Phantom 3 Standard Camera Gimbal Misalignment and Motor Overload FIXED!

- Yesterday, I reported this gimbal motor overload problem hoping for someone out there to help me fix this trouble but while waiting for answers I came across some youtube videos that showed some hints on how to solve this. Thanks to iRepairMD's video about Phantom 3 Gimbal Repair from Start to Finish I was able to learn that my problem was actually caused by the gimbal motor misalignment.

Thanks for sharing this, my drone was collecting dust already due issues with gimbal, and other fixes online did not help me to solve it. Tried out this one - and it works. It is not perfect yet, but I guess I need to do now full calibration and then maybe retry to adjust this axis.

Unit was crashed and broke the roll motor ring that holds it to the motor. Ripped cable in two. Replaced cable, then it
would not align. Did this and also IMU calibrate and adjust roll a bit and it works.

I'm glad that you didn't glue as I've seen in another video. This way you'll need to realign the next time you have a minor hot. I'm thinking glueing things make it easier to break. Alignment is better than repair

Could this same fix be used on the yaw axis control board to fix camera pointing slightly left of center?
It fixes my problem but I have to do this almost every time I fly. Is there any reason why it gets misaligned? When flying it's perfect, I can move the camera up and down without issues. The footage is stabilized also. Could it be that the gimbal roams freely in the drone backpack?

Thanks you, great vid... I did it and it's working... but I noted the camera doesn't focus to front totally, it is around 20° to left. how can I fix it? I used auto calibration from app.

I've already unscrewed the screws and taken aPart the electronic circuit board. Doing the pliers part tomorrow! Hoping for the best, since its had the gimbal motor overload error since coming out of the box on Christmas (the day after it, actually) and this drone is pointless to me unless I can take video with it!! (AKA can't even move gimbal, takes video fine)

Can this be done with the pitch axis aswell? I have a problem where the pitch axis stop working a few minutes into flight. Do you have any suggestions?

I crashed my PH3 STD today and now I am getting the same error message and the gimbal is going a little crazy. Will this help? What does adjusting that back bolt do for the gimbal? Thanks !

would you know how to fix a failed firmware update on a phantom 3, all it does now it the gimbal spins and twists but drone wont start.
Hi, i have this same issue..the component on mine is only very slightly off.. but it can not be moved no matter how much pressure i apply.. any ideas of why that is? Is it supposed to be able to move freely?

Ok so the problem came back a 2nd time and I did the exact same thing to fix it, but this time the "fix" caused the gimbal to go crazy and is now worse than before. I tried fixing it about 4 times tonight and all had the same results -- gimbal out of control. Any ideas?

It misaligned after a crash which also broke the epoxy bond that secures the shaft in place you can tweak it back with pliers but it's not bonded with epoxy anymore so it's going to move and you're going to keep repeating the same step you have to pull the motor apply epoxy and reassemble

adjust the component shown on video. :)
There should be a setting for it in the settings.
TheViewCrew - That only adjusts it for each flight, doesn't save.
