Heracross did really well against Tobias' Darkrai as well. Don't think Sceptile could've taken it down if Heracross hadn't done a good amount of damage with that sleep talk Megahorn.
Joel Jacob Heracross also was used in Ash’s Battle Palace match.
Don't forget darkrai got a lot of it's hp back from dreameater
Both heracross and gible dealt super effective damage.
And dream eater only restores half HP for damage.
So giving whole credit to sceptile is total BS.

It could be a Croconaw that will end up in a sort of Charizard situation, where Ash gets it back, it is disobedient at first, evolves again in his possession, is still disobedient, and has an arc were he respects him again.

I love totodile's personality and I think its dancing is too cute, but if Ash said it was gonna evolve, it should have by now. Both it and Quilava could have evolved at the same time in Sinnoh, and then maybe offscreen like poipole did

Clearly Japan has a Decidueye problem. A Pokemon doesn't just have to b cute for it to get some love, marketing and popularity. I mean Charizard and Greninja aren't exactly cute but more cool and epic, and they became fan favorites. Decidueye's also loved by many, including me
Maybe if Japan found Decidueye just as marketable they'd have let Ash get one. Then his whole Alola team would b fully evolved. Just saying

Hawlucha is probably one of my favorite Pokemon of Ash's such a badass.
he doesn't evolve he has good move he live in kalos and he might have another chance to compete in galar league now

Ash's Krokodile is heavily underrated despite him being Ash's only undefeated pokemon since it's evolution.
Glalie never suffered a straight loss after evolving either. Only two ties, and one of them was Destiny Bond

@Señorita Pignite, not so much. Others, yes, good or bad. And I really recommend you to watch sword and shield anime. Scorbunny is basically Oshawott done right.
I think glalie should be on this list. It had personality and after it evolved it became a wrecking ball that either defeated or tied with any opponent it faced, including those it had a disadvantage.

@@eljordinio7647 many fans are also saying Incineroar is his ace as he beat strongest normal Pokemon in Alola, Pikachu beat the Legendary Pokemon Tapu Koko who is even more powerful, Mythical Pokemon Melmetal and UB Naganadel, all of this Pokemons win their matches without depending on 1 ace even Rowlet.
@@inamdaryasin Incineroar also didn't get to battle once after being fully evolved while while Lycanroc got one more fight in before the end of the series. Also Incineroar wasn't used in any of the grand trials while Lycanroc was used in two, both before and after evolving. We didn't even see Ash's Incineroar use its signature Z Move because they never bothered to give Ash an incinium z, whereas Lycanroc got to use his. Pikachu also did but Ash didn't get the z Chrystal for that permanently til after the league. Lycanroc could use his whenever he wanted
@@eljordinio7647 Incineroar had his own story and development outside trials, Incineroar after evolving fainted because if he stay than he would lose to Tapu Koko right after winning his most important match of his life, that will take away his triumphant moment.
@@inamdaryasin I know that, and like Zac said it was a good way for Incineroar to go out. If anything his evolution was a reward for winning. Tho Lycanroc had his own story too. He lived with kukui before meeting Ash and joined him to get stronger after learning a new move. He also got the Greninja treatment by getting a special form that only Ash had, and grew as a character too. While Lycanroc never lost a loved one to death like Incineroar did, he still would lose it every time his fur got messed up, which cost him two fights. Lycanroc eventually overcame this thanks to Tapu bulu's help and even held his own against it, learning stone edge in the process. Plus there was also the rivalry he shared with gladion's Lycanroc, which was the inspiration for wanting to get stronger and evolve (yeah the same could b argued for litten with Incineroar). And sure Incineroar fought his rival four times compared to Lycanroc fighting his 3 times (if torracat's time travel adventure doesn't count and they clashed twice in the exhibition match), but Lycanroc only lost to his rival once compared to Incineroar who lost twice. And come on u can't argue with the fact that the moment Lycanroc best his rival was also the moment that Ash won the league. While Incineroar beat his rival in the exhibition match, it wasn't the final battle of said match, so Lycanroc gets a few bonus points for where his win over his rival was placed

Lol. 2 Pokemon on this list aren't underrated: Krookodile and Heracross. Now, the one who truly is underrated is Glalie, since he doesn't get acknowledged as the MVP of the Hoenn League. Tauros is the same: Trashed Drakes Venusaur and went toe-to-toe with his Dragonite and even damaged him.
And Swellow, Hawlucha and Donphan are questionable choices for this list as well.
Heracross is definitely underrated, it's easily Ash's best Johto pokemon and helped carry him in those early Sinnoh League battles, but Swellow is definitely underrated. Like Zac said, Swellow really carried Ash through the Hoenn League because Grovyle, Torkoal and Corphish were trash during that league and Glalie didn't battle enough so other than Pikachu, it was really Swellow who'd always swoop with some bs double team/aerial ace combo lol

corphish is by FAR the most underrated, it had a lot of victories in gyms and league of hoenn, besides it defeated 2 pokemon of frontier brains (like swellow, sceptile and snorlax)
If ash wins the pokemon league that does means his pokemon journey is over he still needs to go through the elite four and he can loose to one of them and start another journey.

