Lakes MTB - Bowfell 'That Was Bonkers'

- A pretty ambitious plan for a warm day on the fells. We hit the Langdale Valley with the intention to do a double loop. I've done all of it before but not connected it together so the stats said it was doable albeit in 11 hours 🥵
It was quite warm and we did quite a lot of chatting to many friendly walkers and had a bit of time out ourselves which slowed the ride down, however, I keep referring back to a couple of big rides I've done in the lakes previously and been pretty close to either passing out or giving up which is not a pleasant situation when the only way is up to get you back to the car
So after the first loop which took almost 7 hours, we knocked it on the head and went for a 🍻, and why not which was well deserved. You have to be of a particular mindset to enjoy a day like this but for us, it was thoroughly enjoyable and the descents with top notch tech were well worth the effort to get us to the trailhead
Couple of days later and I'm still buzzing from that ride which is what it's all about 🤙

Ride had everything Rob and the tough carry was well worth the descent. 6 or 7 years ago last time I did that, will have been on my Orange 5 hopefully will not be as long before I ride it again 🤙
Fair play to both of you, the first half of the video looked hard going but got your reward with that descent. Great riding and them view's
Just about summed it up, a tough old climb but quickly forgotten about as soon as the fun begins 🤘

Probably the most enjoyable ride I’ve done in a while, well at least in 2 weeks when we were in the Pyrenees 😂 but seriously it was mint 👌 keep the kudos coming 🤣
That's one of the best descents I've seen in the Lakes. Epic, well done both of you.

Yeah you're always welcome Paul, I only tend to ride Sunday though and think you prefer Saturday? Intend doing Iain's ride at the weekend so might see you there, if not will hook up before this feeble summer ends so high level is still on the cards 👍🏼
