    Hello. We’ve just enjoyed a great stay in Hua Hin. We loved every second and had no hassles with anything. Already planning to return. Just brilliant in every aspect. Cheers for your great channel.

    That's definitely a must visit location. My wife and I can have a mild lunch at our favorite sit down Chinese restaurant in the states and with water for a beverage it's still over $50 for lunch with the tip. It's nice to see you have friends from the states to visit.

      Yes having friends visit from the states is a bonus... and taking them out and not even thinking of the check is amazing!!!

    Thanks for the video, I bookmarked the restaurant for the next time I come to Hua Hin. If you like curry, I strongly advise you to visit Ken's Kitchen (around soi 70) and if you like Indian food, I advise Shiva (around soi 88), nice restaurant in a gorgeous garden.

    Thanks to yours and Kim's recommendation it is now our favorite place. We were in Hua Hua earlier this month and went there three times. We'll be moving there in June and we already can't wait to get back to this restaurant. Amazing food and prices. Wayne & Jayme

    Oh God everything looks amazing there and cheap; may be we'll reconsider to be retired at Khao Lak (ok beaches are nicer...). We have friends at Prachuap, so why not?!

      Hua Hin has a lot of everything... but not too much of anything if that makes sense. Beaches are good in spots, but not like the amazing white sand beaches in other areas.

    When you order somtom Thai it does not include the famous Issan region fermented fish sauce plala which my wife first described to me as “fish dead long time” . It may be an acquired taste but also depends on who made it. 😊

    • @AlmostRetiredinThailand
      @AlmostRetiredinThailand  Před 2 měsíci

      I did not love the plala version, but Ying is from Roi Et and prefers it. I prefer SamTam Thai :)

    Fell in love with your new house If possible could you please direct me to a good place to start my search.The websites iv'e looked at so far show properties that are either over elaborate ,frequently refurbs or mainly featuring flats/condo's. Around Hua Hin is where i'm looking.Many thanks.

      This is a good question... we did a lot of looking on real estate websites like Lazudi... then joined lots of Hua Hin area real estate Facebook groups... and did some driving around. Real estate is different in Thailand than in the US... There is no Multiple Listing System, so lots of agents market the same property. Connecting with a good agent is advised and here is one - The REALTOR would be Andy Dyett - with Hua Hin Property -

      email - andy@huahinpropertyagent.com
      -- he has been there for a very long time, owns his company with his Thai wife and is also the best source of information....

    Hey mate my wife and i are coming to Hua Hin in march next year, have you any recommendations for any good hotels

    • @AlmostRetiredinThailand
      @AlmostRetiredinThailand  Před 2 měsíci +1

      My suggestion would be to start on Agoda... search by price range and location. My guess is you will want to stay somewhat close to the center, as most things are within walking distance. Once you have price and area, you can start looking at pics and reviews. I am found Agoda to be pretty good with providing great info - we have never been let down - and they have a best price guarantee - oh ya, and we always add "breakfast included" to our criteria - www.agoda.com/partners/partnersearch.aspx?pcs=1&cid=1766319&city=17019

      If you're only looking for a comfy, friendly place not too expensive, we stayed in "A Villa" next to villa market - tell them Suzanne (from England) sent you.😊
      Couldn't recommend highly enough and a VERY reasonable price. Looked like it would be close to the noisy road but was very quiet. Stayed there 5 nights and didn't want to leave the comfy bed! You can flag down a bhat bus outside for a 5minute ride to town for a small charge, or the hotel will book you a bike to rent for 250 baht per day, interesting streets, temples etc to explore around the hotel.
      Have a great time!

      The Marriott was magnificent. What a breakfast! Set us back about AUD $240 a night including breakfast. Big room. Heavenly.
