298 was supposed to be temporarily converted into a townlink service before being amended into TAM North, and reverted back to feeder.
That original plan was shelved because it was more worth it to hurry with TAM North Int construction rather than amend 298 in 2 stages.
After reverting back to feeder, 298 was also initially supposed to just follow 129's route into TAM North.
Ever since they backed out from the original plans, they decided to amend it via St 62 both directions last minute. Hence it was so rushed.
(That townlink looped via St 62 counter clockwise but there were no plans for bus stops along St 62 at that time)

Tampines North Housing Estate Can function like a Separate New Housing estate, just like Its Western Counterpart, Buangkok Estate.
Tampines North Estate if Completely built, is about 1000 hectares including the Logistic Industries and will be bigger than Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR Largest Housing Estate, Tuen Mun.

the 298 amendment is kind of pathetic for Tamp North, although I guess the other sections are served by 18/46/68/127. And naturally it not serving the main interchange kinda sucks, a little like 268 in AMK. the fact no new bus service has been added for Tampines North and all it has been so far are just bus amendments is troubling. Tamp North currently only has access to bus services with a frequency (on paper) of 10 minutes or more, and within Tamp North itself connectivity is reliant on 18 or 46 to get around. The initial prospects aren't great even with the new bus "interchange" that won't have an MRT until 2030, and a mess of bus services that provide low frequency service to the rest of tampines. Having to funnel any buses heading to the town centre through Tampines Concourse could also end up really bad in the future. It's not like 15, 27 and 168 are routed down Tampines Concourse to serve the main hub

It's kinda a long-winded video just to say "The bus stops are not ready".
Tampines Concourse and Tampines North interchanges seem very under-utilised. Are there plans to add further services to them?

Why the text to speech sounds weird and got accent? 🤔😂

The Feeder Bus Service 298 should link between Tampines North Estate and Tampines Concourse Bus Terminal.

it does do that, but also Tamp Concourse is useless as a bus interchange, only 39 operates out of there. Honestly for an interchange that is supposed to be an extension of the main interchange the infrastructure for it is really inaccessible, and the bus stops for 129 and 298 (and previously 18) outside Tamp Interchange need quite a lot of walking to because of a drain... really wasn't ever that great. If you want to go to Tamp int on 129 and 298 you'd more likely get off on Tamp Ave 4

298 was originally introduced for the residents of the other parts of tampines and not tampines north (the west side of tampines).
it would be pretty unreasonable for residents in this area to get their bus service cut off and definitely face a plenty of opposition until the MP manages to make LTA "undo" the changes by one way or another.
on top of that, tampines concourse interchange is temporary in nature, so 39 will likely amend out in the future, allowing tampines concourse interchange to close its doors.

      Yes and Definitely agreed.
I can Suggest that it IS POSSIBLE for Tampines Bus 🚌 Interchange Station to be redevelope into an Integrated Transport hub (ITH) such as Bedok, Boon lay, Bukit Panjang, Woodlands and Yishun.
The Pasir Ris Mall will become an ITH that is still under Construction and the Current Pasir Ris Bus 🚌Interchange Station will relocate to Pasir Ris Mall.

The Tampines Temporary Bus 🚌 Interchange Station can be built on the Huge Grass Field, Infront of the Current Interchange and next to Tampines Concourse Bus 🚌 Terminal.

@@Wongwanchungwongjumbo Can't say I'm a big fan of ITHs personally (with the exception of like WITH and maybe Boon Lay alot of the other ITHs have some kind of problem, the worst being the lack of space at Sengkang, Serangoon, Bukit Panjang). Don't really see the point also I guess? The tamp central area is already so sprawling with retail and given that tamp north is gonna be BTO filled idt there's a need to build another residential in tamp central. Plus Tamp Interchange is gonna be very hard to replace with a temporary interchange, it's so big and already there isn't enough space for all the bus services. I doubt a temp interchange would work out even with Tamp Concourse absorbing 2 or 3 services. Bidadari ITH admittedly has potential, but idk I kinda feel like if it's not broken then don't fix it
