  • Welcome back to Melton's on the Move! In today's mouthwatering episode, join us, Laura, and Michael as we take you on a culinary journey through Chicago's most iconic eateries: The Wiener's Circle, Johnnie's Beef, and Giordano's. We're diving deep into the flavors that define Chicago's vibrant food scene, from char dogs and cheddar fries to legendary Italian beef and classic deep-dish pizza.
First, we head to The Wiener's Circle in Lincoln Park, located at 2622 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60614. This local institution has been serving up its signature blend of Char Dogs, Cheddar Fries, and playful verbal banter for 40 years. Known for its lively and sometimes rowdy atmosphere, The Wiener's Circle recently added a bar, allowing you to grab a beer while waiting for your delicious char dog. We'll share our first impressions, the vibrant energy of the place, and, of course, our taste test of their famous offerings.
Next, we journey to Elmwood Park to visit Johnnie's Beef, an unassuming yet legendary spot revered as the Mecca of Italian Beef. Situated in a modest, one-story building with a 1960s aesthetic, Johnnie's Beef is known for its incredibly flavorful Italian beef sandwiches and its efficient, rapid-fire service. We'll walk you through the experience of ordering like a pro and savoring the rich, marinated beef, sweet peppers, giardiniera, and crispy fries.
Our final taste test is with Giordano's, where we indulge in their famous deep-dish pizza. With a 40-year reputation for outstanding artisanal deep-dish pie, Giordano's is a must-visit for anyone in Chicago. Located conveniently near Rosemont/O’Hare, it's the perfect spot for travelers and locals alike. We'll delve into the meticulous craftsmanship that goes into each pizza, featuring the cheesiest mozzarella, ripest vegetables, and most flavorful meats, all baked to perfection in a flaky, pie-like crust. We'll try their Chicago Classic Deep-Dish Pizza.
This adventure is perfect for food lovers and families looking to explore the best of Chicago's culinary scene. Don't forget to like, subscribe, and hit the bell for more delicious adventures. You know what we do, Film eat repeat; let's go find something tasty to eat.

Good to know. We have also been told by a local that deep dish is not what the locals like to eat as far as pizza goes. What are your thoughts on that statement they made?

@@meltonsonthemove I’m Chicago born and raised… Been eating deep dish along with thin crust for over 50 years - We have had deep dish spots since the 40’s and I guarantee that it isn’t tourists that have made that style flourish. Pizza “tourism” didn’t exist before the internet…

@@cito4633 Thanks for the response and letting us know. We wholeheartedly believe in asking as many locals as possible to get to know an areas culture. Thanks for watching our video and giving us your knowledge. We did not have much time in Chicago as we were there for work. We did make it downtown on our last day and walked from what used to be the Sears Tower to the park with the Clarence F. Buckingham Memorial Fountain. Then we went north and walked the river walk and ended our day at Ohio Street beach. You have a very beautiful city and we never felt scared like how other on the internet make your city out to be. We look forward to going back soon to be able to spend more time exploring the city in more detail next time.
