    Pete and Bas are the classic London 'geezr' at az certain age, they are all ex gangsters.. The myth in their lyrics is also a parody of plastic gangster grime boys. Thing is, when a yoot brags, sounds fake, when a 65 year old cockney geezer says it, could be real

    They're legit legends. They get respect from people in the industry, doing features like this one, doing a Plugged In with Fumez and being on the Season 3 finale with a lot of skilled youngins. They tour live. And even still some people say they have "ghostwriters". In order to spit it with this much skill and conviction and for their references and word play to span across decades of history makes me think that's legit.

Used to see them about that manor years ago . on Rye lane . I think the Monty might have been one of their locals . I remember seeing them in a boozer called the artichoke to . They're certainly not the gangsters some people are going on about . more than likely in to a bit of this and a bit of that and knew a few faces but they were just normal south London geezers . It's very very unlikely they knew the twins , opposite end of London and firms tended to stick to their own manors back in those times . anyways . amazing the random scraps of useless information your brain hangs onto hu.

      They're from Peckham, like most old school Peckham boys, their haunting ground is Bermondsey as they support Millwall, which is where most of their videos are shot. This one for instance is shot on the Silwood estate in South Bermondsey right next to Millwall fc ground. Its so close you can hear everything from the stadium on match days.

      @@chriswashingtonbeats whenever i meet an old cockney geezer like these two I wonder if they were involved in gangs or had gang connections back in the day, as gangs were huge and basically ruled whole parts of london. I'm not sure about Pete, but Bas' dad owned a bare knuckle boxing ring he used to fight in and Bas worked as a bouncer back in the 70s, thats what we have confirmed, and theres a lot of other rumours so basically he was definitely involved in some dodgy shit back then there's no way he wasn't somehow connected to the mob

    • @chrisoakleyfx
      @chrisoakleyfx Před 2 lety +2

      Tbh I feel like the fact they are as cold as they are, and not only that but the scene has embraced them, not just ironically as a bit of a joke, but as proper GOATs in the scene... The fact that they're as successful as they are in a scene that revolves around artists living that life, I feel like they must have done a little bit of naughty stuff back in the day and know how to talk the talk, walk the walk etc. If they weren't legit they'd have been laughed off the scene once the novelty wore off. I mean it could be just masterful trolling and the rest of the drill scene is either clueless or in on the joke, but I dunno, these two are the real deal. I have no problem believing these two have dabbled in some shit in their younger years and are now just playing it up for the image. But if it was total bullshit then these yutes wouldn't be having it. But also, who even cares? The image and the bars is good enough for me, they're sick af and that's all that matters. Look at someone like CASISDEAD (sorry but I call bs on the whole him being their ghost writer theory), Cas could be completely full of shit about living that life and just talking about trappin for clout... I don't think he is, he's way too consistent and goes into so much detail at times, I reckon he's a low key dealer which funds his musical projects, he ain't fucking Pablo Escobar but I reckon he does his share of dirt... but even if he is total bullshit, who cares? I love his style, his flow, his bars, the imagery, the mask, the mystery, all of it. And the scene knows who he is, and nobody has ever called him out for talking bollocks, so I reckon he's legit. And that's kind of how I see P&B 🔥
      (Sorry for bumping a year old comment 😂)

    Pouring a pint on a Friday night

    I can't dodge no bullets, I wrap my chest in a Kevlar vest (yeah)
    Got an arsenal down in south, got a pig farm out in west
    So just drop one text, fly down the M25(highway) no stress
    Yeah, you know me son, you know my face
    You know my status (you know my status)

    Yo dude, I seen a bunch of people in comments mention the boys did work in the 70s and got ties from before that, but seen nobody in top comments dropping actual names of who they had ties to. Legend (and some of their official bios) has it that they related/tied somehow to the Krays and the Richardsons gangs. Those gangs ran London in the 50s-60s with iron fist and cops on payroll. Both were fatal, but the Richardsons were especially brutal, earned themselves the nickname the Torture Gang because dudes who crossed them were treated to the Richardsons favorite punishments: pulling teeth with pliers, electrocution in a bathtub til passing out, and literally being nailed to wood floors with nails half a foot long.
