Race Driver Cup is probably a reference to the TOCA Race Driver (as it was known in Britain) series which was a forerunner to Race Driver GRID (2008).

That name Race Driver Cup might be a reference to the older Toca games. Grid is a follow up to that series.

I am hyped about this comeback. It was such a surprise for me to see that Grid came back when the trailer came out.
The first time I played dirt 2 was the happiest day of my life, my first time playing grid was a little bit less happy but still good.
Codemasters make the best racing games I’ve ever played.
I remember playing the grid autosport demo on the 360 and the silvia s15 drift car was just absolutely awesome. From what i understand the interior design was removed before the initial game release which i was never given the oppurtunity to play :(

Realistically they could've just taken the same untouched game engine from the first GRID, slapped more tracks and car models into it and I think a ton of people would've been happy. The biggest downside for me of the 2008 GRID Game was that it felt a little bit like a Codies, 'Look at our fancy tire barrier physics' demo. Just build upon what you have, don't overcomplicate it. It's the same issue I have with GTA games.
I saw the classic R32 GTR in there... Is there an Australian track (specifically Bathurst/Mount Panorama) where we can race it like back in the 90's? Good video btw

Being serious, if it wasn’t for Race Driver GRID, I wouldn’t have become a big fan of racing/driving games. Yeah I played Nascar Games way before and some Gran Turismo 3 as well as Burnout & Need for Speed, But GRID opened my eyes to a bigger world and I’m excited for the new one. I even bought the recent Switch port of Autosport and despite it removing a few things it’s still a good game in my opinion and the port runs well.
Honestly your videos remind me of myself when I'm off my ADHD meds but this was a nice blend of quality and cancer. Well done.

ive tried that game out and the default settings drove me nuts (btw the beta bugs still beeing present in the release versions). Only after dissabling all the driver assists it was enjoyable otherwise i had no idea how the car gonna respond to a given "command" i know wierd description but take my word for it.

the damage is much more realistic in the first game

I just want Adelaide back. I miss that track from the ToCA days
I'm hopeful for this game, but I absolutely hated the way that GRID 2 played with all the cars feeling almost as floaty and unpredictable as the cars in The Crew 1. But, because ShinyProtogen pulled through, I'll give it a shot anyways.
