    Pretty good video , judging from your comments of when you were 14 , we are about the same age. I am commenting for those that might watch this video, I'm doing the exact same thing to the same year truck. I just got a complete kit from Speedway Motors, which came with NO INSTRUCTIONS, they will hear about it. The kit comes with the same mid 70's F100-150 hub and rotors. In the kit you will also find 2 sleeves or bearing spacers and 2 extra outer bearing races. In the video I believe you mentioned the races but never heard mention of the spacers. After going back over the video I see you did put a spacer on the spindle before installing the hub and you had the extra races laying on the bench. From watching several other vlogs I learn about the spacer and extra races. The spacers should be heated to 400* F for about 15 minutes and they will slide on the spindle. The outer race in the new hubs needs to be removed and replaced with the extra races and outer bearings that come in the kit. The outer race in the new hubs does not properly fit the new bearings . This was about the only video I could find that actually showed doing this conversion on a 1949-57 F1 or F100. 👍👍👍 P.S. Love the old can of grease. I have few things like that I still use and swear by from back in the 60's. ❤️

    I ground off just enough metal from inside the bracket that i could fit the 90 degree fitting inside the bracket at the stock location on top.

    I found out i don't have to replace the race after i got it out so i put it back in.

    Very nice work. On this setup is there a need to change master cylinder?

      Daniel Higareda I am changing the master cylinder out for the second time. both are power brake boosted. Both fire wall mounted. The new one is from Mid Fifties F100. They have a number of units to choose from.

    Can you please list where you got the parts and what you used

      The conversion kit came from Mid Fifties F100s. The rotors, calipers, and brake pads I picked up locally at Phil's Auto to save on shipping charges. Mid Fifties F100s has complete kits that include everything if you prefer. Their on line catalog has a list of the parts necessary if you want to get those parts locally. The rotors are mid '70 Ford F100/F150. If you want to use a different bolt pattern, their are two other choices. The calipers are Chevy pickup. Check their on line catalog for a complete list.

      Calipers are Chevy pickup and the brackets came from Mid Fifties F100.

    You said you had to change the inside race. What was the reason for that ?

    • @AxelPowersGarage
      @AxelPowersGarage  Před 6 lety +1

      Rick Christensen The race had to be changed because the instructions said so. I imagine it is to ensure the race is a perfect match to the bearing.
