Thank you. It worked perfectly and was easy. I bought my Phantom 3 cheap because of the camera missalignment. Neither seller or I knew that it was so easy to fix.
I can only tell you, Great! ... I thought about it, but I did not dare until I saw your video ... I bought a secondhand advance and after calibrating the gimbal when I went to restart the drone it fell back down. Amazing tip! Reattached my camera on my P3S with a new ribbon but the gimbal was going haywire. This solved it and now it levels just right.

I had to try this several times before it eliminated the crazy dance. Alignment is very sensitive and must be perfect. even a 1/16" off wont work. Works now!!!

So what happens if all the axles are aligned and screws tightened? Fun part is that my problems started after a nasty crash but it's all aligned anyway. I didn't have to correct a thing. It still starts tilted and keeps rolling to the right.
I'm having this issue but I noticed gnat flat part on the shaft is only out of line the slightest amount. Would that still be the issue? I didn't crash mine it just popped up this morning. Thank you.

is this method can fix also the unbalanced horizon in the video? , everytime i make yaw the horizon level is suddenly not levelled.. can this adjustment help or fix the issue?

No grub screw to tighten somewhere? To avoid the problem reappearing again ?

I have an issue after an accident the Flexible Gimbal Flat Ribbon Flex Cable broke and I ordered a new one and installed it once I install it camera because craze as it in your Video . I tried to do as you did no luck same issue I ordered a new Gimbal Roll Arm & Motor . I installed them but same issue camera is very crazy please let me know if you can help

Hola necesito ayuda ... Le cambie el flex a mi dji 3 prof. Pero me dice no imagen o q es debil ... Con el flex nuevo ... Cambie y compre otro y me dice lo mismo. Saque el brazo con camara y flex de otro dji 3 y anda perfecto. Puede ser q 2 flex este fallados? La placa de la camara la saque y la probe parte y anda

Awesome, video, thanks man, however, after I did the rotation adjustment, now it won't even try to calibrate, it will just sit there until eventually the overload message come back,and the right hand side gimbal motor is super fry and egg on it kinda hot. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Mine did same. After adjusting the gimble 180 degrees and then back 90 degrees it worked.

Clint, in the last few seconds you talk about "when I took this off and stuck it back on"... In a frantic mess after mine dropped I popped mine back on trying to help. Since then I was unable to "stick it back on". What am I missing? How do you pry your pieces apart even after that little screw is removed? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Mine just kinda snapped on, kinda magnetic I think. It was so long ago, I can't fully remember, but on mine didn't even close all the way perfectly shut when it "snapped it back on". You can see the little gap. I'm not sure how that piece is supposed to stay on there. It just kinda snapped back into place.

i did it it sux anyway, always came back with same problem till i put some super bonder glue on it all. now it sends this overload message but still flyes and record. think its kinda solved but gimbal is not moving anymore due to the glue dji made a shitty fragile gimbal

It’s been over a year now, and I came back to this video. After I align that thing and turn my drone on, it starts up perfectly fine. But after I turn it off and on again every time it gets worse and worse and I keep having to realign it. You have any solutions?

Hi, just curious, obviously you are turning the shaft but do you happen to know if the shaft is turning inside some sort of clamp or if the shaft is turning something else inside, at a guess, the gimbal arm?

@@Team.Louish It seems there might be a "magnetic sensor ring" on the shaft, it interacts with a sensor on the board. The ring might be glued to the shaft, twisting this ring wrt the shaft changes the 'rest' position of the shaft and therefore the gimbal wrt the board. Acetone might be a solvent for the glue. The ring is apparently very fragile so needs to be handled with GREAT care. As it is magnetic I am not sure whether it is a good idea to use steel etc. tools to move the sensor ring. There are a number of threads about this sensor ring on the phantompilots forum e.g. phantompilots.com/threads/p3p-camera-off-center.118727/

You might have two pins on the ribbon touching. Check the ribbon cable going to your camera and make sure its seated perfect and not damaged.
After repair, the roll is still not level. (The flat part of the spindle IS parallel with the camera.) All help appreciated. The problem is shown on the video: czcams.com/video/a-gwEEiYvxU/video.html

To anyone here..is it possible to put a GoPro gimbal on a phantom 3 standard to replace the original gimbal?
It would easily support the weight. I don't see why you couldn't.mount something like a gopro session gimbal on there, but I don't know how you would control where its pointing. There might even be a gimbal made specifically for the phantom 3 standard, but if not, there are a lot of gimbals out there that hold sessions or heros that are meant for drones. If you absolutely needed the ability to control the gimbal, you'd probably have to install a separate radio transmitter just for the new gimbal. But if you just wanted the camera facing forward and down slightly, you could position the camera before flight and then not need to control it at all.

The GoPro gimbal I had actually ordered has a remote for positioning side/side, up/down and even an app which I haven't received to explore yet..
I also have an existing hero 5 stationed under the back of battery of my phantom for continuous video instead of continuously positioning the quadcopter which is perfect...I had actually lost the camera only on my phantom, the gimbal and arm itself is perfectly fine..so now I'm thinking on putting my hero 3 with this new one because the video is way sharper than the original camera.

Keep in mind with your gimbal remote that you have, chances are that is a very short range remote. If you're flying anywhere far, you won't be able to use your included gimbal remote.

Considering I'm mainly using this phantom 3 for filming boating and quad'n trips, hopefully it'll do the trick with the new one... it'll be interesting to see it's limits of distance before no signal that's for sure..I might have to get a buddy to modify it.
