  • Bilston Carnival procession 1964,
    Cine film footage showing the long procession with the carnival queen, the many floats , bands and collectors.
    If any one knows they are in the film or some one that they know please let me know.
    I wish to try and contact the son or family of Kenny Tonks who both appear on the film.
    The film was originally fillmed by the late Joe Smith of Bradley nr Bilston.

    Thanks for posting these videos. I was seven in 1964 and probably at both Bilston and Coseley Carnivals. They are a terrific piece of nostalgia for me.

    Wow its all true what my grandad told me Bilston was a nice place . Now its a Toilet with cafes and second hand shops I was tolsd there was even a m and s. Such a shame , nice vid thanks

    What we where sad to see the old town now but maybe one day a generation will have the time we boomers did.

    Hi Joe, The beginning is Wolverhampton Street leading onto High Street. then at 1:38 its High street between Thomson st and Hartshorn St. Then at 2:33 its Mount Pleasant leading onto Wellington rd.

    I also went to Stonefield.
    I was born in April 1964 i am actually in a pram in the audience at the procession

      Love it fella.I also went to Stonefield from 1965 to 1970. Big Jim. Jacko Wilkes,MrGill. Mr Hind And that awfull woman Miss Plumb kept us girls in line Looking back great days compared to these.
