Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on CZcams, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on CZcams. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on CZcams, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

Bette Midlers song “The Wind Beneath My Wings” is really powerful/emotional/beautiful!!
It will touch you!!
From a Distance is epic as well.
There are dozens of examples of her singing this song for decades. It matters not which one you pick because she always sings flawlessly.
The Rose was a biopic about Janis Joplin. Check out the vintage style video, from this film, "Stay With Me".
Well, a Janis Joplin-esque character.
This song in the final song played before the credits. The main character, The Rose, as she is known, died in stage during a concert performance from pills and alcohol, which is why you hear the screaming. It's a very sad and tender moment in the movie, but a powerful one at that. Great soundtrack, great performances, a really great movie
Still one of my all time favorite movies and her performance in it was unbelievable.
Midler released her debut album, The Divine Miss M, on Atlantic Records in December 1972. The album was co-produced by Barry Manilow, who was Bette's arranger and music conductor at the time. It reached Billboard's Top 10 and became a million-selling Platinum-certified album, earning Midler the 1973 Grammy Award for Best New Artist. She was in the chorus for the song We Are the World live aide.
Bette Midler:
1. The Wind Beneath My Wings ( from her movie Beaches)
2. Do You Wanna Dance
3. From A Distance
4. Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy
You picked a perfect version of The Rose!!🌹
There are actors who sing, and singers who act. I think of Bette Midler as the latter.
As others have said this is from the movie loosely about Janis Joplin. It is well worth watching. I'll just say that this song gets to you after the movie.
This is a beautiful song! "Try Wind Beneath My Wings," and for fun, she does an amazing cover of "Under the Boardwalk."
For years one of Bettes back up singers was Katey Segal (Married with Children/Sons on anarchy).
Katey Segal was also a backup singer for Dylan for a little while.
Early in Bette’s career while she was playing small clubs and bathhouses (no exaggeration) in NYC her accompanist/piano player was Barry Manilow - before either of them became famous and successful.
Check out her 1972 jam - Do You Want To Dance?
The thing about Bette Midler is she can sing any kind of music. Any genre. And always great.
This song makes me blubber like a baby every time I hear it. I saw this movie so many times, in the cinema. It was from her first movie but I knew Bettle Midler for a decade as both a singer and a comedian. She did a lot of very funny interviews with Michael Parkinson for the BBC, in the 70`s, which are on You Tube .
The power of simplicity in instrumentation, beautiful vocals that deliver on an emotional level, and a powerful lyrics = perfect song.
Bette was know for her singing before her acting which she is great at both.
I really, really enjoy listening to music with you. Thank you so much for making these videos.
Who was Johnny Carson last guess . Watch Bette Sing " One More For MY Baby" Bette Midler. It was very touching.
Beautiful Voice!!!!💕
Wind Beneath My Wings and From a Distance are both great
Amazing song and movie. The movie is inspired by Janis Joplins life if I remember correct.
70 year old Swiftie here. This is one of my all time favorite movies and song 🥰💞. Definitely worth a watch.
I highly recommend you to react to her singing "Stay with me" (vintage style video). It's from "The Rose" too and it's astonishing. Performance of a lifetime !
Bette is also a great actress. Check her out in "For the Boys".
You need to see her live performance from that movie of STAY WITH ME. Seriously. Wanna see you see it.
Bette's songs are either tender and sacred or brassy and bawdy - always exceptional
Congrats on listening to music and not wasting time on TV and movies. Roses to you.
Not all the movies and Tv series are a wasted of time, we just need to saw the good things
Love this song and yes listen to Wind Beneath My Wings
You stated facts, I broke up with my wife a few years ago and this one is like a punch in the feels.
Bette's song Dr Longjohn is her crowning achievement.
Brilliant!
❤I love this song. I sing it at karaoke once in a while, for my sister, and i hope she hears it up in heaven❤❤❤
You should hear her sing The Wind Beneath My Wings.
Always tears
There's never enough reacting to The Rose. ♡
You should watch her performance of Stay With Me from movie The Rose she sings with all her soul and might its incredible.
About the best song she ever did, love this song a day she is phenomenal!
If you don't check out the film, still check out the rest of the soundtrack. It's awesome.
She started out as a singer performing in the gay baths in New York City. Barry Manilow at one point was her pianist and musical arranger.
If you get a chance, check out one of her concert video fron the late 70's or early 80's. The character Delores Delgado the Toast of Chicago is a real hoot, with a wheelchair ballet. FYI, Katy Sagal (Peg Bundy) was one her backup singers for a time.
This song helped me through Many Hard Winters! 💔 🌹
Bette is a fantastic Diva. Among the very best!
