    I have been doing cabinets for years and I recently purchased the PSDR system. This DEFINITELY lives up to the hype!! I was so skeptical about making the purchase but I'm so glad I did! We were also able to knock out a set of cabinets (Approximately 40 doors and drawer faces) in one and a half days with 3 - 4 guys. I have the crew start the dismantling, labeling, and taping up process. Once we get so far I have 1 or 2 guys fall back and start spraying doors while the other(s) finish up masking and prepping the cabinet frames. By the time the doors were sprayed, then the cabinets frames were ready. The PSDR is a great system that I was able to incorporate pretty flawlessly. It saved me a tremendous amount of time and ultimately money. Thanks for introducing this product to us Chris!! Appreciate your great videos! God Bless!

    I bought this product about a month ago and have used it twice. It is a total game changer. I used to use saw horses to make a table and spray one side of the doors at a time. With this system you not only can spray all sides in one go but the racking system makes it super convenient for doing the next coats after that. It decreased the work it took to do cabinet spraying by 2/3. Highly recommend!! Appreciate what y’all do at Paint Life!

    I've used that same technique with the Hangers. The biggest issue was the fact they spin and you had to space the doors further apart taking up more spaced. Def go w fixes Hangers if you use that method. Good video guys.

Can't wait to get this. I almost thought you guys developed this tech. So cool they let you sell it on your store for us. Thanks for making this available to us in the States.

    I love the racks you hang them on. We had a large set of heavy gauge wire hanger that we would loop and put a screw in. Put the hole under the hinge so the hole is covered when you put it back together. The fact that you can hang that many doors on one rack would be nice.

    I do cabinets with your same system i seen it on a old video but i used metal hangers that would spin. We would have one rack made out of that square strut that has holes eveny spaced on one side. I used it as an electrican years ago. But we would hang each door then have a hook somewhere convienent so we dont have to hold them out by hand its super tiring like that. When done spraying the door it goes right back on the strut. To 4 ft ladders would hold up the strut

    I thought I was a genius when I realized if I put hooks in the bottom of tops of the doors and then hung them from a $15 Walmart clothes rack to spray (using the wooden hangers, that would always fall part) then hang them on commercial clothes racks I bought off craigslist (clothing store liquidation). Worked for me for about 4 years, even had a box fan with an HVAC filter in front of it to catch overspray. Then I saw your video's using the PVC spray racks, and I was just like, these dummies. But then after seeing this and how much easier it is to break down, store, and transport, I went ahead and bought the paintline system. Much easier. And I never took the time to fill the holes in the cabinets and never got any complaints or call backs, if you drill in the right spot, up high on the uppers, down low on the lowers, once reinstalled no one will ever see them.
    A few years ago I also tried to turn one of those big white commercial canopy tents you see at the fairgrounds into a portable spray tent, it weighed a ton and if assembled outside in the summer (No space in garage or home) it would end up being like a greenhouse. It worked great on paper but not in theory and was a pain in the butt to assemble. Then I saw the ad for the portable spray booth from paint line and ordered it on the spot. Waiting for the June 22nd ship date, wish I had it now to use on my current cabinet repaint as the customer left me with enough room in the garage to fit a mini cooper and yet I have 60 doors and drawers to spray. Ended up taking them home to my shop to work on. My next hurdle will be figuring out how to transport all doors and drawers back to the customers home without any scratches or dings while in the bed of my truck. I guess lots of bubble wrap, or in the past I bought a bunch of those $5 felt blankets from Walmart to wrap them in but I feel like there's got to be a better way. If you can solve that one for me I will never have to take over a customers garage again. Spray doors at home, watch tv and play video games in between coats, then only goto the site to spray the boxes.
    Working smarter, and not harder, all while increasing efficiency and improving the finished product are my priorities and any investment that does that for me is definitely worth it.
    Now I just wish I wasn't having such a tough time finding compatible 3m PPS products, I keep getting sent items from their legacy system and their 2.0 system, wasted not only money but much needed time while waiting for delivery. I'm a one man crew so unfortunately a day and a half turnover rate is not currently within reach.

    • @shannonp4037
      @shannonp4037 Před 3 lety +2

      You should look into 3' wide x ???' of clothing material from walmart or some other fabric retailer. You can buy it cheap. Wrap the doors like ribbon candy and you should be good. Cheaper than bubble wrap.

    • @tompearsall7863
      @tompearsall7863 Před 3 lety

      @@shannonp4037 That's a good idea, like felt or something. I used to buy the cheap felt blankets from walmart for like $5 and wrap them up using those and every single blanket and towel I owned. Then I started using the foam underlayment for pergo flooring but that stuff is kind of expensive. I'm currently working on a big cabinet job with 122 doors and drawers, the next puzzle I need to solve is how to stack all of the newly finished pieces into the bed of my truck securely so they don't slide around or get scratched while transporting them back to the customers house.

    • @shannonp4037
      @shannonp4037 Před 3 lety

      Tom Pearsall I’m thinking you use the fabric rolls to wrap the doors and place them in a box (wood crate is sturdiest) then with the drawers, assuming they’re complete with boxes and fronts, use insulation foam sheets layed across each drawer and place the other drawers on them stacked. Place more foam on the sides and tape them tight. You can also add bubble wrap for additional cushion.

So I went to hdeopt and bought adjustable metal shelving system that I screw two metal pieces 16 in apart and can put these metal arms to any size I want . did it less then 30 minutes and if I'm not doing doors I just take off the arms and have my space. Yes I loose time on flipping but I ensure no runs since I'm not using hvlp. And since I use a fast drying paint and vans it helps speed up the process. Also if you have not used breakthrough from PPG it's awesome try it.

    Sorry but i cant really understand why, first off, drilling holes im the cabinets would not be appreciated by my customers. second of all much more chance of runa painting the doors like that.
    I'll do a big kitchen in one day easy, that includes sanding, priming, sanding/filler and topcoat with drying on racks instead of hangers 🤷‍♂️
