    Howdy Rich, Garden looks great!
    I am still getting a few tomatoes from my spring planting. But a few vines have nothing on them. Thought when I was out there this morning, it's time to pull those out and prep for fall tomatoes.
    My blackeyed peas are just about ready to start blooming 9 rows. So when they do start coming in, I will be picking and shelling every other day.
    Getting a few cherry tomatoes from some newer plants. Finally getting some Armenian cucumbers. Lol after I gave up on them and planted regular cucumber seeds. My jalapeños are making like crazy. I picked 2 1/2 lbs yesterday off 9 plants. Kajari melons coming off 2 or 3 a week, and cantaloupe looking good, blooming but no melons yet. Waiting for okra....plants look awesome, they just need to get with it.

    • @TheOldSwedesFarm
      @TheOldSwedesFarm  Před 2 lety +2

      Wow! Your garden is really producing! 2 1/2 lbs of jalapenos?! I'm sure we'll be having that soon. I've got 18 plants. It helps to have a couple families sharing in the produce! I need to look into Kajari Melons. I had never heard of them before this year. They look (and sound) great! Thanks for watching Gwen. I hope your garden continues to produce!! Cheers!

    Tie a string to the top of the lattice that you want the beans to climb. Then tie the other end loosely below a solid part of the bean plant so it lightly pulls it in towards the lattice. The plant will figure out the rest.

    Rich & Holly!! Great work!!! This looks amazing! I was laughing when you were tasting your cherry tomatoes, I could feel your excitement because I literally did the the same thing this week. Had my first taste! I thought of the saying "don't get high on your own supply" lol especially since you have a CSA! lucky customers! If you haven't already tried growing the "Chocolate Cherry Tomatoes", i highly recommend them, delicious! currently my favorite. Also, have you tried honeynut squash? I'm growing them for the first time this year. They are a smaller version of the butternut. Another squash I enjoy growing is delacata. And my non veggie eating husband will actually eat these squashes because roasted they are really sweet and reminiscent of a sweet potato. I really enjoyed your tour and how beautiful and healthy everything looks. Thanks for sharing! Take care.

      I would bet that elevation has everything to do with it. We also get 13+ hours of sun and your trees may limit the sunshine on the garden.
