These gloves in stock form should be banned in boxing. The thinner, less padded, custom Maidana version was quickly rejected by the commission after Mayweather's objection. I'm not even sure how the commission let them slide that far in the first place.

@@Undeblfigh The refs in boxing allow holding and an amount of time for holding. When both boxers are tired they allow them to hold for an amount of time. Mayweather is aware of the holding time that is not legal but is allowed. As there is no time limit on how long refs allow boxers to hold and there is no specific amount of holding attempts allowed before you get a point taken. Mayweather intentionally holds as much as he can as he knows they take very few points away or none at all for holding. When you deduct his holding time/ non boxing time from his fights you see that he doesn't fight a 3 min round.
He uses a thicker hand wrap and wrapping that many times will have the effect of more solid material in your glove that is allowed but might not get noticed by the authorities. If a shot is on the belt he acts like he was hit below the belt and that can fool a ref or give a corrupt ref a chance to agree with him. There isn't an area of cheating he doesn't use. Backing up to the ropes and jumping and grabbing a fighter is not boxing, he does it to waste time so he doesn't have to fight 3 mins. The time/clock doesn't get stopped when the ref separates boxers. There are too many other ways he cheats for me to mention here.

If someone had stripped away a layer of padding from the interior of the glove, or they didn't have it to begin with, you wouldn't able to tell looking from the outside, you'd have to examine them properly yourself, which is why they do glove checks before any fight, to stop a repeat of the Luis Resto incident.
I don't know if manny had an injury before the fight or got it during, the only thing I know is there would of been no deference in the outcome. Professional boxing had specific rules of how much tape length and length of bandages is allowed, for wrapping a boxers hands.So if Freddy Roach seems to think the wraps are not regulation length.It absolutely needs to be checked, after all it’s why he is there in the first place to make sure the opponent hands are wrapped according to regulations. And yes professional boxers who particularly have issues with their hands, will try to use more hand wrapping than the regulations allow.Not saying that Floyd was knowingly trying to cheat here, but some boxers have been known to.
