing harmony in Elvis's TCB band) and together they played records of Italian and Italian-American singers like Mario Lanza and Elvis's voice matured and became even richer than what is was in this Ed Sullivan performance. Elvis makes me appreciate gospel music so much more than I even anticipated. It was his cornerstone.
Elvis 1956 was what Beatles got in 1964. Elvis was the KING and the revolution...Beatles and Dylan was the EVOLUTION. Long Live The King!
The KING!
Just LOOK at that man....!! The most-gorgeous creature to ever walk the Earth. THE END
"Peace in the Valley" has always been my all-time favorite gospel song, and Elvis' rendition is so amazing. With "I'm so tired and so weary, but I must move along...." means so much to me. As an adult and have been working for EMS and fire since I was 17, I've been hospitalized three times for exhaustion, which could have been more.
The King!!!
There was never a prerecorded scream during Elvis interactions, they were all real. It was probably cut from the song as much as possible so, that the listener could hear it better!
Elvis is Everywhere
Would love to see you review his cover of How Great Thou Art live. It's the best I have ever heard. Saw him do it many times in concert.
Name another artist who sang rock n roll, blues, country and gospel at such a high level
I think you would really like one of elvis’ 1970 performances or his 1972 performances, specifically “I can’t stop loving you” from the 1972 performance!!
Listen to the record. It's much longer!👑👌
Beautiful performance
Another reaction from Elvis Presley’s hound dog and the Milton Berle show this is the performance they got him band
I Love Elvis Presley....my Mom Loved him and I grew up listening to his Music....Country, Rock, Gospel, and we watched his Movies too! Sad how he died so young. 😭 And he couldn't just go out around people by himself, I felt that while he had Tons of Money.....he was kind of a prisoner in his home. 😏 The price of Fame. 🤷
Ed Sullivan ran a live show. The audience was mostly women and teenage girls. The screaming is real but they did have a applause sign.
THE KING.
Elvis is amazingly talented. I hope we get to see some of his other songs on YT as well Great job Maggie!
Thank you!! 🌺🥳
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC REACTION!! MORE ELVIS PLEASE...RABBIT HOLE IS MAGICAL...YOU WONT REGRET IT!! 🙏🙏🤗🤗🤗❤️🫂👌🔥🔥
Thank you!! 🤗❤️🫂👌🔥
I loved Elvis' gospel album from his early days, he grew singing gospel.
Very nice!! You need to hear him do Crying in the Chapel. It's longer and it's magnificent gives me goosebumps every time.
Elvis grew up singing gospel. I believe his 3 Grammy's were all for gospel songs. I think he said in an interview that he would only sing gospel, but rock paid more.
Not pre-recorded!! Spontaneous!
Live TV!!!
This is fantastic but I can't wait to hear your react one of his operatic songs like what now my love
I saw Elvis and i subbed. thank you
So glad!! Welcome! Thanks for your lovely comment! 🤗💖
The reason that those background singers didn't stick with him (Elvis did offer) is because they worked with tons of musicians in Nashville and so chose not to leave Nashville.
My fav from Elvis is the official recording (not the philharmonic version, which destroys it) of It’s Now or Never, released in 1960. The lyrics are set to the melody of O Sole Mio.
The quartet behind him is the Jordanaires, a Southern Gospel quartet who were a regular part of his concerts. He also travelled with the famous Stamps Quartet for a while as well, but he always had a gospel quartet with him.
Love Elvis and Maggie. Love and Respect Ontario.
Suspicious Minds, In the Ghetto, Kentucky Rain, Blue Suede Shoes, Return to Sender, are several of my favorites.
And his Gospel songs....How Great Thou Art, #1 favorite. Also, One Pair Of Hands, and There Will Be Peace In The Valley. Plus Many more! 😊👍
la bombe du siècle😓💥💥💥💯💖👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏
The scream was live from the audience, the scream ended at the second the video of the performance ended.
Listen to him sing If I Can Dream. One of his best
Listening January 2024
Just effortless and beautiful vocalization from EP 💯❤⚡
Elvis only won three Grammy Awards in his career, and they were all for singing gospel.
I was in the Army on guard duty when it came through that Elvis had passed away. Had most of his albums. Was so sad even for an English man
His bass singer was J. D. Summer, the Geoff Castelluci of his day
He actually hit the Guinness Book of Records as the lowest bass as the lowest bass of the time.
Hey Maggie
Excellent reaction
Can you please react to Elvis How Great Thou art
1977
He might not look that good but his voice is so strong
It was his last concert
The way Elvis pours his heart and soul into the song
It was like he was singing to God
Thank you for reacting to Elvis
With Elvis you can't go wrong
God bless you
Elvis had such a great voice, but if you want to really get a good idea of his voal range and how he possibly could have been a great opera singer, listen to his version of the song "Surrender" which is based on the song "Come Back To Sorrento"
Surrender" is a #1 song recorded by Elvis Presley and published by Elvis Presley Music in 1961. It is an adaptation by Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman of the music of a 1902 Neapolitan ballad by Giambattista and Ernesto de Curtis entitled "Torna a Surriento" ("Come Back to Sorrento"). It hit number one in the US and UK in 1961 and eventually became one of his best-selling singles. Presley held the record for most consecutive number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 before 1966 when The Beatles beat the record with six consecutive number ones released between 1965-1966. That record eventually was broken in 1988 by Whitney Houston, who continues to hold the record with seven. It would hold the record for most consecutive number ones by a solo artist until Houston broke that record with "So Emotional". This was one of 25 songs Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman wrote for Presley.
