All of these mysteries are what I sometimes think about from time to time. Especially Spectra's and Astranova's.
Sometimes when in class I’ll just randomly think about astranova
my head cannon for spectra is that she and her family were wrongfully accused of a crime and were subsequently executed, so she pursued journalism to pursue the truth, but it got to her head and ended up writing gossip and lies in order to feed her ego. Until the events of haunted ofc
and her chains could also represent how she was a prisoner
Kinda like the last Romanov family of Russia, where the Romanov family were place under house arrest and later murder in the execution style in the cellar basement. Minus the wrongfully accused of a crime.

Honestly, the Astronova mystery is pretty simple to me. Why is she connected to Ever After High? Simple, cause she is the daughter of the shooting star. We know how in many fairytale stories the characters wish upon a star. So I think it would be logical to assume that Astronova fills that roll in the fairytale world.
Also, doesn't the word "astranova" mean something like "an explosion in space"?

I've always thought possibly Astronova just crash landed in Ever After just as she did in the MH universe, so obviously meaning she would have known of the ever after high students. But I think your theory is simpler. 😅

I always liked the idea that Spectra was a human living in the early 19th century as Austrian nobility. She was still a major gossip who liked making up rumors. Eventually her stories got her on the wrong side of someone important, and she and her family were assassinated. I like the idea that she specifically died drowning because of the way her hair floats in the cartoon
I love that idea! Also, given all the balls and chains. If they were murdered by drowning, Spectra and her family were probably tied to something heavy. Furthermore, her pale purple/blue lips, extremities, and overall cool color pallete. The lack of oxygen from a death like drowning tends to turn the extremities of a corpse blue or purple (also know as cyanosis).

Okay I did a little more reading, and death by drowning can ALSO cause maceration of the skin, aka the skin absorbs water and turns white, and even translucent in places. We know ghosts in the MH universe come in all sorts of colors, so Spectra is white for a reason (not just because she's a ghost). Something about her death or circumstances had to cause her skin to turn that color, so with that added information it has GOT to be a water-related death.
I was just thinking, but it’s not uncommon for deaths to be hidden and forgotten so it could be that hers was never found and was covered up . I guess that could be the thing that influenced her to start a gossip journalist vlog to compensate for the pain that nobody discovered along with secrets around her identity ( which I think had something to do w with her death), which was clearly something she wasn’t willing to share with the short explanation in mh haunted

Saw a theory at one point that Astranova was supposed to be the wishing star. Not sure where i read that, but I always found it cute

Astronova’s so underrated 🥺
I think Cupid says she's a Monster because she's probably was raised in a Family of Monsters, and she just assumed she was a Monster when growing up. But she calls herself a Monster because she knows she would be part of her family, no matter who she is.
But it's confirmed she was raised by Eros who is a god so she wouldn't be under the impression that she's a monster based on who she was raised by.

I feel like Frankie looking like the explorer might just be because they didn't want to make another model and used hers as it was easier, Skull Shores was one of the earlier movies so it makes sense. But I think it's a very interesting idea, it's creepy to think that Frankie's body belonged to another girl once.
We also have to remember that multiple characters were made as new arrivals in that movie so it can't be a case of reusing models without it being on purpose; the difference with the explorer girl is that her resemblance to Frankie is called out multiple times in the film itself by other characters so it was a strange detail for the characters to point out for it to never be mentioned again

I like to think Frankie is actually made of parts from one person only; especifically the explorer, and the movie was actually showing us Frankie's past this whole time.
Like, putting someone back together, using electric strengh from a thunder to wake them up (which is not so different from real life, with defibrillators), and adopting them as their son/daughter because they lost their memory of everything they had lived until then.
Basically bringing someone back to life and taking care of them bc they got amnesia.
As a fellow adopted person, I love that there's so many adopted characters in Monster High.
Ikr it honestly blew my mind to see that Draculaura was adopted and she was my favourite

My theory on Spectra is that even she doesn't know how she died. That's why she's obsessed with being a journalist, because journalists specialize in investigating. Not knowing how she died must have eaten at her, so she wanted to know everything
So about spectra.
I actually think the team did an incredible job in not telling that story. She clearly has PTSD and is unwilling to open that old wound. And that's something the fandom, and the in-universe ghouls, should respect. Unfortunately, in the real world, a person's trauma story is theirs, and theirs alone. If they want to share it, that's fine. But if they don't feel ready to share, like spectra obviously doesn't, then it's the responsibility of others not to pry.

