    Great Tutorial thank you!
Here and there I would have liked a bit more explaination of the VEX code. Meaning a better description of what the code is actually doing. But maybe thats only for me as a beginner.

Do you know how I'd go about using the infection as a driver for the rigid bodies simulation? A little confused on how to get that started

One way to do it is using packed geometry as bullet rbd pieces. Then you can set the "active" atribute of a piece to enable/disable it during the simulation. Since its just a regular point attribute, you can base the value off of the infection effect (via attribute transfer or whatever you like).

Great tutorial! One question: At some point, you change the number of points in the scatter from 13,xxx to 10,000. When I do this. and I try to select starting points using the "by point indices" method, I now get an error saying "tuple index out of range." Any idea what's happening here?

Hey, hard to tell without looking at the hip, but can you try to dive into the hda (or subnet) and modify the point selection right inside the "group" node and see if that works ? It could be that the newer versions of Houdini changed how soputils module work (the script thing I show at around 54:30). This has been recorded on H16.5 so its very likely it might behave differently nowadays.
