If a Follow steps forward by default on 6 out of 6 steps of a count of Eight, creating an ongoing forward motion, it is easy for the Lead to add turns, left or right, all over the place, at the start of the Eight Count, in the middle of the Eight count and at the end of an eight count.
Turns are so to speak integrated seamlessly into the basic steps of Casino if it is based on natural walking. The three Coca-Cola turns in this tutorial is an example of what “stepping forward by default” makes possible. The three turns are not likely ever to happen in back-rocking Cuban Salsa where the Follow looses two steps at the start of Dile Que No.
    1. Dile Que No Mentira with Coca-Cola 270 degree into Rodeo
    2. Dile Que No Mentora with Coca-Cola 360 degree into Rodeo
    3. Dile Que No Mentira with Coca-Cola 360 degree into Caída
There are more than 20 Coca-Cola turns altogether and at least 10 in front of the Lead but the three Coca-Cola turns in front of the Lead in this tutorial requires a unique set of steps. The Follow is just walking forward according to the standard rules for the Follow: three step forward and another three step forward in the same, or, as in this case, in a new direction. But the Lead must make sure the the the Lead and the Follow travel in opposite directions in order for the Follow to get clear of the Lead.
For the Lead, the first part of Dile Que No Mentira is exactly like Dile Que No on “1-2-3”. On “5” the Lead steps back, also like DQN, but instead of continuing on a curved path to the right, the Lead walks forward again and more or less hits the footprints he just created in the first part of Dile Que No.
The first half of Dile Que No is so to speak cancelled by the second half. That is why the figure is called Dile Que No Mentira. This name isn’t perfect, there is no “tease” element as in other figures qualified with Mentira, but it is a good name because it makes sense and is easy to remember.