Love this song
i love this song and for darn sure love the movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the song she is most known for.
Reminds me of my dad, who passed away in Jan. This is one of many he sang. On a very different note, maybe dig Mudhoney's cover of this. They are so noisy, it's hard to tell it's the same song.
❤❤❤❤❤
You should checkout the movie….well worth a watch. Cheers
This is a beautiful song, wonderfully sung but it is atypical of most of the music in the film. The picture is a rom a clef of Janis Joplin so most of the music is more rock oriented. There is a great video out there of Bette performing "Stay with Me" which she tears apart and pours her guts into. Very much worth checking out.
I saw the movie, it was really good. I believe she was playing some of the life of Janis Joplin…good song! 🥰🌹
Oh, you must check out her version of WIND BENEATH MY WINGS
❤
Hey Shawn, I've been watching your reactions for some time now. I most closely enjoy/identify with your selection of videos. You've been great, and the most authentic reactor. Honest and with integrity. Some aren't that way. Guys you seem like they are having a heart attack over a great singing voice, or girls who are doing a fashion show, are not my thing. Keep up the great reactions and wish you success!
I have something to ask of you. I'm 66, retired, living in Mexico. I'm music lover. No talent myself. I have a lot of free time on my hands. I thought that I might have some fun, doing a channel of my own. Similar music, possibly some more obscure tarcks from many of the artists you react to. A twist. I'm not reacting for the first time. I've heard the songs, dozens if not hundreds of times. But at 66 years of age, the songs have a different meaning and perspective for me. I watched the Beatles when they first appeared on Ed Sullivan. The Doors too. I remember the first few days that a band by the name of Boston or Journey came on the radio. When CSN played "Ohio" for the first time. The student deaths at Kent State happened just a few months before. How I felt. How my friends felt. I have an "I was there." perspective. My perspective also comes from growing up In L.A.. Friends and family who saw Elton John when he was the new guy at The Troubador. Johnny Rivers at The Whiskey. Numerous more who had not yet made national attention. I saw an unknown band, the first few days into their first U.S. tour. Supertramp. I had friends who surfed with Jackson Browne whikle he was doing free concerts at UCLA. We went to Madame Wongs Club and saw The Police, The Motels, Ramones, Guns and Roses, before they mad it big. I have lots of stories and unique perspectives, that I think it would be fun to share, and of interest to people. And of how it was all different then. Being underage and getting into the Sunset Strip Clubs, spending a full night sleeping on the street in line for concert tickets, an accidental lunch with Cher, going to a party in Laurel Canyon. Joni, James, Frank, and Alice are sitting around talking and paying a few tunes? Ya. That and much more was growing up there. I'd love to share those stories and realted music. But I am really struggling with getting started on CZcams, copyrightss, programs and apps needed, etc. How did you do it? What does it require? I can't seem to get straight answers, I'm not looking to monetize any of this. It would just be a hobby for me. I've looked to pay a freelancer for help, but so far the only help (sort of) is a guy from India, who while he is fluent in English, I jusyt can't get across what I am tryng to do. Can you? Are you interested in helping me? Thanks so much roger.dekeyzer@yahoo.com
Hey there, Roger. Creating a channel requires a lot of watching tutorial videos on how to do everything. There really is no quick guide on start-up to posting videos. There is recording software, editing (video and photo), uploading, and like you mentioned, learning how to deal with copyright. I could offer some advice, but ultimately its going to be about how bad you want to do it and how much time you are willing to commit to learn the steps. Your videos don't need to start off perfectly, you just need to start. I could let you know some of the software and equipment I use, but I wouldn't be able to dedicate the time it would take to teach everything about the work it takes to create a video. There are, however, tons of amazing tutorial videos on exactly how to create and upload a CZcams video. Let me know if you would like to at least know which programs I use and/or camera etcetera.
@@ShawnSalvadoriwhat a lovely, gracious and honestly helpful response 😊
Beautiful song.
Saw the movie when it came out.
You should react to the movie, she sings alot of great songs in it. This is supposedly based on the life of Janis Joplin, she does an excellent job in the movie. It's entertaining.
Beast of burden with Mick Jagger from the Rolling Stones, going to the chapel. A lot of her career was spent on dirty ditties which you-tube would probably not play, hilarious anyway. First Wives Club, 9 to 5, Beaches, just some of her great movies.
React to her songs Wind Beneath My Wings and From A Distance please.
#janisjoplinforever
I would say that the movie is worth watching with your wife.
Shawn, Janis Joplin did this song Also!
Bette Midlers song “The Wind Beneath My Wings” is really powerful/emotional/beautiful!!