Yes, and the ptsd shows that it must have either been a slow and painful death, or a death followed by lots of fear. My current theory is that her family was war criminals. Her design always has chains (designed cannon most likely from just ghost culture but I’m not so sure). She has transparent hands and feet, which leads me to believe that she most likely froze to death ( hands and feet are the first thing to freeze from lack of circulation) or

About the Astranova going to EAH plotline, perhaps to the fairytale creatures and folk or Ever After, she was seen as the wishing star that princesses or heroes would wish on and look to for guidance? Kind of like how Astranova's music guided Catty Noir in Boo York? My personal theory 🤗
8:23 hold on, RS could also be Robecca Steam's initials! Maybe she created Gooliope? She definitely knows about engineering and mad science, but I suppose the timelines wouldn't match up since Robecca was disassembled for many years before being put back together in Friday Night Frights.

Another mystery we never got solved was how Johnny Spirit got so many years of detention or how he passed. I personally believe that he’s *the* Johnny from “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” who beat the devil in a fiddling contest to save his soul. Unfortunately, the devil was a sore loser and took his soul anyway, leaving Johnny to haunt the earth forever.
Aye, I like that theory! My favorite song! I just always thought he was a greaser deliquent in life, and kept his tendencies. I mean if he could get in and out of trouble in life, he can do it in death. But your theory is more interesting. A country boy that dies after a music duel with the devil, and as he lives his afterlife, go through all the time periods that passed during his death. He fixated on the 60s, loving the greaser life. He adopted the greaser lifestyle, and became johnny spirit, the deliquent. Again, he seemed to be a troublemaker in the song, makes sense he would be one in death. Plus, music was a big deal in the 60s, and Johnny was a musician, so yeah! Your theory is better.

From her journal, Spectra's family seems to have died for reasons FAR from the fabricated story. If it was any similar to the truth it would be too hard to talk about.
Id guess from her design and character she was stuck in one place to die a slow death. Two weights tied to her boots she uses as heels, might represent the people who were responsible for her death.
As ive commented once in the reddit, Spectra's whole existence was based on being such a no-life you live it through other people's business, hence her fondness pf gossip and documentation.
Instead of something drastic id guess... Spectra was neglected. She lived an unhappy, uneventful life. Unfortunate circumstances led to her early demise due to her break down over her past suggesting it was not self-imposed.
I think since she died a long time ago she might of contracted a disease like whooping cough and spread it to her family on accident, killing them all.
Or she might of snooped around too much and ended up knocking over and oil lamp and burning her whole family alive with her, also killing them.
The chains she wears are a punishment for dooming her family, even if it was an accident, it’s the burden she has to carry.
She can’t talk about what was said in the news paper because it points to her as suspect numeron uno, and she can’t live with the guilt.
@@cinderellaskeleton6720 her being the reason her family died or suffered sounds compelling. As if the truth in her pastlife is binding HER, not someone else having a grip on her soul. If she did have a grudge on something she wouldve been far less passive in the og series. Like shes more of an innocent troublemaker not out of malice.
My head canon is that Spectra and her family were executed.
My theory is that Astranova was a student at EAH and her destiny was to be the wishing star. And then, at some point Cupid accidentally spilled the beans about MH and Astranova was the only one who believed her. Astranova then set off to find the monster world. But this is just a theory.
I read a theory about Cupid on a Facebook comment in a MH group (I don't remember who posted the theory 😔 it was posted some time ago) that said that maybe Cupid was daughter of Hades and Persephone! She'd get her monster appearance from Hades, and her more human one from her mother. And when Eros adopted Cupid he gave her thr wings. Why would they leave her on his door...I don't remember if the person of the theory answered that, but maybe since their marriage was a bit controversial in the myths having a kid wouldn't be well received e.e
Since gods do exist in the MH universe I think it's a pretty valid and interesting theory!