Love your amazing reaction. Try American Triology. More please 💕💕💕💕
Thank you!! 💕💕
Elvis and The Jordanaires, just a magical and timelss combination... great choice.
In 2007, Michael Parkinson interviewed Kiri Te Kanawa on his BBC television show. He asked her what she thought was the greatest voice she’d ever heard, probably expecting her to name Pavarotti or Callas.
Instead, she replied, “The young Elvis Presley, without any doubt.”
dame kiri te kanawa on the greatest voice she ever heard
February 3, 2020 by Neal Umphred
More Elvis please !
You really should listen to:
Take me home precious lord, that is a very nice song
The only thing wrong with this performance version is it is not complete u need to listen to the studio recorded take, its pristine
Maggie Renee
Of all his career, only Grammys that Elvis has won were in Gospel. He won 3 Grammys
Elvis----God Almighty....
i just subscribed 2 gospel songs 1972 live (HOW GREAT THOU ART) also audio only but outstanding is (YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE)
Hello Ms. Renee. I hope you have a wonderful New Years.
✌🏼Another great reaction.
Hello B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L Woman!!! 🥰😘😎🤘
Ed Sullivan told him he couldn’t do it and Elvis replied I promised my mama and so ai’m doing it.
This may be the first time (that I recall anyway) that the intro/outro is longer than the reaction. As always...a great reaction and great song.
Hello Maggie 🇺🇸 Happy New Year❤️🙂🌲🎄
Elvis won only three Grammys and they were all for Gospel music.
For all the "King" publicity, if I remember right his three best selling albums were all gospel music like this.
try Elvis's His Latest Flame or Little Sister.
Sadly Today 1/12/2023; Lisa Marie Which is Elvis Daughter Died. She was 54 Years Old.
I actually meet one of the singers behind Elvis; though it beats the shit out of me as to which one. I know, I know, you’re saying - Stop, you’re making us jealous.
Elvis, and the Jordanaires! I grew up listening to him, and his voice got better as he sged. Couldnt stand his movies though. Lol!
You really need to listen to some of the 68 come back special, it's really good I think you'll really like it. Songs like "Love me" "One night with you " "Trying to get to you" and "if I can dream" just to name a few
nope. TV was live at that time with a live audience. Nothing prerecorded
I just noticed it but he sings so smooth then changes it up like a musical instrument or something real singing back then now most singers use autotune
If you watch the Beatles on Ed Sullivan you will see the screams are real.
React to Hurt, Its Now or Ever to hear his vocal range
Love your reaction- new subscriber- I did peace in the valley on my channel 😀
Opera star Kiri Te Kanawa told Michael Parkinson that the young Elvis had the greatest voice she had ever heard.
Check out...Top 10 The best of Sir Tom Jones The Voice UK. I think #7 he sings a song with a contestan The song was written by the young man's father for Tom Jones. Tom Jones was 80 when he was singing sounds and that man can STILL sing. Would love,to hear you react to it. It's a 21-22 minute video
Isn't weird... that the king of music.. barelly worte any songs.. 90% of his songs were covers from another singers, or someone else's songs !! But he was a great performer !!
Hey I wanted to know if you could react to my church victory fellowship please and thank you
It wasn't a pre recorded scream. When Elvis was bout to sing you shut the hell up. They would point
That's not prerecorded dear that's live it's Elvis I grew up with him!!!!u probably wish that would scream for like that 😅
Pre recorded scream??? Hahahahahaha. C’mon!
I think I understand why the women are screaming. It’s obviously the harmonies right
If he only had the looks to go with the voice, he might have made it in the music business🤷♂️
Lol u a troll or something ?
@@blueorigin1550 do you not understand sarcasm???...sheesh
@@garygoodman4342 lol the way u texted ur comment clearly didn’t look like sarcasm, Ik u meant that don’t be silly or the way u said it seems like u know nothing about Elvis ?
@BlueOrigin: Congrats & kudos all around. You have officially raised the naivete/cluelessness bar to a level that may very well never be surpassed. HNY !!
@@blueorigin1550 I've listened to and studied Elvis my entire life. I listen to Elvis Radio on Sirius daily, so I know about Elvis. Things like fans sent Elvis Teddy Bears his entire career. He would have them donated to the Children's Hospital. Any person who truly thinks that Elvis didn't "make it" in the music business is ad clueless as you.
you so kindness kind favorite kindness kind sooo amazing sooo nicest nice sooo coolest greatest nicest sooo favorite favorite nicest sooo favorite favorite kind nicest kindness nice nicest favorite favorite sooo friendly friendly friendly friendly friendly friendly friendly friendly everytime a nice friend
Yeah, 50s and 60s used laugh track, scream tracks, etc. Whatever response needed to be promoted as though from an audience was always pre-recorded, or they were also scripted via lighted signs telling the audience what response to give.
Not true, the only time the applause sign was used was during the 68 comeback special and, that was his managers doing, Tom Parker!
This was the Ed Sullivan show. There was no pre-recorded anything. You're thinking of sit-coms when they started taping them before broadcast.
It is beautiful but I like the version by John Anderson better.
Ed Sullivan was NEVER prerecorded.
WHY ?? Do you keep bypassing ... Lucy Thomas..singing. Hallelujah The Charismatic Voice loves her !! Young woman, you will be amazed!
