- In this Cities Skylines 2 video, i finish my first big project in my Cities Skylines 2 career. I use all the new mechanics and show you that this game looks absolutely incredible, especially with the photo mode!

Mine does too. I watch all these videos and still can not achieve the mixture of build height that looked just rite. Everyone's city's looks way better.
Just spend like 30min on Google earth looking at random cities, you'll get inspiration and layout knowledge

Imperatur, haven't seen you do it yet so I figured I would let you know that pedestrian pathways can also be used as quarry walls when set to 3m height and slightly in the water.

Looks amazing! Like other comments, trying to be inspired and then realizing I am bad at it buuut seeing what can be achieved with standard non modded tools and all...very impressive. Just by YOUR ingenuity and creativity. It`s motivating at least to see whats possible and trying even for a fraction of that beauty on my I don`t know...6th attempt now:-)
Maybe sometime there is a chance to get a video of "how you plan" this kind of stuff out?
Like how do you figure by looking at a map thats what you want to do.....do you treat it "just" like a picture to be painted? Or are the cities actually functional/profitable? Do you consider the traffic or does it not matter as long as the road network and so on just looks nice? I am really curious on the thought process of this beauty versus function. Hi! I think you could cover those unrealistic green areas next to skyscrapers with some medium density houses. I always feel that your cities don't have enough residents compared to their size. But aside from this, the city is amazing again, just like every single time!

Genuine question... with building residential so close to industrial, pollution and public transport is not taken into consideration in your builds? Or just for purely esthetics?
I noticed the wind is blowing the smoke-stacks away from the closest residential, so it's probably not an issue. Public transportation is something I have no idea about, but the pollution thing seems to be taken into a realistic account.
@wackcat2043 saw that too, but ground pollution is not in the game again?
@@blackineeseit is included, even more realistically with lasting quite some time even after industry was demolished
The wind is blowing in the other direction and its not so close to be affected of ground polution

I think the layout is spot on, but the proximity is a little off. The suburbs, for example, seem a little too close to the downtown. As does the farmland.
What should be there instead?
Well, I think the suburbs in this regard would make more sense as a grid, given how close it is to downtown. I think the suburbs that you built here would make more sense where you put the farmland. @@imperatur

Although the city is magnificently beautiful, unfortunately I dont think the city layout and scale is realistic and this is the fault of CS2, which ive been noticing for a while now. For a city of merely 43 000 people, having a downtown with huge skyscrapers, a cargo shipyard, highly developed trail and highway networks is a bit of a stretch. To be honest, CitiesXXL has a better layout and scale proportions than CS2. And the basic highway in CitiesXXL is better than CS2 with a minimum of guardrails (traffic or crash barrier better known in the UK) separating between them, as well as overhead road direction signs.

Seeing how you put so much effort into your cities I recommend you try playing Soviet republic it’s way more interesting then cs 2