That could explain why Ca Cupid went from MH to EAH so easily : Hades was living i the underworld and persephone was from Mount Olympus. idk tho it might be a little far fetched

Tbh, I think Cupid is the daughter of Eros and Psyche instead.
The human aspect from Psyche, because she was a mortal princess turned goddess. And the monster aspect from Eros, because Eros was considered a monster in the Greek myth (and Aphrodite in the myth wanted Psyche to fall in love with "the most miserable creature living, the most poor, the most crooked, and the most vile, that there may be none found in all the world of like wretchedness," because people considered Psyche to be more beautiful than Aphrodite, who took offense to it, so she sent Eros to fulfil that but fell in love with Psyche himself so became the very vile being to do it.) Goddess of the Soul and God of Erotic Love, the bone element of Cupid might've been the representation of soulmates in and after death.
And it was an happily ever after, so that's maybe why she can transfer into EAH, since well, Psyche was a mortal princess. And Cupid being a royal also makes sense because Psyche eventually turned into a goddess. And about being an orphan being left on Cupid's door, I don't believe it even if it's canon.
Cupid being a child of Eros and Psyche makes the most sense ngl. And Cupid, was, technically maybe a demigod.

Personally I think Spectra may be a hinted representation of how when people go through extremely traumatic things it can lead to memory loss. She may be hyperfixated, always trying to find the truth, trying to make up stories in hopes she might unlock memories, but gets carried away.
I feel like Astranova's mystery would have been solved if the MH series hadn't been brought to an abrupt end, and then ruined by a reboot. Like in Lego Ninjago, where we'll never find out what happens to fix like 7 different cliffhangers because they suddenly rebooted the series without finishing up the storylines they already had going.
I wouldn't say the reboot ruined monster high, but it was a little abrupt to suddenly switch to a reboot

They sacrificed a lot to appeal to younger audiences and dumbed down their existing characters to nostalgia bait older fans
I read somewhere Spectra is the soul of Ghoulia when she was alive and that Ghoulia's body was later reanimated as a zombie.
I've heard somewhere that it was confirmed Ghoulia was born a zombie but that's a good theory tho

I think spectra dad might have worked for a newspaper company in the 1930's and he inspired her to become a journalist. He could have an office at home where he wrote articles and maybe they all died in a housefire.
If that was the case they probably all died from a mafia hit or something, makes sense why her feet are weighted down...

Frankie's part were exchanged from time to time in order to prevent her body from rotting so I'd say she may have "inherited" the face but the rest is anonymous
My guess is that her body parts were kept in an ice container (just like how people store organs and blood meant for donation as well as animal sperm and eggs cells for "frozen zoos").
Thx for making this video I was wondering what C.A. Cupid stands for. My theory for spectra’s passing is that she was a journalist in the “normie” world but one story went to deep and ended up leading to her death, perhaps a murder mystery.

spectra always has a lot of chains on all of her outfits, and she has chain and ball earrings so maybe her death has to do with jail? and her cheekbones might be from her banshee type design and character or from staving is jail. maybe her uncle framed her famil for somthing and no one looked deeper and told the story, it atleast no one read the papers that told it, so in her afterlife she wanted to tell a story monsters would read and later, the true story.
What about the deaths of the other ghosts?

Spectra’s box says she’s “Daughter of the Ghosts”. I think both her parents are ghosts and she was born one, or at least that’s what her box was implying. I still think it would be way cooler if she had a tragic story explaining her death.
I agree. Freaky Fusion confirmed that ghosts in the MH world can still have children, so I feel it makes more sense if a lot of the ghostly students were just born that way. (Except Vandala and Johnny Spirit. I strongly headcanon they were both mortal once) BTW, I remember the MH creators confirming all the zombies were never once humans.

@@serenitygilles7064 Neighthan actually has an interesting backstory in his doll diary that clears up the questions about his parentage. It turns out his mom can shapeshift from human to unicorn whenever she wishes, making her some sort of sorceress or fairy, rather than an actual animal.
All this monster high lore would make a great movie , I would to see all the Gould origin stories in animation 😩😩

Thinking about that kind of makes sense bc Frankensteins monsters whole thing in the book is having an existential crisis for the way he was made and how he got treated bc of it. It would make sense he wouldn't want his daughter to deal with that too

It also borders south asia meaning she’s either south or east/central asian. It makes no sense that she talks like that, but i don’t think the writers ever cared

It’s a shame companies aren’t willing to finalise aspects of characters stories because there’s so many people out there who get invested and want to know the entirety of a characters background
In my opinion, i read about Monster High Fanfiction would be 'For Those Left Behind' it's a story about any ghosts of Monster High which life can be a fragile, finite thing, and though it may end, the pain does not. An exploration of the origins and deaths of Monster High's ghostly students.
It's kinda sad and tragic story on Fanfiction.

