I love bilston , grew up here , went to school here , still live here , lots of friends here. Its changed a bit lately tho , not all for the best , my old school is now gone hall green (stonefield) a big housing estate by the old annexe down coseley rd , fields now gone , a dirty big road (black country route) cuts right through it, the high street is paved , all the banks are gone , charity shops replace the traditional shops , all the works such as sankeys , british steel etc are now gone and housing estates in their place , most of the pubs closed down , a supermarket taking most of trade from the town centre, the outside market on its knees , the main post office moved to wolvo , a tram stop with no access if the lift breaks down (regular) oaps and moms with prams cannot get down to the tram stop . Things that remain like majors chippy , the church , the bakery and the gents outfitters , the trumpet , greyhound and market tavern are pretty much all that is left of my dear old bilston