Pretty much most of Ash’s Johto team is underrated, particularly because in the Johto League Ash rotated his team for the various matches with Pokemon from Kanto and the Orange Islands. Many of Ash’s Pokemon get to display amazing feats in the leagues, but his Johto team didn’t much of a chance. Noctowl was not only Ash’s flying type in Johto, but it was also a shiny. Chikorita was fiercely loyal and protective of Ash, the primary motivator for why it evolved into Bayleaf. Phanpy was lucky that it got to join Ash for the Battle Frontier, where it showed it could kick ass and even evolved into Donphan, proceeding to kick more ass like Lucy’s Seviper. Totodile was a fun addition to Ash’s team because it liked to dance, as well as being one of the few, if only, Pokemon Ash caught using a non-standard Pokeball.

@@vronji ok he might not have taken out any of kukui's Pokemon but since the league win made Lycanroc the ace of the team, it makes sense for kukui to take him out so that Ash doesn't just rely on Lycanroc and gives his other mons a shot at the action
Plus Lycanroc did do some work on Incineroar before it went down at Ash's torracat/Incineroar's hands
Incineroar is the Alola ace it would be Rowlet or Decidueye if it evolved in my opinion

Rowlet was always sleeping. Although it had a great battle attitude, I don't think it ever trained enough to evolve IMO. The other Pokemons in Ash's Alolan team such as Litten/Torracat and Rockruff/Lycanrock were always training on the beach in their free time while Rowlet was always sleeping in the same time, no surprise to me that it didn't evolve while the others did.
@@ArsenalBowler that should have changed. Evolving could have fixed that and made it a LOT more serious in battle. Sure it was serious in battle most of the time but evolving would have let it time its naps better

One of Ash's Underrated Pokemon for me might be Glalie. I mean look at how he barely appeared during the Advanced Series and barely even participated during the Sinnoh League.
I don't think Sceptile ever overshadowed hoenn mons as they all treated equally, Sceptile never get plot armor boos like Pikachu, Charizard, Infernape, Ash-Greninja and Incineroar

Ash's Bulbasaur and Squirtle are underrated as well. In my own view, after Charizard and Pikachu, Bulbasaur and Squirtle are Ash's strongest pokemon. Remember, battle Frontier series. Ash defeated Brondon with these pokemons.
Yeah I also remember that Squirtle didn't get a motivational speech.

I know you review the leagues and those videos are incredible, but have you thought about taking emperor cubone's approach and doing an everything wrong with or the bad parts about each pokemon anime (by region). You can go over some of the weaker points and what was done well and what needed to be changed.
I think Quilava is way more underrated than Heracross, he help Ash so much during johto series and 1 match in Sinnoh league but Heracross who literally win only 2 official matches in WHOLE ANIME called Ash johto ace.

I really love Ash's Hawlucha it has a great personality. It is super passionate and flashy while battling just like Ash. Plus he took out a fucking mega absol, his revenge battle against weavile was just insane

I think pignite is the most underatead because it got over taken by krookodile and later charizard to for a fire type but pignite did really good in battles and even if it lost it always did something

Rowlet getting an everstone was so stupid!! If they let ash's Kalos team fully evolve they should have done the same for alola. I don't care how marketable rowlet is compared to its evos. Crippling an already lazy Pokemon from reaching their full potential, is just dumb.

A part of me wished that ash would evolve his rowlet into a decidueye because it had the potential to be as badass as greninja, chairzard and sceptile, if done correctly, but the other part of me was happy he didn't evolve rowlet because rowlet single handedly saved the first half of the alolan anime
Yeah he had so much potential to be a badass decidueye but nope the writers had to screw him over and keep him stuck as he was for no legit reason 😤
After XYZ they should never have reverted back to keeping anything of ash's unevolved

When hau first appeared, and a lot of people got annoyed cos Rowlet would likely never evolve, including me.
And yet now he's god despite not being fully evolved like his Alola teammates.

Nah. Swellow is definitely Ash's 2nd fastest pokemon after Pikachu, but other than that, it's pretty plain. Ash didn't teach it any really useful moves besides Aerial Ace. Talonflame and Staraptor have better anime wins, better movesets and have better development

I randomly really like Pignite. It was funny when he got those seeds up his nose and started acting all pensive. And his bromance with Charizard was pretty cool, too. Can’t remember if he had any memorable battles, but I do recall him being pretty strong.
