My name is Niki. I am a former high school chemistry & biology public school teacher turned homeschool mom of 4 kiddos. We are a secular homeschooling family, with a laid back schooling style. I'm a busy WAHM who just tries to stay afloat some days. But we would never change a thing!
I would love to get to know you better down in the comments, and I hope you'll stay awhile and chat ❤️

Especially after doing the Preschool at Home book, the first unit of level K is a lot of repetition. We acquired the Facts that Stick series by Kate Snow for extra practice. I also purchased one of the IXL textbooks for additional worksheet-type learnng from Amazon. We found games that were addition and subtraction focused and once a week supplement math with a game. My kiddo also likes Adaptive Mind and Khan academy that have math-centered learning.
I love Math with Confidence, but some of us have kiddos that just want to keep going and need a bigger workbook! So hopefully some of these suggestions help mama.

There is! I have not tried it yet though.
I almost got the pdf version, but I ended up getting these as "damaged" from Rainbow Resources so they were so cheap I couldn't pass them up. Otherwise you know I love me some PDF. LOL

My second grader is doing MWC level 2 and for each lesson she has 1 page front and back (so technically 2 pages) of practice. I can’t speak on level 1 because we haven’t tried it yet but it seems that gradually, the amount of practice work does increase. I do agree, though, that level K doesn’t have enough practice. My kindergartner always wants to do more too lol

That is good to know! Thank you for sharing. We still love it. We are just using Math U See for extra practice right now.

I wonder if the Facts that Stick series (Addition Facts that Stick, etc.), also by Kate Snow, would be a good supplement? I haven't used MWC, so I don't know how they compare, but Addition Facts and Subtraction Facts use the 10 frame to reinforce skills, and there is a game and a practice page for each day.

I'm going to pick it up and see. I've never used it before, so I don't know if he is ready for it or not. Ten frame really isn't clicking for him, so we are try some other approaches right now. Thanks for advice!

Are the addition facts not sticking or the actual concept of adding? More teaching of the concept will be needed, if that's the case. Not just extra math problems. ❤
During Kindergarten MWC I made his own 'quizzes' with simple equations (because he wanted them) for more extra practice.

I was referring to the earlier pages when I was wanting more practice sheets. Things like symmetry, patterns, shapes, etc. He was moving faster through the book than I wanted him to with the actual concepts. We are still working on the concept of adding which is why we are taking a small break. We are trying out different approaches right now to see which one makes it click. Thanks for watching!

Would you recommend this program for older grades?

Thanks! We are coming from good/beautiful math and while it's nice I feel moves too slow. This looks like it moves a little faster as in what is being taught. Not 100%

@@jessicawhitman7695 we also switched from the TGTB math. When we started mwc level 2 there was a bit of review but the way the lessons are broken down and taught, I personally feel like it sticks more.
