12th place of 135 in Famicompo Pico 4 covers section.
This was by far my biggest single cover I've ever done. I wish it hadn't been my only submission to FCP4, but this was my first compo and I'm very happy with getting within top 20, which was my goal. I've never done anything with this much multichip, but I think I did pretty damn well with mixing.
The idea was for each chip to come in one at a time, as the song slowly builds up. This is based on the OST version; I didn't cover each individual section. And also, a BIG shout-out to Lena Raine for composing this game's soundtrack. It's one of my favorites of all time. - Hudba

this is fucking fantastic. seriously, not only was the use of multichip pulled off very nicely, but also this is incredibly spot on as a cover and it just sounds so good in general. massive props to you, this deserves way way way more views

I absolutely love the way you managed to reproduce the ghostly synth and the droning badeline bass synth. Both sound fantastic and pretty much exactly like the original
I love the echoey ghostly feeling you kept with this cover. Honestly this song works even better in that regard in 8-bit! The synths feel so alien. Plus the percussion was on point.
I didn't know Famitracker could make those sounds. Well fucking played.
This is one of the best I've seen. You must have a really good ear.
There was only one inaccuracy that I could find: the descending arpeggios in the piano track at 3:32 (and when they loop back around at 5:08) are all the same here, but they actually vary a bit, like the ones at 1:32 (although perhaps less).
So now I'm trying to get 0CC-FamiTracker, and I downloaded the folder from GitHub and there's no application executable in it. No instructions anywhere online except that it's "standalone" and you don't need the basic FamiTracker to use it. Any help?

@@IsabelleChiming So I eventually figured out how to open the software (I was trying to run the source code, silly me) and I figured messing with your file would be a good way to learn to edit. Aside from the one arpeggio spot, I changed the piano chords a bit to sound more like the original, and moved some of the notes in one of the bass tracks up an octave.

that theremin part is really freakin sick!! was it a sample or recreated by ear?
You mean was it premade or did I make it from scratch? The latter! It uses a wave I made (smth close to a sine) combined with the triangle channel. It’s really not to complex, sound generation on a theremin is v basic afaik. Anyway, thank you!!