I think the astranova mystery is by far the most interesting mystery because it left the door open for so many possibilities
I just believe that C.A.Cupid is a bone elemental. I made a fusion doll of skelita and cupid. It's one of my favorites
I always just assumed that Astranova had crash landed in Ever After like she did in the Monster World. It said somewhere that she was attending Monster High until her family was able to come pick her up, but maybe she had crashed in Ever After first and rebuilt her ship to fly home, only to crash again in the Monster World.
I think Astra knowing about EAH makes sense... she's a WISHING STAR. Wishing stars and fairy tails go hand in hand.
I always figured Gooliope was the daughter of The Blob.
Me too! There’s a sequel to The Blob movie called Son of the Blob, so I always assumed that Gooliope was a reference to that.

Since the MH×EAH crossover happened well never know but my theory is that some of the EAH students would be turned into Monsters if they crossed over like Cupid does(Cerise would turn into a werewolf, Raven might be a green witch, etc) even though they look human in their world. Also I never saw that Spectra discrimination moment until now omg
I thought you maybe would put the mystery of how Robecca's father disappeared, I know that there is probably no exact answer and that it is somewhat cliché to remember this but I still find it interesting to know why and how he disappeared. By the way nice video ♡
omg wait I completely forgot in the movie..did it ever explain what happened to him?? I don’t think so right? It went way over my head because of the time travel so my brain registered as they reunited and we’re together.. wow thats crazy

about the lost characters: i'm not sure if most of y'all know there was a planned movie that was scrapped sadly (i've only seen the movie being reffered to as "the lost movie") and there is concept art of a kumiho character floating around reffered to as Euna and tbh i feel really sad she didn't make the cut because she's stunning!! her story was also really intriguing according to what i could find on the wiki, 100% would be one of the best characters (really hoping they use her somewhere in the 2022 reboot)

There’s actually a myth here in the Philippines about Elementals & Encantos-so my theory is that C.A. Cupid might be an Encanto or an Elemental that could take up a form of a normal human & even another ghoul (that’s what the myths about Elementals here in the PH is all about)...
Cupid's name "Chariclo" is actually pronounced as "HA-REE-KLO" in Greek, but I guess there are some origins of the name that is also pronounced differently. I actually read something (probably in Cupid's diary.. just don't remember) she had a note from her father, Eros, and he said that she was neither monster nor human and that she's an unknown type of being. But probably she is some sort of a skeleton due to her bony wings.
Spectra's past really interests me now and I didn't even thinking about it before 🤔🤔🤔
For cupid: In Eros and Psyche's story, Psyche has to go to the underworld, to get Some of Persephone's beauty. Hear me out: Cupid is from the underworld, hence the bone wings and pale, ghostly skin in MH. She's dropped off at the temple, and is adopted. Shes raised in both worlds, able to find a balance. Eros gives her feathers when she goes to EA, to make her appear more fairytale like and less scary. Because bones are associated with villains ( ex. Raven Queen), and we've seen how judgemental EAH can be. Not to mention her leggings are similar to her actual legs in MH, leading me to believe she keeps certain parts of her monster form just for kicks, an no one notices, becauese why would a clearly good person have evill looking limbs. At MH, she revert to her original , more edgy appearance with lots of black clothes, black limbs, bones, and pale skin. Also, elaborating on the underworld and the wings: being from the underworld, she may be dead. Its shown many times the gods can bring someone back to life. When a flying creature dies, the bones in their wings are exposed over time. And her hands and legs are black, like necrosis. I think shes brought to life to go to EAH, and "dies" (just like a quick * POOF * ) to go to MH. It'd be normal, since a lot of monsters are formerly living people. And dead people dont fot to fairy tale school.
i just love C.A. cupid’s bone wings. she is just so cute. and i def think she is a monster that can pass as a god/whatever she was in E.A.

