    Your videos are excellent! I watched several of them and had my exam this week and passed on first try. Although I was doing a “Umschreibung” there were several things very different from the exam I took in my home country.
    During my exam I faced several “unusual” situations but could perform well after studying with your videos.
    My technical questions were: “tell me everything you can about the wheels/tires”; “what are those lights on the back of the car ”
    The thing that I had the most difficult was on autobahn when I failed to see the sign with 120 or 130 km/h and I drove 80 for a longer time.
    Maybe it would be useful for other applicants to have some tips on this matter.
    Thank you again!

      Hi Maryn. It really depends. Some examiners drive 30min and some use hole time. But I think it's better to be prepared for the worst that you have the best chance of passing whoever might show up!

      I have to admit that I use an old Mac and Imovie. I tried Davinci Resovle, but my computer was not able to handle the amount of memory needed (and it looked very complex). I am currently waiting for the approval of a company loan to turn Fahrlingo into a driving school. If that goes through I can invest in a new Mac and software. Can you recommend an editing tool or hardware?

    At 5:58 a bus stops on the right side with its warning lights on. Doesn't this mean that student should have been driving at "walking speed" (less than 10 km/h) or am I wrong?

    isn't it a failure because on autobahn when the speed limited was 100 (13:36), he was driving 124 and when the limited was 80 when he joined the autobahn first time and he was driving 95 at that time (10:26)?
    I am confused, could you please elaborate?

  • @Kaylabaks
    @Kaylabaks Před 6 měsíci

    Hi Dario if one is about to join the autobahn or high way and vehicles from the left don't seem to give chance or change lane. Am i allowed to continue driving through the hard shoulder till i get a chance?

    • @fahrlingo
      @fahrlingo  Před 5 měsíci +1

      There are two answers to your question. 1) In exam and 2) real life. Checkout my video how to enter highway.
      1) In exam you have to follow the rules. And according to them you are not allowed to enter the hard shoulder in that situation. If you do you will fail. But even if you stop in front of it you will fail probably too for provoking a risky situation. The mistake was done before (for example speeding up to early en place to let a vehicle pass and than speed up to merge into the safety distance in between of the following car).
      2) However this can happen in a second of distraction while entering in real drivers life. It happened to me too. In real live i would use the hard shoulder in that situation as well. Obviously just if its free. Better and more safe than stoping at an entry lane! But keep in mind: in exam you will fail for it. But your life might be more precious than avoiding a fail at any price.
      Hope i could answer your question! All the best Dario

    • @fahrlingo
      @fahrlingo  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Hi. It is a good question and so much things happened that I could not explain it well in the video. There is a rule wich states that you have to drive outside villages and towns always on the most righten side to give others the opportunity to overtake you. Because you are just allowed to overtake turning one lane left. So keep in mind if you don’t overtake or if you have overtaken someone always return to the most righten side on highways.
      Now let us have a look on the highway boards and lines around your mentioned video situation.
      1. Check out the board some seconds before: czcams.com/video/jTiryBmA4Tw/video.html : You have 2 lanes according to the arrows on the board and lines on the road in your direction.
      2. Check out the next board some seconds later: czcams.com/video/jTiryBmA4Tw/video.html : You have now 3 lanes according to the arrows on the board and lines on the road in your direction.
      In between a new entry merged in and turned into a third lane. (That’s why the overtaking car made space one lane to the right) If you don’t take action after having passed more than around 150-200m and still stay in the middle you will faile due a wrong position on highway. I made a 10 min video regarding highway boards and lanes to teach the strategies to avoid such mistake. Check out the video: czcams.com/video/JDXTjbPIRbo/video.html&t
      Hope I could answer your question.
      All the best for your Exam!
      Dario

      @@fahrlingo Dear Dario, thank you for the explanation. Yes if I understand you correctly that one needs to be in the rightmost lane if not overtaking on an autobahn and thats why the driver rightfully crossed 2 lanes. Yeah I have already watched the other video that you had made about Autobahn, and I must say you make great content for the learners. thanks a lot :)

    Hi Dario,
    At 10:20 - 10:32 how should we adjust ourselves if we don't know the lane which goes to Wiesbaden? I understand that there are boards but the examiner told the direction after we entered the highway. Also, the distance to change lanes was very less.
    I am also considered what would happen if we had a lot of traffic coming at high speed? I mean in terms of changing two lanes within a short time and at high speed.

    • @fahrlingo
      @fahrlingo  Před 8 měsíci

      Hi @umangshah8971,
      Thanks for your question. Are you planning to take your exam in Frankfurt? I'm asking because that double entry is quite unique, and you are right; it is very difficult. That's why you will train in this specific area to be prepared. Every teacher knows his exam area and will prepare you for difficult spots like this. So, you will be able to make quick decisions. (That's why it's important to understand the examiner)
      Regarding your second question: Imagine the highway is highly crowded with no slot to merge, lots of trucks... Remember: If you are not able to turn this 2 lanes left, taking into account all the rules that have to be followed, in the desired direction... then it's better to ignore the indication and take an easier lane driving somewhere else. You will never fail for driving in a different direction, but you will fail if you commit a traffic rule violation or if you drive too riskily. However, if you're interested in how to merge safely onto the highway, check out this video I made some time ago. czcams.com/video/QzlT5gENi_s/video.html
      I hope I could answer your questions!
      All the best,
      Dario.

      @@fahrlingo Thank you very much Dario. You gave detailed answers and your videos are very helpful in the same way.
      I stay in Braunschweig and the reason I asked this question is because I am struggling at Highways. The first thing I don't understand is sometimes you have an acceleration lane and you have to merge and other times you can continue in the lane. If the acceleration lane is not long then I tend to Panic in looking left side (blind spot) and in the mirror and also looking the same simultaneously and when to switch.

    • @fahrlingo
      @fahrlingo  Před 8 měsíci

      Thank you very much for your kind words and your question! In my lessons, I often use paper drawings to explain the different types of merging scenarios to my students. This helps them recognize whether they need to change lanes or not. If you'd like, I can explain this to you in a short call. Please send me an email at dario@fahrlingo.com, and we can set up a time to go over this in detail. All the best Dario
