- After putting his first tag on a nice buck a couple weeks ago, Justin is back in the saddle! (Literally) He's on a quick run-n-gun hunt in Illinois, and is in search for one of two mature bucks in the area. While in the stand, he gets cell cam pics of a shooter about a half-mile away. Low and behold, that buck ends up making his way towards Justin, and the rest is history!

What a beautiful buck, congratulations, and how it all unfolded was just amazing, getting him on your trail camera 800yds. away and getting little glances of him until he worked his way all the way to your tree, awesome.
Congrats Justin on a great mature buck and an awesome end to a great season for you and Joey! That was truly one of my favorite hunts so far from this season!! The commentary, from when you said you got a cell picture of the buck at your other stand, to his travels along the creek and through the thicket. And to think it was all done in a saddle with great pre-shot work to get yourself in a good shooting position well before the shot presented itself. And to self film it all, truly amazing. You guys have inspired me to get back into bowhunting and to start my journey into self filming my hunts!! BTW, I watched this hunt at 1pm (Atlantic Time), just 3 hours before I get up on the last day of the season here in NB, Canada, as I try and shoot my own buck!! Gionna be hard to sleep now. :)

I watched the heat wave video last weekend. I agree that when its on its on no matter what. I sat in a tree stand in Nebraska the last evening of the heat wave at 68 deg, and only saw 3 deer no shooters. the next morning it was cold with ice rain and very very nasty. 11:00 am the rain stopped and got colder, as a huge 160 class buck came into 25 yds after a few doe bleats. it was worth punching my tag the 1st full day of my 2 week hunt. great buck for you to close out your season, as my deer season was also over on 11- 09-20. now for some serious wolf hunting back home in Idaho.
I'm not sure if my favorite part is you smoking a giant, or watching you go tracking with your kids. It almost looks like he was covered up by a bobcat the way he was covered with all that grass.

Other than coming home to meet him after a deployment today was one of the best Days of my life! Y’all keep it up and we’ll bow hunt or die down here in west Texas!

Amazing shot and great deer. Love your videos. Might not make me popular but I would toss those broadheads and find a fixed blade you like because with that shot your arrow should have been in the ground 10" deep. No way should that arrow have slowed up. This year I switched to a 150gr Cutthroat single bevel. Used montec g5 for years and loved them.

Yep - that was a Tethrd Phantom saddle. That was my first sit in that particular one. I've also been trying out the Hawk Helium and the AeroHunter Merlin. Trying to figure out which one I like the best still.

A deer can last an hour or two after getting shot, no problem.
