The year is 841 - King Harol is dead. As word of his death echoes throughout the kingdom, the crown passes to his arrogant, yet untested son Magnus.

Absolutely love the art style of this game.
This has quickly become one of my most anticipated games. Looks great! I hope it comes to console soon.

Moon Studios is an incredibly talented studio. Both Ori games were phenomenal and I love where they're going with this. So hyped.
Definitely one of the most anticipated games for me. Soulslike with a story and amazing setting. I also started getting in to arpg games with the Diablo series couple years ago.
The main thing i took away from watching Cowboy play:
NRFTW rewards Parrying + Blocking. During the dev showcase, they stated how the combat drew inspiration from dark souls and fighting games and it shows. The devs want the players to understand attack patterns, pacing, and not resort to hack and slash tactics.
Besides stamina management, there's startup + recovery frames that's impacted based on your weight and weapon (greatsword deals chunky damage but the recovery frames after an attack sequence is long, which makes sense).
While you're not hard locked into a "class" it's obvious that sooner or later you're going to distribute stat points to take advantage of certain weapons.
If you want to go at it like Guts from Berserk, pumping strength to equip stronger greatswords is a must, focus on Dexterity will make equiping dual daggers and if they have, bows much easier to do so.

can't wait for this to come out. the art style, the exploration/secrets, the focus on intelligent/harder combat vs fewer enemies - as opposed to some games i won't mention - is all super appealing.

The cool down on using the food to heal.. is it just on that food item? Or can you swap to a different food item to heal while the other one is cooling down?

Cowboy I wish you'd check out "Sands of Aura". It looks like a very similar game, a top down soulslike arpg. I think you'd enjoy the setting, the world is being slowly swallowed by quicksand and you fly a sand ship called "the grainwake" between little islands.

The animations are fluid and impact full unlike Diablo 4 that you keep pressing buttons.
I bought an Xbox series S like 6 months ago just cuz i never want to miss a truly great game no matter the console. I barely play it though, Im on the PS5 a lot more but this game.. This game will have me taking days off of work to pull some all nighters on the Series S. Idk why but im already in love with this dang game man😂🖤🖤

Been looking forward to this one not usually my style I live souls likes but never been into the metroidvania or w.e you call it however this game looked awesome and seemed to be really smoothe gameplay
All souls games are 3d metroidvania except elden ring.
Started playing will of the wisps again as I never finished it
Put the 2nd weapon in the slot you had the shield... The symbol has a shield and sword on which I guess means if you want to duel weld you put a weapon there instead of the shield
The showcase video also shows them duel welding weapons so it's definitely possible
I tried a few times and it wouldn't go, it didnt show as an option

i just read some of the steam reviews and they're basically all just personal complaints, have nothing to do with the actual game, but all to do with the game not being what a particular user wanted. That is the state of reviews these days. It's sad.

There are a lot of people who do this same shit that don't treat their viewers like this. I only stopped in to watch this because nobody else is showcasing it, and I'm interested in the game. He, however, definitely makes it less enjoyable to watch.