I think Cupid's one would have been explored in the crossover between MH and EAH that never happened.
All these mysteries are super cool. Especially, Spectra's and Astranova's stories.

I think C.A Cupid is a nymph. Nymphs can very in elements like water, earth (such as meadows, trees, etc), and are or can be minor deities in Greek mythology!
I think since her family died in a "tragic accident" was maybe a lie and that she and her family maybe committed familicide. Which is when a family commits suicide. Especially since her family was exiled from the royal throne they must have felt down and felt there was nothing to live for. My opinions are quite odd 😅😅.
I haven't watched boo york in a really long time so I don't know if this is an accurate theory, but since astronova can travel to the monster world maybe she went to the eah one first? Became friends with apple and raven and since rumors existed about mh they asked if she could travel there?

Spectra is actually Anastasia because her family died in the night fleeing through enemy territory during a storm
To be honest I think that in the movie Skull shors with what they showed the bad guy in the movie was probably the one who killed Frankie and probably chopped her up and when Frankenstein (the monster) found her he sowed her up in the places that were cut off and brought her back to life.
These mysteries keep me in this fandom and I love it so much! Though I never questioned a lot of lore stuff for dolls I do now and it has me asking even more questions!!
Biggest plot hole of all time: spectra went to haunted high and left but also said principal revenant’s home was the school and used it to give away her chains so why was spectra so clueless as to why chains were given out when she used to go there?
Because she found that out in the movie She probably just thought they were a form of punishment before because she never got in trouble I headcannon that she was really shy and was more of a goodie two shoes before she transferred to MH so maybe she just never did anything that would be considered bad when she went there

The monster high live actors don’t look the greatest 😭
As someone who loved greek mythology as a kid I might have an explanation about C.A. Cupid calling herself a monster. She could’ve have been born from a monster type creature like the cyclops. Like them she could’ve been birthed from a god but more considered a monster. Also stories surrounding Eros sometimes reference him as a “force the gods fear” and in his story with psyche he told her he was a monster. My theory is that both of these could have influenced her and that she personally identifies as a monster more bc if genetics.
I'm from south africa and I would've loved to see what a lightening bird is! I've never actually heard of it so I wish I could've seen it as a doll of my favorite TV show 😩

My head cannon for spectra is her dream was to be a journalist as a kid she would always get made fun of for it. I saw someone mention the Romanovs for Spectra so I looked up on Google 19th century European families and Spectra's story in the video game seems somewhat similar to the Romanovs! I originally thought of Marie Antoinette and how they were trying to flee France and cross into Austria, however the French Revolution happened in the 18th century so Spectra being a Romanov makes sense in a way since the Romanovs were alive in the 19th century
I had a couple thoughts about cupid's parents. either she's the biological daughter of Hera, considering she's the goddess of fertility and childbirth.
Or aphrodite is the biological mother, and hades would have been the father, im only speculating that due to the skeleton like wings cupid has. And aphrodite didn't want anyone to know, so she left her for Eros to find.
OR Aphrodite created cupid like how she was created, and left her for her son to find.

Another thing I wonder is when normies die do they become monsters? Im sure not ALL of them do but I wonder if its just randomized?? or there might me another deeper reason? I believe that Cupid didn't say anything about MH in EAH because the separate worlds were meant to be a secret. I wish we got the crossover that Mattel was hinting at because imagining her new friends finding out about her old friends. And then there's Abbey 😂

Also, Cupid somehow transferred to the EAH world, so some type of connection is possible.
We know that there was supposed to be a crossover between MH and EAH, right? So that's also something.
I have this theory that she (and Cupid's transfer to EAH) was just hinting that the crossover would happen sometime soon (kinda sad it never happened, except in the book???)

I think Cupid is a type of nexus being where Monsters, Fairy tales, Myths, ghosts, (possible gods), and maybe a few other things meet.
With Spectra maybe the ghost world is one of many nexus point and has a type time dilation that's continually always shifting depending on the closed worlds it's near.
(Astranova might also be from a nexus point and visted to Ever After before ending up and monster high)
