This sounds like a great product. It's sold in a coil, so could be easily shipped. But the only two online retailers I found want more the $2/ft, which makes it about as expensive as the decking itself!
Hey man thanks for all the info you're putting out there. Quick question, how do you like Dexerdry compared to your typical bladder style drainage system? Pros and Cans of each and what's the deciding factor on which one to go with? Thanks!
Dr. Decks, I have been searching for reviews of Dexerdry and am not finding much other than the negative comment below from Martin. Could you please comment on your experience with this product and do you recommend it? I am planning to use Dexerdry parallel to my house with Azek/Timbertech but I have a finished wood ceiling below my deck so I want to make sure that Dexerdry will truly be waterproof.
@DrDecks Very little info on this product available online. Now that it has been a few years, how well has the product held up. Would you recommend it, or are you just showing us options?
I've used Duxxbak decking. The only exposed fasteners are the first and last board, everything else is hidden away from water. But I haven't used this. I would be afraid that the spline would fail over time, plus you have to face screw everything, which seems like a lot more places for failure.
@levelseven Do you have any review on Duxxbak? Looking at waterproofing (Duxxback, DexerDry even TI-Proboard) solutions to do a second floor deck with a room underneath.
@@johnwhite2576 Yes, it works great. A little more involved then just putting decking down. As long as installed/flashed correctly, then yes, it stays dry
@@paulesposito5939 Duxxbak works great 👍. It's a 2 for 1. A lot of clients, that want a dry space, don't want exposed framing underneath. So typically we'll deck it, then use a dry space system underneath, that locks into a gutter, like Magnolia or ? There are several different systems. Duxxbak is great, as long as installed/flashed correctly, against the house, around posts. It's easy to install. Only screw one side, which are hidden. Typically the joists are perpendicular to the house, sloped 1/8" per foot. Leave 1" overhang. Some clients want gutter. Dexerdry, I've never used. As long as the spleen doesn't fail. I've never used TI-Proboard. Duxxbak cons - - It is a hollow decking, which requires end caps. Doesn't affect the strength, super strong decking. More of a visual con. Doesn't look bad, - the trim/strips (if using) sit on top of the decking. Only 1/8". Unless you're sloping you deck 2 different ways, like a roof, then probably wouldn't use. I would recommend Duxxbak.
this product is a good idea but it does not work at al. i installted it in a 10X12 deck above another deck, and it leaks everywhere. I call this product "Dexerdrenched". Do not buy this product it is a waste of money. It is not cheap, my 10X12 cost me $900.00.

Have you had or heard of any problems with this product dry rotting over time from UV sunlight?

How does it hold up in the cold?
Would this be compatible with moisture shield decking?

What is the compressed gap between the boards?

Hello, Do Trex grooved decking board work on this product? Thank you bro!
I don’t think so. Contact Dexerdry for more info

I like this guy, but for God's sake, he needs to stop wearing that creepy durag.
