Totally agree. I have seen many videos and performances of techno groups and I have always missed someone who could dance in a spectacular way. One of those few are Gabi Delgado, Roland Orzabal in the Mad World video, Andy McCluskey with his bass guitar in Messages in 1985 concert. Of course the great Dave Gaham from Depeche Mode has always been quite the specula on stage. But for me Roland Orzabal in Mad World is the best I've seen.

It was analogue cassette decks, DAT only appeared some years later, in 1987 or so. Of course nowadays sequencers and synthesizers are programmable, so that one can play these sequences in real time on stage without using any recordings.

The thing that i find incredible with D.A.F its the impact their music had on the industry. I mean they were streets ahead in term of electronic music. If you listened to some ZZT, Boys Noize, Schwefegelb or Gesaffelstein you can truly see the patern
despite of being from a different time and genre the 'sleaford mods' actually are the only band I know which comes close to DAF's energy and live impact. it's not just because they have a similar set-up. both bands' lyrics are hammering while the music is moving your body.
