Great run-through of the process. Thanks!
I've started melting and stuff about a month ago. I've made a bunch of ingots so far, bronze, copper, brass, and it's so fun. I totally suggest others to get into it. It's a fun hobby.
I was also wondering what to purchase for melting and pouring. It’s cool to learn from someone so close too. I’m in the Beaverton area and have been learning a lot from your videos. 👍🏻

Thanks for the video, love the behind the curtain look at your process. It would be fun to see a "work day vid" or a "start to finish vid" from melting to pouring to cleaning to stamping, that would be a lot of fun.
Very informative! Full of advice for a newbie like me!

Grog The Devourer you are welcome Grog! if you need a more in depth list hit me up 👍🏽🔥🐉
Will do!
Man thats a lot of stuff to get started man!!! Crazy. Btw watch out for those cheap tips they scratch the silver when you shine it. Hiho had a problem with them a while back in one of his videos just a heads up👍
David Salama yeah I have heard that... as long as you know what you are doing most of the scratching can be mitigated... go slow and use lots of polish 👍🏽🔥🐉
Super interesting stuff 💰🐉
Nick Pace thanks it is a super fun hobby! 🔥🐉
Love those Harbor Freight Pittsburgh punches
nice video with good information.
Jorge Luna thanks my friend that’s what I was going for!!! 🔥🐉👍🏽
This is super cool, I would love to learn how to learn how to do this, Since I collect silver.
Do you have to replace the stainless steel shot after each tumbler?
Have you a used the red furnace to melt any copper? I heard that the heating element burns out fast at that temp. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
lol, almost my shopping list for this week in one video. thanks
Bellas dad aka Phil 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 seriously are you gonna take the dip?!? 😮🔥🐉
@@SilverDragons47 yes sir, ordering the stuff at end of week for her bday on the 18th
Bellas dad aka Phil dude that is awesome I look forward to seeing what you come up with!!! 🔥🐉
That first furnace do you need that on a heat riddance surface as I have no space to do it, I k ow sounds silly but wanted to do it in the kitchen.
Thanks
Thank you for the guided tour! Now I'm waiting for the live version from start to finish. Could you please take us along?
Jo Do stop by tomorrow night for some live pouring fun! 🔥🐉
yes i'd watch that anytime
Money Maniacs it will be around 7 or 8 pm PT... can’t wait!!!
What brand is the electric furnace That’s red?
Hey I am looking at makeing a hockey puck of silver. Would u suggest using a mold and then a Bridgeport to mill the excess before I clean it.
I really enjoy your videos. I was wondering what size in mm is your custom dragon stamp logo. I am about to purchase a stamp of my own and was unsure what size would look good on a 1 to 5 oz round or bar.
Can you melt silver in the graphite mold itself with a torch? I have a bunch of silver shot and I’m just looking to make little 1-2 oz bars but I don’t wanna buy a furnace just for that. Could I get a couple graphite molds I like and a torch and just melt the shot in the mold?
Do you have to wear respirator or n95 mask when melting silver and gold?
Just started but had issue. Anyone replaced heating coil in electrical furnace?
If I could I would give you TWO thumbs up..Thanks.
rockinrod1 you are so very welcome my friend!!! 🔥🐉
Thanks man
Hopeful Stacker you got it! 🔥🐉
Where do I get those cool looking molds with designs
What's the powder called that you put between the clay molds. Parting clay powder?
for a rare ocassion smelting of precious metals of 100 grams, do you recommend the furnance or the crucible ? you didnt mention borax, dont you use it ?
I’m thinking of oversizing the mold so I can get exact dimensions
Do you think a gas furnace is cheaper to run dollar wise, than electric or vice versa?
I’m 14 and trying to start pouring
Can you put multiple ingots in the tumbler at the same time? I want a better way to polish than hours of scrubbing. I worry that multiple ingots in the tumbler with dent each other up. Thoughts?
Any advices for using a Milled Steel Ingot Mold from Etsy, instead of a Graphite Mold?
I’m sure this was asked but I haven’t seen it yet, but do you coat your crucible with borax?
PMC Supplies also sells all of these supplies and then some
How do you get that glassy look from the borax off?
I'm getting into pouring. I plan on doing brass copper silver.
Is there a company or type of graphite mold you recommend
Do I need to add borax when melting pure silver in an electric furnace?
Great video. I have been thinking about this for awhile. Just learned alot. Thanks. Trump pence 2020
Timothy Loyd you are very welcome my friend it is a very fun hobby but it gets expensive after a while 😜🔥🐉
Can you do a more in-depth video on the casting?
I’m just not sure what that is.
The thing you were talking about with the clay
Where do you buy the type of silver to pour your own....
can you use 90% coins to melt and pour? thanks for the tool list
Can you smelt metal indoors? Particularly silver. If yes what are some safety tips you could give? I figured it would be safe with an electric furnace in an unfinished basement with plenty of space around it
@silverdragons Those molds would give a "perfect" round with the design as the design is built in.
How would you make a round that looks like an old pirate coin where the edges or "ugly" would you mold into a regular round then hammer the design with a die? use some kind a press?
Is there an electric furnace that can melt a 1 KG bar of copper?
Good video. I think you forgot to add the fire stinguisher and batman's red phone.
How do I buy a silver bar from Silver Dragon ????
I got the S.Y oven and after 2 weeks the 1 kg crucible won't fit. Its to small now. Does anyone else have this issue?
Bagginsilver you are. One day when I grows all ups I going to melt too. One day when I'm older. Your living the dream my friend. I have a 100 ozt shot I'm dying to melt.
silver watcher lol i’m still a kid as well... send me that shot and i’ll pour you a 2 kilo bar!!! double furnace pour!!!! 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮🔥🐉
silver watcher seriously if you want to shoot me an email 😜🔥🐉
What silver do you melt down? Silver rounds?
Can you melt and pour sterling silver?
Electric furnaces seem like a easier way to melt, but I've seen negative reviews about coils burning out within Short time of using it. Are there any reliable well made furnaces that don't burn out so quick
how do you verify your purity?
Always wanted to make my own rounds
Your way or mine. The best is that we get to do this and have a great time making it happen bud. Woohoo eh.
Hey Silver Dragons man this videos was so helpful. I just have one question, where can I buy real gold or silver? I want to start moulding
I have 10 ozT of .9999 shot ordered, it will be first attempted at Map gas pour in a few weeks. I am excited to give it a go. What time are you pouring Monday night?
Sterling Cannabis very cool! just remember to get borax to glaze your whip first before putting the silver in... i’m probably gonna pour at either 7 or 8 pm tomorrow depends on when the kids go to bed. i’ll set up the stream before hand 👍🏽🔥🐉
I would get a respirator too.
So why don’t you use a devil forge?
Don’t forget steel toed shoes if something lands on the floor.
Notification squad.
FinnishArmy nice you were on top of that! 👍🏽🔥🐉
Can u mess up silver by heating it to much? My silver wouldn’t come to a liquid form after it cooled it turns gray black, idk what to do. I was using map gas torch 🙁 please help 3 ounces + . I haven’t tried using more then one torch yet, I kind of feel like I messed up my silver!
You’re awesome Edward thank you 🙏
I am confuseds about the furnances---can you really use a 1kg in a 3kg furnance successfully??? I heard you could not. My thought is that the 3kg furnances are better built--my pours are under 400 grams
