    Wasn't aware taping was necessary. Mfgr says any that if it touches your paint can simply be wiped off. But if you have the time and motivation, just makes final results that much better I guess!

    Step 1: Apply painter's tape to painted areas of vehicle....
    Step 2: When your buddy arrives at your house and interferes with your work, stop, stand, then raise hand and extend middle finger upward, thus flipping him off.
    The camera never lies! Neither do reflections cast from the rear of your vehicle 😉

    Absolutely don't use Cerakote products on your trim if the car is evenly remotely new. They won't tell you this, which is appalling, but it'll wreck trim on a new car. The off gassing will push the coating away from the surface and can't be fixed. There should be a class action lawsuit against the company, no questions asked.

    • @revd4461
      @revd4461 Před rokem +2

      100% correct. The out gassing and releasing agents present in newer trim will cause these products (including wipe new) to crack and flake.
      They work great on old, dry, faded trim.

      @@adrenalinemadness3340exactly its mesmerizing me how all these complaints come from new cars. Buddy its a trim RESTORER and a ceramic SEALANT. They complain about sealing off their brand new sweating trim 😂 If you REALLY need to protect your new car black trim just put a UV protection made for that. Or even a carnauba wax. Honestly guys, if its new its sweating oil. When it stops sweating (approx 5 yrs outside) you can add 303 protectant and it will condition it nicely to sweat again. When your car is 10-15-20 depending on care/abuse, you can safely use a product like cerakote trim. I just used it on a 10 yrs old rav4. Trim wasnt hazed up too hard but you could tell it was dry, pored up and gripping up anything thrown at it like velcro. This is where a coating like this works wonders. It basicly fills up the pores on the plastic and gives it back that slick oiled up condition for a very long time.
      The only downside to me is the lack of conditioning with polymers. But honestly for the protection it gives its still a win in my book. If your trim isnt cracking, it wont go further once you put this. On the opposite the seal of the gassing off might help bring back some oil on the surface.

    • @PatTheRiot
      @PatTheRiot Před 10 měsíci

      @@adrenalinemadness3340Turned out super duper slick on the rav too. I prepped my surface nicely (magic pad wet sand, pencil eraser on spots, IPA wipe down after a dawn wash) I knew I was nailing it by the way it was sucking up differentely on the small inside trim corners that werent as dried up.
      Car looks new now after a full compound polish klasse combo + collinite on the entire paint. Cerakote brought back that brutal black to match the metallic red. Did the headlight restore mediun from meguiars on yellow lights. That stuff is SLICK. Its an acrylic coating literally that reconditions to new the plastic. The beauty in it: its acrylic so you can use klasse AIO and sealant glaze on them. Ill never have to redo the headlights.
